Ž 84, 1-13

1 (KJV) How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
1 (ROH) Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru. Na nápev: Gitťanka. Synov Kórachových. Žalm.

2 (KJV) My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
2 (ROH) Aké milé sú tvoje príbytky, Hospodine Zástupov!

3 (KJV) Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
3 (ROH) Práhne, i hynie moja duša túžbou po sieňach Hospodinových. Moje srdce a moje telo plesajú oproti silnému Bohu živému.

4 (KJV) Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah.
4 (ROH) Ešte len aj vrabec najde dom a lastovička sebe hniezdo, v ktorom složí svoje mláďatá, tvoje oltáre, Hospodine Zástupov, môj Kráľu a môj Bože!

5 (KJV) Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.
5 (ROH) Blahoslavení sú tí, ktorí bývajú v tvojom dome; tí ťa budú večne chváliť. Sélah.

6 (KJV) Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.
6 (ROH) Blahoslavený človek, ktorý má svoju silu v tebe; blahoslavení, v ktorých srdci sú urovnané cesty.

7 (KJV) They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
7 (ROH) Tí, ktorí idú dolinou Plaču, pokládajú si ju za prameň, i včasný dážď ju pokrýva rôznym požehnaním.

8 (KJV) O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
8 (ROH) Idú od sily k sile a ukazujú sa pred Bohom na Sione.

9 (KJV) Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
9 (ROH) Hospodine, Bože Zástupov, čuj moju modlitbu, pozoruj, Bože Jakobov! Sélah.

10 (KJV) For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
10 (ROH) Ty, náš štítu, vidz, ó, Bože, a pohliadni na tvár svojho pomazaného!

11 (KJV) For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
11 (ROH) Lebo lepší je deň v tvojich dvoroch než inde tisíc. Radšej volím sedieť na prahu v dome svojho Boha než bývať v stánoch bezbožnosti.

12 (KJV) O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
12 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin Bôh je slncom a štítom. Ľúbeznosť a slávu udieľa Hospodin. Neodoprie ničoho dobrého tým, ktorí chodia v úprimnosti.

13 (ROH) Hospodine Zástupov, blahoslavený človek, ktorý sa nadeje na teba!

Verš 2

My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.

Ž 42:1 - As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

Ž 63:1 - O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;

Verš 12

O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Ž 2:12 - Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Ž 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

Z 84 - Žalmista je mimo hraníc vlasti, ďaleko od svätostánku.

Z 84,7 - Pútnici nepoznajú ťažkosti cesty, vedie ich túžba po Bohu a jeho svätyni. "Až pôjdu vyprahnutým údolím" (hebr. báká'), kde niet vody, ktorá by osviežila a prinavrátila stratenú silu, aj toto údolie je pre pútnikov požehnaným krajom, akoby ho zavlažil ranný dážď. "Ranný dážď" - je jesenný dážď v čase siatia. Tento dážď je veľmi užitočný, tvrdú zem mení na kyprú pôdu a dáva možnosť vzrastu bujnej vegetácii.

Z 84,10 - Pútnici, keď došli do chrámu, modlievali sa aj za "pomazaného", za kráľa.
