Ž 60, 1-9

1 Unto the end. With hymns, of David. 2 O God, pay attention to my supplication. Be attentive to my prayer. 3 I cried out to you from the ends of the earth. When my heart was in anguish, you exalted me on a rock. You have led me, 4 for you have been my hope, a tower of strength before the face of the enemy. 5 I will dwell in your tabernacle forever. I will be protected under the cover of your wings. 6 For you, my God, have listened to my prayer. You have granted an inheritance to those who fear your name. 7 You will add days to the days of the king, to his years, even to the time of generation after generation. 8 He remains in eternity, in the sight of God. Who will long for his mercy and truth? 9 So I will compose a psalm to your name, forever and ever, so that I may repay my vows from day to day.

Ž 60, 1-9

Verš 1
Unto the end. With hymns, of David.
2Sam 8:3 - And David struck Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, the king of Zobah, when he set out to rule over the river Euphrates.
2Sam 8:13 - David also made a name for himself when he returned from seizing Syria, in the Valley of the Salt Pits, having cut down eighteen thousand.
1Krn 18:3 - In that time, David also struck Hadadezer, the king of Zobah, in the region of Hamath, when he went forth so that he might extend his dominion as far as the river Euphrates.
1Krn 18:12 - Truly, Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, struck eighteen thousand of the Edomites in the Valley of the Salt Pits.
Ž 144:10 - O Lord, may all your works confess to you, and let your holy ones bless you.

Verš 5
I will dwell in your tabernacle forever. I will be protected under the cover of your wings.
Ž 108:6 - Establish the sinner over him, and let the devil stand at his right hand.

Z 60,2 - Porov. 2 Sam 8,3-8; 10,6-19; 1 Krn 18 n.

Z 60,8 - Sichem (dnešný Nablús) je v strede Palestíny predjordánskej (Gn 33,18) a Sukot ("stany" - mesto stanov) zasa v strede zajordánskej Palestíny, neďaleko rieky Jaboka, v kraji kmeňa Gadovho (Gn 33,17 a Joz 13,27). Tieto dve mestá tu zastupujú celú zasľúbenú zem, východnú i západnú časť. Celú túto zem dal Boh do vlastníctva Izraelu.

Izrael si ich podmaní a budú mu posluhovať.
