Ž 84, 1-14

1 (CPDV) Unto the end. A Psalm to the sons of Korah.
1 (KAT) Zbormajstrovi. Na nápev „Lisy“. Žalm Koreho synov.

2 (CPDV) O Lord, you have blessed your land. You have turned aside the captivity of Jacob.
2 (KAT) Aké milé sú tvoje príbytky, Pane zástupov;

3 (CPDV) You have released the iniquity of your people. You have covered all their sins.
3 (KAT) túži a zmiera moja duša po nádvoriach Pánových. Moje srdce i moje telo vznášajú sa k Bohu živému.

4 (CPDV) You have mitigated all your wrath. You have turned aside from the wrath of your indignation.
4 (KAT) Veď aj vrabec si nájde príbytok a lastovička hniezdo, kde vkladá svoje mláďatá: tvoje oltáre, Pane zástupov, môj kráľ a môj Boh.

5 (CPDV) Convert us, O God, our Savior, and turn your anger away from us.
5 (KAT) Blažení tí, čo bývajú v tvojom dome a bez prestania ťa velebia.

6 (CPDV) Will you be angry with us forever? And will you extend your wrath from generation to generation?
6 (KAT) Blažený človek, ktorému ty pomáhaš, keď sa chystá na svätú púť.

7 (CPDV) O God, you will turn back and revive us. And your people will rejoice in you.
7 (KAT) Až pôjdu vyprahnutým údolím, premenia ho na prameň, lebo ranný dážď ho odeje požehnaním.

8 (CPDV) O Lord, reveal to us your mercy, and grant to us your salvation.
8 (KAT) Stúpajú a síl im stále pribúda, až na Sione uvidia Boha najvyššieho.

9 (CPDV) I will listen to what the Lord God may be saying to me. For he will speak peace to his people, and to his saints, and to those who are being converted to the heart.
9 (KAT) Pane, Bože zástupov, čuj moju modlitbu, vypočuj ma, Bože Jakubov.

10 (CPDV) So then, truly his salvation is near to those who fear him, so that glory may inhabit our land.
10 (KAT) Bože, náš ochranca, pohliadni a pozri na tvár svojho pomazaného.

11 (CPDV) Mercy and truth have met each other. Justice and peace have kissed.
11 (KAT) Jeden deň v tvojich nádvoriach je lepší než iných tisíce. Radšej chcem stáť na prahu domu svojho Boha ako prebývať v stanoch hriešnikov.

12 (CPDV) Truth has risen from the earth, and justice has gazed down from heaven.
12 (KAT) Lebo Pán, Boh, je slnko a štít, milosť a slávu udeľuje Pán; neodoprie dobro tým, čo kráčajú v nevinnosti.

13 (CPDV) For so will the Lord give goodness, and our earth will give her fruit.
13 (KAT) Pane zástupov, blažený človek, čo sa spolieha na teba.

14 (CPDV) Justice will walk before him, and he will set his steps upon the way.

O Lord, you have blessed your land. You have turned aside the captivity of Jacob.

Ž 42:1 - A Psalm of David. Judge me, O God, and discern my cause from that of a nation not holy; rescue me from a man unjust and deceitful.

Verš 12

Truth has risen from the earth, and justice has gazed down from heaven.

Ž 2:12 - Embrace discipline, lest at any time the Lord might become angry, and you would perish from the way of the just.

Ž 34:8 - Let the snare, of which he is ignorant, come upon him, and let the deception, which he has hidden, take hold of him: and may he fall into that very snare.

Z 84 - Žalmista je mimo hraníc vlasti, ďaleko od svätostánku.

Z 84,7 - Pútnici nepoznajú ťažkosti cesty, vedie ich túžba po Bohu a jeho svätyni. "Až pôjdu vyprahnutým údolím" (hebr. báká'), kde niet vody, ktorá by osviežila a prinavrátila stratenú silu, aj toto údolie je pre pútnikov požehnaným krajom, akoby ho zavlažil ranný dážď. "Ranný dážď" - je jesenný dážď v čase siatia. Tento dážď je veľmi užitočný, tvrdú zem mení na kyprú pôdu a dáva možnosť vzrastu bujnej vegetácii.

Z 84,10 - Pútnici, keď došli do chrámu, modlievali sa aj za "pomazaného", za kráľa.
