(CPDV - Anglický - Catholic PD)

Lk 3, 1-38

1 (CPDV) Then, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being procurator of Judea, and Herod tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias tetrarch of Abilene,
1 (KJV) Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene,

2 (CPDV) under the high priests Annas and Caiaphas: the word of the Lord came to John, the son of Zechariah, in the wilderness.
2 (KJV) Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness.

3 (CPDV) And he went into the entire region of the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins,
3 (KJV) And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;

4 (CPDV) just as it has been written in the book of the sermons of the prophet Isaiah: “The voice of one crying out in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the Lord. Make straight his paths.
4 (KJV) As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

5 (CPDV) Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low. And what is crooked shall be made straight. And the rough paths shall be made into level ways.
5 (KJV) Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;
5 (ROH) Každé údolie bude vyplnené, a každý vrch a breh bude snížený, a bude to, čo je krivé, priamym a nerovné bude hladkými cestami,

6 (CPDV) And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.”
6 (KJV) And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.
6 (ROH) a každé telo uvidí spasenie Božie.

7 (CPDV) Therefore, he said to the crowd that went out in order to be baptized by him: “You progeny of vipers! Who told you to flee from the approaching wrath?
7 (KJV) Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?
7 (ROH) A hovoril zástupom, ktoré vychádzaly, aby sa mu daly pokrstiť: Plemä vreteníc, ktože vám ukázal, aby ste utiekli budúcemu hnevu?

8 (CPDV) So then, produce fruits worthy of repentance. And do not begin to say, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you that God has the power to raise up sons to Abraham from these stones.
8 (KJV) Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.
8 (ROH) Tedy neste ovocie, hodné pokánia! A nezačnite hovoriť sami v sebe: Veď otca máme Abraháma!

9 (CPDV) For even now the axe has been placed at the root of the trees. Therefore, every tree that does not produce good fruit shall be cut down and cast into the fire.”
9 (KJV) And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

10 (CPDV) And the crowed was questioning him, saying, “What then should we do?”
10 (KJV) And the people asked him, saying, What shall we do then?
10 (ROH) A zástupy sa ho pýtaly a vravely: Čože teda budeme robiť?

11 (CPDV) But in response, he said to them: “Whoever has two coats, let him give to those who do not have. And whoever has food, let him act similarly.”
11 (KJV) He answereth and saith unto them, He that hath two coats, let him impart to him that hath none; and he that hath meat, let him do likewise.
11 (ROH) A on odpovedal a vravel im: Kto má dvoje sukieň, nech udelí tomu, kto nemá, a ten, kto má jedlá, nech činí podobne!

12 (CPDV) Now the tax collectors also came to be baptized, and they said to him, “Teacher, what should we do?”
12 (KJV) Then came also publicans to be baptized, and said unto him, Master, what shall we do?
12 (ROH) A prišli aj colní dať sa pokrstiť a povedali mu: Učiteľu, čo budeme robiť?

13 (CPDV) But he said to them, “You should do nothing more than what has been appointed to you.”
13 (KJV) And he said unto them, Exact no more than that which is appointed you.
13 (ROH) A on im povedal: Nič viacej nevyberajte nad to, čo vám je nariadené!

14 (CPDV) Then the soldiers also questioned him, saying, “And what should we do?” And he said to them: “You should strike no one, and you should not make false accusations. And be content with your pay.”
14 (KJV) And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
14 (ROH) A pýtali sa ho aj vojaci a hovorili: A my čo budeme robiť? A povedal im: Nikoho nezastrašujte a tak nezdierajte ani nerobte ničoho podvodne a majte dosť na svojom plate.

15 (CPDV) Now all were thinking about John in their hearts, and the people were supposing that perhaps he might be the Christ.
15 (KJV) And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not;
15 (ROH) A keď očakával ľud, a všetci rozmýšľali vo svojom srdci o Jánovi, či nie je asi on Kristus,

16 (CPDV) John responded by saying to everyone: “Indeed, I baptize you with water. But there will arrive one stronger than me, the laces of whose shoes I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit, and with fire.
16 (KJV) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:
16 (ROH) odpovedal Ján všetkým a riekol: Ja vás krstím vodou, ale ide mocnejší odo mňa, ktorému nie som hoden rozviazať remienok na jeho obuvi; ten vás bude krstiť Svätým Duchom a ohňom;

17 (CPDV) His winnowing fan is in his hand. And he will purify his threshing floor. And he will gather the wheat into the barn. But the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”
17 (KJV) Whose fan is in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable.

18 (CPDV) Indeed, he also proclaimed many other things, exhorting the people.
18 (KJV) And many other things in his exhortation preached he unto the people.

19 (CPDV) But Herod the tetrarch, when he was corrected by him concerning Herodias, his brother’s wife, and concerning all the evils that Herod had done,
19 (KJV) But Herod the tetrarch, being reproved by him for Herodias his brother Philip's wife, and for all the evils which Herod had done,

20 (CPDV) added this also, above all else: that he confined John to prison.
20 (KJV) Added yet this above all, that he shut up John in prison.

21 (CPDV) Now it happened that, when all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized; and as he was praying, heaven was opened.
21 (KJV) Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

22 (CPDV) And the Holy Spirit, in a corporal appearance like a dove, descended upon him. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my beloved Son. In you, I am well pleased.”
22 (KJV) And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Jozefa.
