1. kniha Samuelova

1 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.
1 (ROH) A stalo sa, keď sa už bol Samuel zostarel, že ustanovil svojich synov za sudcov v Izraelovi.

2 (KJV) Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beer-sheba.
2 (ROH) A meno jeho prvorodeného syna bolo Joel, a meno jeho druhého syna Abijaš, ktorí boli sudcami v Béršebe.

3 (KJV) And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.
3 (ROH) No, jeho synovia nechodili po jeho cestách, ale sa podali za ziskom a brali úplatok a krivili súd.

4 (KJV) Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,
4 (ROH) Vtedy sa shromaždili všetci starší Izraelovi a prišli k Samuelovi do Rámy.

5 (KJV) And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.
5 (ROH) A povedali mu: Hľa, ty si už starý, a tvoji synovia nechodia po tvojich cestách; ustanov nám teraz kráľa, aby nás súdil, ako je to u všetkých národov.

6 (KJV) But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.
6 (ROH) No, tá vec bola zlá v očiach Samuelových, keď hovorili: Daj nám kráľa, aby nás súdil. A Samuel sa modlil Hospodinovi.

7 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.
7 (ROH) Ale Hospodin riekol Samuelovi: Poslúchni na hlas ľudu vo všetkom, čo ti povedali, lebo nie teba zavrhli, ale mňa zavrhli, aby som nekraľoval nad nimi,

8 (KJV) According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.
8 (ROH) podľa všetkých skutkov, ktoré robili od toho dňa, ktorého som ich vyviedol hore z Egypta, až do tohoto dňa, že ma opúšťali a slúžili iným bohom; tak robia oni i tebe.

9 (KJV) Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.
9 (ROH) A tak teraz poslúchni na ich hlas, len že budeš dôrazne svedčiť proti nim a oznámiš im spôsob a právo kráľa, ktorý bude kraľovať nad nimi.

10 (KJV) And Samuel told all the words of the LORD unto the people that asked of him a king.
10 (ROH) A Samuel povedal všetky slová Hospodinove ľudu, ktorý si žiadal od neho kráľa.

11 (KJV) And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots.
11 (ROH) Povedal: Toto bude právo kráľa, ktorý bude kraľovať nad vami: bude brať vašich synov a postaví ich sebe ku svojim vozom a urobí ich svojimi jazdcami, a budú behať pred jeho vozom,

12 (KJV) And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots.
12 (ROH) a učiní to nato, aby si narobil veliteľov nad tisícami a veliteľov nad päťdesiatimi, a nato, aby mu orali jeho role, žali jeho žnivo a robili jeho vojenné nástroje a výstroj pre jeho vozy.

13 (KJV) And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers.
13 (ROH) Vezme aj vaše dcéry, aby mu pripravovaly masti, aby mu varily a piekly.

14 (KJV) And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants.
14 (ROH) Poberie i vaše najlepšie polia, vaše najlepšie vinice a vaše najlepšie olivnice a dá ich svojim sluhom.

15 (KJV) And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants.
15 (ROH) A bude brať desatinu vášho semena a úrody vašich viníc a dá svojim dvoranínom a svojim sluhom.

16 (KJV) And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work.
16 (ROH) A taktiež vezme vašich najschopnejších sluhov a vaše najspôsobnejšie dievky a vašich najvýbornejších mládencov i vašich oslov a upotrebí ich pre svoju prácu.

17 (KJV) He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.
17 (ROH) Desiatky bude brať z vášho stáda, a vy mu budete sluhami.

18 (KJV) And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.
18 (ROH) A budete kričať toho dňa pre svojho kráľa, ktorého si zvolíte, ale neohlási sa vám Hospodin toho dňa.

19 (KJV) Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us;
19 (ROH) Avšak ľud nechcel počuť na hlas Samuelov, ale povedali: Nie, ale kráľ bude nad nami.

20 (KJV) That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles.
20 (ROH) A budeme aj my jako všetky iné národy, a bude nás súdiť náš kráľ a vyjde pred nami a bude bojovať naše boje.

21 (KJV) And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the LORD.
21 (ROH) A Samuel vypočujúc všetky slová ľudu rozpovedal ich Hospodinovi.

22 (KJV) And the LORD said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.
22 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol Samuelovi: Poslúchni na ich hlas a ustanovíš im kráľa. A Samuel povedal mužom Izraelovým: Iďte každý do svojho mesta.
