1 (KJV) And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah.
1 (ECAV) Keď sa Sára dožila stodvadsaťsedem rokov - toľko rokov Sára žila -

2 (KJV) And Sarah died in Kirjath-arba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
2 (ECAV) zomrela v Kirjat-Arbe, to znamená Chebrón v Kanaáne; i šiel Abrahám, aby trúchlil za Sárou a oplakával ju.

3 (KJV) And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying,
3 (ECAV) Potom vstal Abrahám od svojej mŕtvej a takto sa prihovoril Chetejcom:

4 (KJV) I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
4 (ECAV) Som cudzincom a prišelcom u vás; dajte mi u vás miesto na dedičnú hrobku, aby som mohol vyniesť a pochovať svoju mŕtvu.

5 (KJV) And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him,
5 (ECAV) Nato Chetejci odpovedali Abrahámovi:

6 (KJV) Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.
6 (ECAV) Čuj nás, pane: ty si medzi nami Božím kniežaťom; pochovaj si teda mŕtvu v najlepšom z našich hrobov. Nikto spomedzi nás ti neodoprie svoj hrob, aby si v ňom pochoval svoju mŕtvu.

7 (KJV) And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
7 (ECAV) Nato Abrahám vstal, poklonil sa ľudu krajiny, Chetejcom,

8 (KJV) And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
8 (ECAV) a hovoril im: Ak je vašou vôľou, aby som vyniesol a pochoval svoju mŕtvu, počujte ma a zakročte u Efróna, syna Cócharovho,

9 (KJV) That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you.
9 (ECAV) aby mi dal jaskyňu Machpéla, ktorá je na konci jeho poľa. Nech mi ju dá za plnú cenu na dedičnú hrobku medzi vami.

10 (KJV) And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying,
10 (ECAV) Efrón sedel práve medzi Chetejcami. Chetejec Efrón takto odpovedal Abrahámovi verejne pred Chetejcami i pred všetkými, ktorí vchádzali bránou do jeho mesta:

11 (KJV) Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead.
11 (ECAV) Nie, pane! Počuj ma; dávam ti pole a dávam ti i jaskyňu, ktorá je na ňom. Pred očami svojich krajanov ti ju dávam; pochovaj svoju mŕtvu.

12 (KJV) And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land.
12 (ECAV) Abrahám sa poklonil pred obyvateľmi krajiny

13 (KJV) And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.
13 (ECAV) a hovoril Efrónovi verejne pred obyvateľmi krajiny: Len ma poslúchni! Za pole ti zaplatím plnú cenu; prijmi ju odo mňa: a potom tam pochovám svoju mŕtvu.

14 (KJV) And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him,
14 (ECAV) Nato Efrón odpovedal Abrahámovi:

15 (KJV) My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.
15 (ECAV) Pane, počuj ma! Poľa je za štyristo šekelov striebra, čo je to pre mňa a pre teba? Len tam pochovaj svoju mŕtvu.

16 (KJV) And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
16 (ECAV) Abrahám poslúchol Efróna; odvážil mu toľko striebra, koľko on verejne pred Chetejcami spomenul, štyristo šekelov striebra bežnej kupeckej váhy.

17 (KJV) And the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure
17 (ECAV) Tak Efrónovo pole v Machpéle, ktoré je naproti Mamré, pole aj jaskyňa na ňom, i so všetkými stromami na poli a na všetkých okolitých medziach, prešli

18 (KJV) Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.
18 (ECAV) do Abrahámovho vlastníctva pred zrakom Chetejcov i pred všetkými, ktorí vchádzali bránou do jeho mesta.

19 (KJV) And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan.
19 (ECAV) Potom Abrahám pochoval svoju ženu Sáru do jaskyne na poli Machpéla, naproti Mamré, čo znamená Chebrón v Kanaáne.

20 (KJV) And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.
20 (ECAV) A pole i s jaskyňou na ňom prešlo z Chetejcov na Abraháma ako dedičná hrobka.
