After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death.

Mk 14,1 - Veľká noc a sviatok Nekvasených chlebov boli dva rozdielne sviatky, ktoré však prakticky splývali. Veľká noc sa začínala večer 14. nisana (pre Židov bol vtedy už 15. nisan, lebo nový deň sa začínal večer). Sviatok Nekvasených chlebov trval od 15. do 21. nisana, teda jeden týždeň. Cez týchto 7 dní sa nesmel jesť kysnutý chlieb.
Mk 14,3-9 - Mt 26, 6-13; Jn 12, 1-8.
Mk 14,3 - Z koreňov indickej rastliny nardu pripravovali voňavý olej. Alabaster je jemnozrnný, snehobiely priesvitný sadrovec, z ktorého sa zhotovovali nádobky na voňavé oleje, drahé masti a poháre na pitie. Názov je odvodený od mesta Alabastron v Hornom Egypte, kde sa vyskytuje zvláštna odroda tohto nerastu.
Mk 14,5 - Denár - pozri poznámku k Mt 26, 15.
Mk 14,8 - Pomazanie mŕtvych ako skutok milosrdenstva sa u Židov považoval za niečo lepšie ako almužna.
Mk 14,10-11 - Mt 26, 14-16; Lk 22, 3-6.
Mk 14,12-16 - Mt 26, 17-19; Lk 22, 7-13.
Mk 14,14 - "Pán domu" bol asi otec samého evanjelistu Marka. V jeho dome sa neskôr schádzali prví jeruzalemskí veriaci na bohoslužbu.

Mk 14,27 - Ježiš sa odvoláva na Zachariášovo proroctvo (13, 7).

Mk 14,36 - Marek zachoval v aramejskom jazyku oslovenie, ktorým Ježiš oslovoval nebeského Otca. Ide o dôverné oslovenie, ako asi naše "otecko".
Mk 14,43-52 - Mt 26, 47-56; Lk 22, 47-53; Jn 18, 2-11.
Mk 14,51-52 - Marek tu opisuje takú udalosť, ktorej musel byť očitým svedkom. Nevylučuje sa, že pozemok Getsemani patril Markovým rodičom, tak ako večeradlo. Marek tam mohol nocovať. Na hlučný príchod vojakov sa prebudil. Prikryl sa plachtou a vyšiel sa pozrieť, čo sa robí. Ježiša práve odvádzali poviazaného, a preto išiel zahalený do plachty za nimi. Aj jeho chceli chytiť, ale ušiel im tak, že im plachtu nechal v rukách.
Mk 14,53-65 - Mt 26, 57-68; Lk 22, 63-71; Jn 18, 13-24.
Mk 14,61 - Výrazy "syn Požehnaného" čiže "Zvelebeného" a "po pravici Moci" sa vtedy používali z úcty k Bohu, ktorého meno nevyslovovali.
