1 (HEM) חכמות בנתה ביתה חצבה עמודיה שבעה׃
1 (UKJV) Wisdom has built her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars:

2 (HEM) טבחה טבחה מסכה יינה אף ערכה שלחנה׃
2 (UKJV) "She has killed her beasts; she has mingled her wine; she has also furnished her table. "

3 (HEM) שלחה נערתיה תקרא על גפי מרמי קרת׃
3 (UKJV) She has sent forth her maidens: she cries upon the highest places of the city,

4 (HEM) מי פתי יסר הנה חסר לב אמרה לו׃
4 (UKJV) Whoso is simple, let him turn in here: as for him that wants understanding, she says to him,

5 (HEM) לכו לחמו בלחמי ושתו ביין מסכתי׃
5 (UKJV) Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.

6 (HEM) עזבו פתאים וחיו ואשרו בדרך בינה׃
6 (UKJV) "Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. "

7 (HEM) יסר לץ לקח לו קלון ומוכיח לרשע מומו׃
7 (UKJV) He that reproves a scorner gets to himself shame: and he that rebukes a wicked man gets himself a blot.

8 (HEM) אל תוכח לץ פן ישנאך הוכח לחכם ויאהבך׃
8 (UKJV) Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate you: rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.

9 (HEM) תן לחכם ויחכם עוד הודע לצדיק ויוסף לקח׃
9 (UKJV) Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

10 (HEM) תחלת חכמה יראת יהוה ודעת קדשים בינה׃
10 (UKJV) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

11 (HEM) כי בי ירבו ימיך ויוסיפו לך שנות חיים׃
11 (UKJV) For by me your days shall be multiplied, and the years of your life shall be increased.

12 (HEM) אם חכמת חכמת לך ולצת לבדך תשא׃
12 (UKJV) If you be wise, you shall be wise for yourself: but if you scorn, you alone shall bear it.

13 (HEM) אשת כסילות המיה פתיות ובל ידעה מה׃
13 (UKJV) A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knows nothing.

14 (HEM) וישבה לפתח ביתה על כסא מרמי קרת׃
14 (UKJV) For she sits at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,

15 (HEM) לקרא לעברי דרך המישרים ארחותם׃
15 (UKJV) To call passengers who go right on their ways:

16 (HEM) מי פתי יסר הנה וחסר לב ואמרה לו׃
16 (UKJV) Whoso is simple, let him turn in here: and as for him that wants understanding, she says to him,

17 (HEM) מים גנובים ימתקו ולחם סתרים ינעם׃
17 (UKJV) Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

18 (HEM) ולא ידע כי רפאים שם בעמקי שאול קראיה׃
18 (UKJV) "But he knows not that the dead are there; and that her guest are in the depths of hell. "
