Žalmy

1 (KJV) It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High:
1 (KAT) Žalm. Pieseň na Pánov deň.

2 (KJV) To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,
2 (KAT) Dobre je oslavovať Pána a ospevovať meno tvoje, Najvyšší;

3 (KJV) Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound.
3 (KAT) za rána zvestovať tvoju dobrotu a tvoju vernosť celú noc

4 (KJV) For thou, LORD, hast made me glad through thy work: I will triumph in the works of thy hands.
4 (KAT) na desaťstrunovej harfe a na lutne, spevom a citarou.

5 (KJV) O LORD, how great are thy works! and thy thoughts are very deep.
5 (KAT) Lebo tvoje počínanie, Pane, ma napĺňa radosťou a plesám nad dielami tvojich rúk.

6 (KJV) A brutish man knoweth not; neither doth a fool understand this.
6 (KAT) Aké veľkolepé sú tvoje diela, Pane, a aké hlboké tvoje myšlienky!

7 (KJV) When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:
7 (KAT) Nerozumný človek to nevie a blázon to nechápe.

8 (KJV) But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore.
8 (KAT) Hoci hriešnici rastú ako tráva a kadejakí zločinci prekvitajú, večná záhuba ich predsa neminie;

9 (KJV) For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.
9 (KAT) no ty, Pane, si najvyšší naveky.

10 (KJV) But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
10 (KAT) Veď to, Pane, tvoji protivníci, veď to tvoji protivníci zahynú a rozprášení budú všetci zločinci.

11 (KJV) Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.
11 (KAT) Mne však dávaš silu, akú má byvol s rohami, mažeš ma žírnym olejom.

12 (KJV) The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree: he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
12 (KAT) Moje oko hľadí zvrchu na nepriateľov, moje ucho počúva o osude tých, čo zlomyseľne povstali proti mne.

13 (KJV) Those that be planted in the house of the LORD shall flourish in the courts of our God.
13 (KAT) Spravodlivý sťa palma zakvitne a vyrastie sťa céder z Libanonu.

14 (KJV) They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing;
14 (KAT) Tí, čo vyrastajú v dome Pánovom, v nádvoriach nášho Boha budú prekvitať.

15 (KJV) To shew that the LORD is upright: he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.
15 (KAT) Ešte aj v starobe budú prinášať ovocie, úrodní budú a plní sviežosti;

16 (KAT) a tak zvestujú, že Pán, moje útočište, je spravodlivý a neprávosti v ňom niet.
