1Kor 1, 1-31

1 Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 2 Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours: 3 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ. 4 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5 That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; 6 Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you: 7 So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ: 8 Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. 10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. 11 For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chloe, that there are contentions among you. 12 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. 13 Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul? 14 I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius; 15 Lest any should say that I had baptized in mine own name. 16 And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other. 17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. 18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

1Kor 1, 1-31

Verš 2
Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours:
Jn 17:19 - And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.
Sk 15:9 - And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.
1Sol 4:7 - For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.
Rim 1:7 - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ef 1:1 - Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
2Tim 2:22 - Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Verš 3
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Verš 5
That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
Kol 1:9 - For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

Verš 7
So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Flp 3:20 - For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Tít 2:13 - Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

Verš 8
Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Sol 3:13 - To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
1Sol 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Verš 9
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Kor 10:13 - There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Jer 32:40 - And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.
Jn 15:5 - I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Gal 2:20 - I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
1Jn 1:3 - That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

Verš 10
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Rim 12:16 - Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Rim 15:5 - Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
Flp 2:2 - Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Flp 3:16 - Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing.
1Pt 3:8 - Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:

Verš 12
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
1Kor 3:4 - For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal?
Sk 18:24 - And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.
1Kor 16:12 - As touching our brother Apollos, I greatly desired him to come unto you with the brethren: but his will was not at all to come at this time; but he will come when he shall have convenient time.

Verš 14
I thank God that I baptized none of you, but Crispus and Gaius;
Sk 18:8 - And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.
Rim 16:23 - Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother.

Verš 16
And I baptized also the household of Stephanas: besides, I know not whether I baptized any other.
1Kor 16:15 - I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
1Kor 16:17 - I am glad of the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus: for that which was lacking on your part they have supplied.

Verš 17
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.
1Kor 2:1 - And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.
1Kor 2:4 - And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:
2Pt 1:16 - For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

Verš 18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Rim 1:16 - For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Verš 19
For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.
Jób 5:12 - He disappointeth the devices of the crafty, so that their hands cannot perform their enterprise.
Iz 29:14 - Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

Verš 20
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
Iz 33:18 - Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?

Verš 21
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
Mt 11:25 - At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes.
Lk 10:21 - In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Verš 22
For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:
Mt 12:38 - Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee.
Mt 16:1 - The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.

Verš 23
But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness;
Mt 11:6 - And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.
Jn 6:60 - Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it?
Jn 6:66 - From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Verš 24
But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.
Kol 2:3 - In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

Verš 26
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:
Jn 7:48 - Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
Jak 2:5 - Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

Verš 30
But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
Jer 23:5 - Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.
Jn 17:19 - And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

Verš 31
That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
Iz 65:16 - That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes.
Jer 9:23 - Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:
2Kor 10:17 - But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

1Kor 1,1 - Pavol pravdepodobne diktoval list Sostenovi.

1Kor 1,19 - Iz 29, 14.

1Kor 1,21 - Božia múdrosť sa prejavila v Božích dielach, kde ju mal človek vybadať a spoznať (Rim 1, 19–20).

1Kor 1,22 - Židia dávali prednosť Mesiášovi (porov. Mt 12, 38; Jn 4, 48), tvorcovi verejných divov, kým Gréci sa strácali vo filozofii (porov. Sk 17, 12 n.).

1Kor 1,31 - Voľné citovanie Jer 9, 22 n.
