1 (HEM) ויהי איש מבן ימין ושמו קיש בן אביאל בן צרור בן בכורת בן אפיח בן איש ימיני גבור חיל׃
1 (KAT) Bol istý bohatý Benjamínec menom Kis, syn Abiela, syna Serora, syna Bechorata, syna Afiu, syna ktoréhosi Benjamínca.
1 (UKJV) Now there was a man of Benjamin, whose name was Kish, the son of Abiel, the son of Zeror, the son of Bechorath, the son of Aphiah, a Benjamite, a mighty man of power.

2 (HEM) ולו היה בן ושמו שאול בחור וטוב ואין איש מבני ישראל טוב ממנו משכמו ומעלה גבה מכל העם׃
2 (KAT) Ten mal syna menom Šaul, mladého a pekného, od neho krajšieho nebolo medzi synmi Izraela; od pleca nahor prevyšoval všetok ľud.
2 (UKJV) And he had a son, whose name was Saul, a choice young man, and a goodly: and there was not among the children of Israel a better person than he: from his shoulders and upward he was higher than any of the people.

3 (HEM) ותאבדנה האתנות לקיש אבי שאול ויאמר קיש אל שאול בנו קח נא אתך את אחד מהנערים וקום לך בקש את האתנת׃
3 (KAT) Šaulovmu otcovi Kisovi sa raz stratili oslice a Kis povedal svojmu synovi Šaulovi: „Nože vezmi si jedného zo sluhov, vyber sa a choď hľadať oslice!“
3 (UKJV) And the asses of Kish Saul's father were lost. And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with you, and arise, go seek the asses.

4 (HEM) ויעבר בהר אפרים ויעבר בארץ שלשה ולא מצאו ויעברו בארץ שעלים ואין ויעבר בארץ ימיני ולא מצאו׃
4 (KAT) Prešiel Efraimské pohorie, prešiel krajinu Salisa, a nenašli. Potom prešli kraj Salim, a nič; prešli kraj Jemini, a nenašli.
4 (UKJV) And he passed through mount Ephraim, and passed through the land of Shalisha, but they found them not: then they passed through the land of Shalim, and there they were not: and he passed through the land of the Benjamites, but they found them not.

5 (HEM) המה באו בארץ צוף ושאול אמר לנערו אשר עמו לכה ונשובה פן יחדל אבי מן האתנות ודאג לנו׃
5 (KAT) Keď prišli do krajiny Súf, povedal Šaul svojmu sluhovi, ktorý bol s ním: „Poď, vráťme sa, lebo môj otec bude mať namiesto oslíc starosť o nás.“
5 (UKJV) "And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us. "

6 (HEM) ויאמר לו הנה נא איש אלהים בעיר הזאת והאיש נכבד כל אשר ידבר בוא יבוא עתה נלכה שם אולי יגיד לנו את דרכנו אשר הלכנו עליה׃
6 (KAT) On mu povedal: „Hľa, v tomto meste je Boží muž. Je to muž vážený, všetko, čo povie, určite sa splní. Nože poďme ta, azda nám povie cestu, ktorou máme ísť.“
6 (UKJV) "And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honourable man; all that he says comes surely to pass: now let us go thither; possibly he can show us our way that we should go. "

7 (HEM) ויאמר שאול לנערו והנה נלך ומה נביא לאיש כי הלחם אזל מכלינו ותשורה אין להביא לאיש האלהים מה אתנו׃
7 (KAT) Šaul odvetil svojmu sluhovi: „Ak pôjdeme, čože vezmeme tomu mužovi? Chlieb sa nám minul z kapsí a nemáme dar, ktorý by sme dali Božiemu mužovi. Čo máme pri sebe?“
7 (UKJV) Then said Saul to his servant, But, behold, if we go, what shall we bring the man? for the bread is spent in our vessels, and there is not a present to bring to the man of God: what have we?

8 (HEM) ויסף הנער לענות את שאול ויאמר הנה נמצא בידי רבע שקל כסף ונתתי לאיש האלהים והגיד לנו את דרכנו׃
8 (KAT) Sluha opäť odpovedal Šaulovi: „Hľa, mám po ruke strieborný polšekel, dám ho Božiemu mužovi, povie nám našu cestu.“
8 (UKJV) And the servant answered Saul again, and said, Behold, I have here at hand the fourth part of a shekel of silver: that will I give to the man of God, to tell us our way.

9 (HEM) לפנים בישראל כה אמר האיש בלכתו לדרוש אלהים לכו ונלכה עד הראה כי לנביא היום יקרא לפנים הראה׃
9 (KAT) (Kto sa predtým šiel v Izraeli dopytovať Boha, hovoril: „Poďme k vidcovi!“ Lebo kto sa dnes volá prorok, volal sa predtým videc.)
9 (UKJV) (in time past in Israel, when a man went to enquire of God, thus he spoke, Come, and let us go to the seer: for he that is now called a Prophet was in time past called a Seer.)

