1 (UKJV) We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work you did in their days, in the times of old.

2 (CPDV) My heart has uttered a good word. I speak of my works to the king. My tongue is like the pen of a scribe who writes quickly.
2 (VUL) Deus, auribus nostris audivimus; patres nostri annuntiaverunt nobis opus, quod operatus es in diebus eorum, in diebus antiquis.
2 (UKJV) "How you did drive out the heathen with your hand, and planted them; how you did afflict the people, and cast them out. "

3 (CPDV) You are a brilliant form before the sons of men. Grace has been poured freely into your lips. Because of this, God has blessed you in eternity.
3 (VUL) Tu manu tua gentes depulisti et plantasti illos, afflixisti populos et dilatasti eos.
3 (UKJV) For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but your right hand, and your arm, and the light of your countenance, because you had a favour unto them.

4 (CPDV) Fasten your sword to your thigh, O most powerful one.
4 (VUL) Nec enim in gladio suo possederunt terram, et brachium eorum non salvavit eos; sed dextera tua et brachium tuum et illuminatio vultus tui, quoniam complacuisti in eis.
4 (UKJV) You are my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob.

5 (CPDV) With your splendor and your excellence extended, proceed prosperously, and reign for the sake of truth and meekness and justice, and so will your right hand lead you wondrously.
5 (VUL) Tu es rex meus et Deus meus, qui mandas salutes Iacob.
5 (UKJV) Through you will we push down our enemies: through your name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

6 (CPDV) Your arrows are sharp; the people will fall under you, with the hearts of the enemies of the king.
6 (VUL) In te inimicos nostros proiecimus, et in nomine tuo conculcavimus insurgentes in nos. -
6 (UKJV) For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

7 (CPDV) Your throne, O God, is forever and ever. The scepter of your kingdom is a scepter of true aim.
7 (VUL) Non enim in arcu meo sperabo, et gladius meus non salvabit me.
7 (UKJV) But you have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame that hated us.

8 (CPDV) You have loved justice and hated iniquity. Because of this, God, your God, has anointed you, before your co-heirs, with the oil of gladness.
8 (VUL) Tu autem salvasti nos de affligentibus nos et odientes nos confudisti.
8 (UKJV) In God we boast all the day long, and praise your name for ever. Selah.

9 (CPDV) Myrrh and balsam and cinnamon perfume your garments, from the houses of ivory. From these, they have delighted you:
9 (VUL) In Deo gloriabimur tota die et in nomine tuo confitebimur in saeculum.
9 (UKJV) "But you have cast off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies. "

10 (CPDV) the daughters of kings in your honor. The queen assisted at your right hand, in clothing of gold, encircled with diversity.
10 (VUL) Nunc autem reppulisti et confudisti nos et non egredieris, Deus, cum virtutibus nostris.
10 (UKJV) You make us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

11 (CPDV) Listen, daughter, and see, and incline your ear. And forget your people and your father’s house.
11 (VUL) Convertisti nos retrorsum coram inimicis nostris; et, qui oderunt nos, diripuerunt sibi.
11 (UKJV) "You have given us like sheep appointed for food; and have scattered us among the heathen. "

12 (CPDV) And the king will desire your beauty. For he is the Lord your God, and they will adore him.
12 (VUL) Dedisti nos tamquam oves ad vescendum et in gentibus dispersisti nos.
12 (UKJV) You sell your people for nothing, and do not increase your wealth by their price.

13 (CPDV) And the daughters of Tyre will entreat your countenance with gifts: all the rich men of the people.
13 (VUL) Vendidisti populum tuum sine lucro nec ditior factus es in commutatione eorum.
13 (UKJV) You make us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

14 (CPDV) All the glory of the daughter of its king is inside, in golden fringes,
14 (VUL) Posuisti nos opprobrium vicinis nostris, subsannationem et derisum his, qui sunt in circuitu nostro.
14 (UKJV) You make us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people.

15 (CPDV) clothed all around with diversities. After her, virgins will be led to the king. Her neighbors will be brought to you.
15 (VUL) Posuisti nos similitudinem in gentibus, commotionem capitis in populis.
15 (UKJV) My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,

16 (VUL) Tota die verecundia mea contra me est, et confusio faciei meae cooperuit me

18 (CPDV) They will remember your name always, for generation after generation. Because of this, people will confess to you in eternity, even forever and ever.
18 (VUL) Haec omnia venerunt super nos, nec obliti sumus te et inique non egimus in testamentum tuum.
18 (UKJV) "Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from your way; "

19 (VUL) Et non recessit retro cor nostrum, nec declinaverunt gressus nostri a via tua;
19 (UKJV) Though you have sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

20 (VUL) sed humiliasti nos in loco vulpium et operuisti nos umbra mortis.
20 (UKJV) "If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; "

21 ----
21 (VUL) Si obliti fuerimus nomen Dei nostri et si expanderimus manus nostras ad deum alienum,
21 (UKJV) Shall not God search this out? for he knows the secrets of the heart.

22 ----
22 (VUL) nonne Deus requiret ista? Ipse enim novit abscondita cordis.
22 (UKJV) "Yea, for your sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. "

23 (VUL) Quoniam propter te mortificamur tota die, aestimati sumus sicut oves occisionis.
23 (UKJV) Awake, why sleep you, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever.

24 (VUL) Evigila, quare obdormis, Domine? Exsurge et ne repellas in finem.
24 (UKJV) Wherefore hide you your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?

25 ----
25 (VUL) Quare faciem tuam avertis, oblivisceris inopiae nostrae et tribulationis nostrae?
25 (UKJV) For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaves unto the earth.

26 ----
26 (VUL) Quoniam humiliata est in pulvere anima nostra, conglutinatus est in terra venter noster. Exsurge, Domine, adiuva nos et redime nos propter misericordiam tuam.
26 (UKJV) Arise for our help, and redeem us for your mercies' sake.
