Rim 16, 1-27

1 Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is in the ministry of the church, which is at Cenchreae, 2 so that you may receive her in the Lord with the worthiness of the saints, and so that you may be of assistance to her in whatever task she will have need of you. For she herself has also assisted many, and myself also. 3 Greet Prisca and Aquila, my helpers in Christ Jesus, 4 who have risked their own necks on behalf of my life, for whom I give thanks, not I alone, but also all the churches of the Gentiles; 5 and greet the church at their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is among the first-fruits of Asia in Christ. 6 Greet Mary, who has labored much among you. 7 Greet Andronicus and Junias, my kinsmen and fellow captives, who are noble among the Apostles, and who were in Christ prior to me. 8 Greet Ampliatus, most beloved to me in the Lord. 9 Greet Urbanus, our helper in Christ Jesus, and Stachys, my beloved. 10 Greet Apelles, who has been tested in Christ. 11 Greet those who are from the household of Aristobulus. Greet Herodian, my kinsman. Greet those who are of the household of Narcissus, who are in the Lord. 12 Greet Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who labor in the Lord. Greet Persis, most beloved, who has labored much in the Lord. 13 Greet Rufus, elect in the Lord, and his mother and mine. 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brothers who are with them. 15 Greet Philologus and Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. 17 But I beg you, brothers, to take note of those who cause dissensions and offenses contrary to the doctrine that you have learned, and to turn away from them. 18 For ones such as these do not serve Christ our Lord, but their inner selves, and, through pleasing words and skillful speaking, they seduce the hearts of the innocent. 19 But your obedience has been made known in every place. And so, I rejoice in you. But I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple in what is evil. 20 And may the God of peace quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. 21 Timothy, my fellow laborer, greets you, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen. 22 I, Tertius, who wrote this epistle, greet you in the Lord. 23 Gaius, my host, and the entire church, greets you. Erastus, the treasurer of the city, greets you, and Quartus, a brother. 24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. 25 But to him who is able to confirm you according to my Gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, in accord with the revelation of the mystery which has been hidden from time immemorial, 26 (which now has been made clear through the Scriptures of the Prophets, in accord with the precept of the eternal God, unto the obedience of faith) which has been made known among all the Gentiles: 27 to God, who alone is wise, through Jesus Christ, to him be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Rim 16, 1-27

Verš 3
Greet Prisca and Aquila, my helpers in Christ Jesus,
Sk 18:2 - And upon finding a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently arrived from Italy with Priscilla his wife, (because Claudius had ordered all Jews to depart from Rome,) he met with them.
Sk 18:26 - And so, he began to act faithfully in the synagogue. And when Priscilla and Aquila had heard him, they took him aside and expounded the Way of the Lord to him more thoroughly.

Verš 16
Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.

Verš 17
But I beg you, brothers, to take note of those who cause dissensions and offenses contrary to the doctrine that you have learned, and to turn away from them.
Kol 2:8 - See to it that no one deceives you through philosophy and empty falsehoods, as found in the traditions of men, in accord with the influences of the world, and not in accord with Christ.
Tít 3:10 - Avoid a man who is a heretic, after the first and second correction,
2Jn 1:10 - If anyone comes to you, and does not bring this doctrine, do not be willing to receive him into the house, and do not speak a greeting to him.
Mt 18:17 - And if he will not listen to them, tell the Church. But if he will not listen to the Church, let him be to you like the pagan and the tax collector.
2Sol 3:6 - But we strongly caution you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, to draw yourselves away from every brother who is walking in disorder and not according to the tradition that they received from us.
2Tim 3:5 - even having the appearance of piety while rejecting its virtue. And so, avoid them.

Verš 18
For ones such as these do not serve Christ our Lord, but their inner selves, and, through pleasing words and skillful speaking, they seduce the hearts of the innocent.
Flp 3:19 - Their end is destruction; their god is their belly; and their glory is in their shame: for they are immersed in earthly things.
Ez 13:18 - and say: Thus says the Lord God: Woe to those who sew together little pillows under every forearm, and who make little cushions for the heads of every stage of life, in order to capture souls. And when they have seized the souls of my people, they became the life of their souls.

Verš 19
But your obedience has been made known in every place. And so, I rejoice in you. But I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple in what is evil.
Mt 10:16 - Behold, I am sending you like sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore, be as prudent as serpents and as simple as doves.

Verš 21
Timothy, my fellow laborer, greets you, and Lucius and Jason and Sosipater, my kinsmen.
Sk 16:1 - Then he arrived at Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple named Timothy was there, the son of a faithful Jewish woman, his father a Gentile.
Flp 2:19 - Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, in order that I may be encouraged, when I know the things concerning you.
Kol 1:1 - Paul, an Apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy, a brother,
1Sol 3:2 - And we sent Timothy, our brother and a minister of God in the Gospel of Christ, to confirm you and to exhort you, on behalf of your faith,
1Tim 1:2 - to Timothy, beloved son in the faith. Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and from Christ Jesus our Lord.
Sk 13:1 - Now there were, in the Church at Antioch, prophets and teachers, among whom were Barnabas, and Simon, who was called the Black, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manahen, who was the foster brother of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.
Sk 17:5 - But the Jews, being jealous, and joining with certain evildoers among the common men, caused a disturbance, and they stirred up the city. And taking up a position near the house of Jason, they sought to lead them out to the people.
Sk 20:4 - Now those accompanying him were Sopater, the son of Pyrrhus from Beroea; and also the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and also Tychicus and Trophimus from Asia.

2Tim 4:20 - Erastus remained at Corinth. And Trophimus I left sick at Miletus.

Verš 25
But to him who is able to confirm you according to my Gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, in accord with the revelation of the mystery which has been hidden from time immemorial,
Ef 3:20 - Now to him who is able to do all things, more abundantly than we could ever ask or understand, by means of the virtue which is at work in us:
Ef 1:9 - So does he make known to us the mystery of his will, which he has set forth in Christ, in a manner well-pleasing to him,
Ef 3:9 - and to enlighten everyone concerning the dispensation of the mystery, hidden before the ages in God who created all things,
Kol 1:26 - the mystery which had remained hidden to past ages and generations, but which now is manifested to his saints.
2Tim 1:10 - And this has now been made manifest by the illumination of our Savior Jesus Christ, who certainly has destroyed death, and who has also illuminated life and incorruption through the Gospel.
Tít 1:2 - in the hope of the eternal life that God, who does not lie, promised before the ages of time,
1Pt 1:20 - foreknown, certainly, before the foundation of the world, and made manifest in these latter times for your sake.

Rim 16,1 - Féba bola v službách lásky (porov. 1 Tim 3, 11) v kenchrejskej cirkvi. Nepochybne ona niesla rímskym kresťanom tento list. Kenchry – korintský východný prístav.

Rim 16,3 - Priska a Akvila, manželia. Pozri Sk 18, 1–4. 18. 26. Boli to kresťania z Ríma, ktorí spolupracovali s Pavlom v Korinte a v Efeze.

1 Kor 16, 20; 2 Kor 13, 12; 1 Sol 5, 26. Pobozkanie zvyčajné u ľudí Východu sa stalo u kresťanov výrazom bratskej lásky a prešlo i do bohoslužieb (osculum pacis – bozk pokoja).
