1 (KJV) Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
1 (ROH) Hallelujah! Spievajte Hospodinovi novú pieseň, jeho chválu v shromaždení svätých!
2 (KJV) Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
2 (ROH) Nech sa raduje Izrael v tom, ktorý ho učinil! Synovia Siona nech plesajú vo svojom Kráľovi!
3 (KJV) Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
3 (ROH) Nech chvália jeho meno kolotancom! Pri bubne a pri citare nech mu spievajú žalmy!
4 (KJV) For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
4 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin má záľubu vo svojom ľude; zdobí pokorných spasením.
5 (KJV) Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
5 (ROH) Svätí sa budú veseliť v sláve; plesať budú na svojich ležištiach.
6 (KJV) Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
6 (ROH) Vyvyšovanie silného Boha bude v ich hrdle a meč, ostrý na obe strany, v ich ruke,
7 (KJV) To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;
7 (ROH) aby vykonali pomstu na národoch a tresty na ľuďoch,
8 (KJV) To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
8 (ROH) aby poviazali ich kráľov reťazami a ich veľmožov železnými putami,
9 (KJV) To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
9 (ROH) aby na nich vykonali napísaný súd; sláva to všetkých jeho svätých. Hallelujah!

Verš 8
To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
Mt 18:18 - Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Verš 9
To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
Dt 4:6 - Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
Ž 100:3 - Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
Ž 81:2 - Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
Verš 6
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
2Sol 2:8 - And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Heb 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Zjv 1:16 - And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
Z 149,1 - Zhromaždenie svätých môže označovať všetkých Izraelitov napospol a môže byť pomenovaním nejakej náboženskej slávnosti, ktorá sa konala v chráme (Ž 148,14).
Z 149,3 - "Tanec" patril k bohoslužobným úkonom. Vo Svätom písme máme o tom neraz zmienku (Jer 31,4; pozri aj 2 Sam 6,14; Sdc 11,34; Ž 87,7 atď.).
Z 149,5 - Izraeliti sa majú radovať z víťazstva, majú sa tešiť v pokoji a istote -"nech sa veselia na svojich lôžkach" - veď bolo dosť utrpenia, dosť sĺz za dlhých nocí trpkej nevoľnosti (Ž 4,5; 6,6; porov. aj Ž 43,9; Iz 30,29; Oz 7,14 atď.).
Z 149,6 - Porov. Neh 4,10-11; pozri aj 2 Mach 15,27, kde sa cituje 6. verš tohto žalmu.
Z 149,8-9 - Izrael bude nástrojom Božej spravodlivosti, bude však aj nositeľom spásy pre všetky národy. A to mu bude na slávu.
