1 Ž 46, 1 Unto the end. A Psalm for the sons of Korah. 2 Ž 46, 2 All nations, clap your hands. Shout joyfully to God with a voice of exultation. 3 Ž 46, 3 For the Lord is exalted and terrible: a great King over all the earth. 4 Ž 46, 4 He has subjected the peoples to us and subdued the nations under our feet. 5 Ž 46, 5 He has chosen us for his inheritance: the splendor of Jacob, whom he has loved. 6 Ž 46, 6 God ascends with jubilation, and the Lord with the voice of the trumpet. 7 Ž 46, 7 Sing psalms to our God, sing psalms. Sing psalms to our King, sing psalms. 8 Ž 46, 8 For God is the King of all the earth. Sing psalms wisely. 9 Ž 46, 9 God will reign over the peoples. God sits upon his holy throne. 10 Ž 46, 10 The leaders of the peoples have been gathered together by the God of Abraham. For the strong gods of the earth have been exceedingly exalted.

Z 46 - Tento žalm a dva nasledujúce tvoria akúsi trilógiu. V žalme 46 sa vyzdvihuje dôvera v Božiu pomoc, v 47. sa oslavuje Pán ako víťaz a kráľ, ktorý sa vracia v slávnom sprievode na Sion, a napokon 48. žalm má za obsah predovšetkým chválu mesta Jeruzalema a chválu Boha, ktorému patrí vďaka za zázračné oslobodenie mesta Jeruzalema.
Z 46,5 - "Riečne ramená obveseľujú Božie mesto…". Tak ako potok, čo pretekal raj (Gn 2,10; Ž 36,9; Iz 33,21; 66,12; Zjv 22,1).
Z 46,6 - "Od úsvitu" - pravdepodobne ide o ústup Sennacheribovho vojska r. 701 pr. Kr. (2 Kr 19,35; Iz 37,36).