10 (HEM) ויאמר שאול לנערו טוב דברך לכה נלכה וילכו אל העיר אשר שם איש האלהים׃
10 (KAT) Tu povedal Šaul svojmu sluhovi: „Dobre hovoríš, poďme teda!“ A išli do mesta, v ktorom bol Boží muž.
10 (UKJV) "Then said Saul to his servant, Well said; come, let us go. So they went unto the city where the man of God was. "

11 (HEM) המה עלים במעלה העיר והמה מצאו נערות יצאות לשאב מים ויאמרו להן היש בזה הראה׃
11 (KAT) Keď vystupovali na výšinu mesta, stretli dievčatá, ktoré zostupovali po vodu, a opýtali sa ich: „Je tu videc?“
11 (UKJV) And as they went up the hill to the city, they found young maidens going out to draw water, and said unto them, Is the seer here?

12 (HEM) ותענינה אותם ותאמרנה יש הנה לפניך מהר עתה כי היום בא לעיר כי זבח היום לעם בבמה׃
12 (KAT) Ony im odpovedali: „Áno, je tu pred tebou, ale sa ponáhľaj, lebo dnes prišiel do mesta, pretože dnes bude na výšine obeta pre ľud.
12 (UKJV) "And they answered them, and said, He is; behold, he is before you: make haste now, for he came to day to the city; for there is a sacrifice of the people to day in the high place: "

13 (HEM) כבאכם העיר כן תמצאון אתו בטרם יעלה הבמתה לאכל כי לא יאכל העם עד באו כי הוא יברך הזבח אחרי כן יאכלו הקראים ועתה עלו כי אתו כהיום תמצאון אתו׃
13 (KAT) Keď prídete do mesta, práve ho nájdete, skôr ako vystúpi na výšinu jesť. Lebo ľud nezačne jesť, kým on nepríde; on požehná obetu, a potom začnú jesť pozvaní. Len choďte, lebo teraz ho nájdete!“
13 (UKJV) "As soon as all of you be come into the city, all of you shall immediately find him, before he go up to the high place to eat: for the people will not eat until he comes, because he does bless the sacrifice; and afterwards they eat that be bidden. Now therefore get you up; for about this time all of you shall find him. "

14 (HEM) ויעלו העיר המה באים בתוך העיר והנה שמואל יצא לקראתם לעלות הבמה׃
14 (KAT) Išli teda do mesta. A keď vošli do mesta, práve oproti nim vychádzal Samuel, zberal sa na výšinu.
14 (UKJV) And they went up into the city: and when they were come into the city, behold, Samuel came out against them, in order to go up to the high place.

15 (HEM) ויהוה גלה את אזן שמואל יום אחד לפני בוא שאול לאמר׃
15 (KAT) Deň pred Šaulovým príchodom dal však pán Samuelovi toto videnie:
15 (UKJV) Now the LORD had told Samuel in his ear a day before Saul came, saying,

16 (HEM) כעת מחר אשלח אליך איש מארץ בנימן ומשחתו לנגיד על עמי ישראל והושיע את עמי מיד פלשתים כי ראיתי את עמי כי באה צעקתו אלי׃
16 (KAT) „Zajtra o tomto čase pošlem k tebe muža z Benjamínovej krajiny; jeho pomažeš za knieža nad mojím ľudom, Izraelom; on vyslobodí môj ľud z ruky Filištíncov, lebo som zhliadol na svoj ľud, veď ku mne preniklo ich volanie.“
16 (UKJV) Tomorrow about this time I will send you a man out of the land of Benjamin, and you shall anoint him to be captain over my people Israel, that he may save my people out of the hand of the Philistines: for I have looked upon my people, because their cry has come unto me.

17 (HEM) ושמואל ראה את שאול ויהוה ענהו הנה האיש אשר אמרתי אליך זה יעצר בעמי׃
17 (KAT) Keď Samuel uvidel Šaula, Pán mu oznámil: „Hľa, toto je muž, o ktorom som ti hovoril, on bude panovať nad mojím ľudom!“
17 (UKJV) And when Samuel saw Saul, the LORD said unto him, Behold the man whom I spoke to you of! this same shall reign over my people.

18 (HEM) ויגש שאול את שמואל בתוך השער ויאמר הגידה נא לי אי זה בית הראה׃
18 (KAT) Šaul pristúpil uprostred brány k Samuelovi a spýtal sa ho: „Povedz mi, prosím, kde je dom vidca?“
18 (UKJV) Then Saul drew near to Samuel in the gate, and said, Tell me, I pray you, where the seer's house is.

19 (HEM) ויען שמואל את שאול ויאמר אנכי הראה עלה לפני הבמה ואכלתם עמי היום ושלחתיך בבקר וכל אשר בלבבך אגיד לך׃
19 (KAT) Samuel odpovedal Šaulovi: „Ja som videc; poď predo mnou hore na výšinu, dnes budete jesť so mnou. Ráno ťa odprevadím a oznámim ti všetko, čo máš na srdci.
19 (UKJV) "And Samuel answered Saul, and said, I am the seer: go up before me unto the high place; for all of you shall eat with me to day, and tomorrow I will let you go, and will tell you all that is in your heart. "

20 (HEM) ולאתנות האבדות לך היום שלשת הימים אל תשם את לבך להם כי נמצאו ולמי כל חמדת ישראל הלוא לך ולכל בית אביך׃
20 (KAT) A pre oslice, ktoré sa ti pred troma dňami stratili, sa netráp, lebo sa našli. Veď komuže patrí všetko, čo je v Izraeli cenné? Či nie tebe a celému domu tvojho otca?“
20 (UKJV) "And as for your asses that were lost three days ago, set not your mind on them; for they are found. And on whom is all the desire of Israel? Is it not on you, and on all your father's house? "

21 (HEM) ויען שאול ויאמר הלוא בן ימיני אנכי מקטני שבטי ישראל ומשפחתי הצערה מכל משפחות שבטי בנימן ולמה דברת אלי כדבר הזה׃
21 (KAT) Šaul odpovedal Samuelovi: „Či som ja nie z Benjamína, z najmenšieho izraelského kmeňa? A môj rod nie je najmenší z rodov Benjamínovho kmeňa? Nuž prečo si hovoril ku mne takto?“
21 (UKJV) And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speak you so to me?

22 (HEM) ויקח שמואל את שאול ואת נערו ויביאם לשכתה ויתן להם מקום בראש הקרואים והמה כשלשים איש׃
22 (KAT) Vtedy Samuel pojal Šaula a jeho sluhu, zaviedol ich do siene a dal im miesto v čele pozvaných. Bolo ich zo tridsať mužov.
22 (UKJV) And Samuel took Saul and his servant, and brought them into the parlour, and made them sit in the chiefest place among them that were bidden, which were about thirty persons.

23 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל לטבח תנה את המנה אשר נתתי לך אשר אמרתי אליך שים אתה עמך׃
23 (KAT) Tu Samuel povedal kuchárovi: „Daj tú čiastku, ktorú som ti dal a o ktorej som ti povedal: Odlož ju u seba!“
23 (UKJV) And Samuel said unto the cook, Bring the portion which I gave you, of which I said unto you, Set it by you.

24 (HEM) וירם הטבח את השוק והעליה וישם לפני שאול ויאמר הנה הנשאר שים לפניך אכל כי למועד שמור לך לאמר העם קראתי ויאכל שאול עם שמואל ביום ההוא׃
24 (KAT) Kuchár vzal stehno, doniesol ho a položil pred Šaula. A (Samuel) povedal: „Hľa, toto ostalo, polož si to pred seba a jedz, lebo je to odložené pre teba na túto chvíľu, keď som povolal ľud.“ A tak Šaul v ten deň jedol so Samuelom.
24 (UKJV) And the cook took up the shoulder, and that which was upon it, and set it before Saul. And Samuel said, Behold that which is left! set it before you, and eat: for unto this time has it been kept for you since I said, I have invited the people. So Saul did eat with Samuel that day.

25 (HEM) וירדו מהבמה העיר וידבר עם שאול על הגג׃
25 (KAT) Potom zostúpil z výšiny do mesta a rozprával sa so Šaulom na streche. Samuel postlal Šaulovi na streche a tam spal.
25 (UKJV) And when they were come down from the high place into the city, Samuel communed with Saul upon the top of the house.

26 (HEM) וישכמו ויהי כעלות השחר ויקרא שמואל אל שאול הגג לאמר קומה ואשלחך ויקם שאול ויצאו שניהם הוא ושמואל החוצה׃
26 (KAT) Vstali, keď vychádzala ranná zora. Samuel zavolal Šaulovi na strechu: „Vstávaj, odprevadím ťa!“ Šaul vstal a obaja, on i Samuel, vyšli von.
26 (UKJV) And they arose early: and it came to pass about the spring of the day, that Samuel called Saul to the top of the house, saying, Up, that I may send you away. And Saul arose, and they went out both of them, he and Samuel, abroad.

27 (HEM) המה יורדים בקצה העיר ושמואל אמר אל שאול אמר לנער ויעבר לפנינו ויעבר ואתה עמד כיום ואשמיעך את דבר אלהים׃
27 (KAT) A keď zišli na kraj mesta, povedal Samuel Šaulovi: „Povedz sluhovi, aby išiel napred, ty sa trochu zastav, chcem ti oznámiť Božie slovo.“
27 (UKJV) And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on), but stand you still a while, that I may show you the word of God.
