1Sam 7, 1-17

1 (HEM) ויבאו אנשי קרית יערים ויעלו את ארון יהוה ויבאו אתו אל בית אבינדב בגבעה ואת אלעזר בנו קדשו לשמר את ארון יהוה׃
1 (UKJV) And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

2 (HEM) ויהי מיום שבת הארון בקרית יערים וירבו הימים ויהיו עשרים שנה וינהו כל בית ישראל אחרי יהוה׃
2 (UKJV) "And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD. "

3 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל אל כל בית ישראל לאמר אם בכל לבבכם אתם שבים אל יהוה הסירו את אלהי הנכר מתוככם והעשתרות והכינו לבבכם אל יהוה ועבדהו לבדו ויצל אתכם מיד פלשתים׃
3 (UKJV) And Samuel spoke unto all the house of Israel, saying, If all of you do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

4 (HEM) ויסירו בני ישראל את הבעלים ואת העשתרת ויעבדו את יהוה לבדו׃
4 (UKJV) Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל קבצו את כל ישראל המצפתה ואתפלל בעדכם אל יהוה׃
5 (UKJV) And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

6 (HEM) ויקבצו המצפתה וישאבו מים וישפכו לפני יהוה ויצומו ביום ההוא ויאמרו שם חטאנו ליהוה וישפט שמואל את בני ישראל במצפה׃
6 (UKJV) And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

7 (HEM) וישמעו פלשתים כי התקבצו בני ישראל המצפתה ויעלו סרני פלשתים אל ישראל וישמעו בני ישראל ויראו מפני פלשתים׃
7 (UKJV) And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 (HEM) ויאמרו בני ישראל אל שמואל אל תחרש ממנו מזעק אל יהוה אלהינו וישענו מיד פלשתים׃
8 (UKJV) And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

9 (HEM) ויקח שמואל טלה חלב אחד ויעלה עולה כליל ליהוה ויזעק שמואל אל יהוה בעד ישראל ויענהו יהוה׃
9 (UKJV) "And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. "

10 (HEM) ויהי שמואל מעלה העולה ופלשתים נגשו למלחמה בישראל וירעם יהוה בקול גדול ביום ההוא על פלשתים ויהמם וינגפו לפני ישראל׃
10 (UKJV) "And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and humiliated them; and they were smitten before Israel. "

11 (HEM) ויצאו אנשי ישראל מן המצפה וירדפו את פלשתים ויכום עד מתחת לבית כר׃
11 (UKJV) And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and stroke them, until they came under Bethcar.

12 (HEM) ויקח שמואל אבן אחת וישם בין המצפה ובין השן ויקרא את שמה אבן העזר ויאמר עד הנה עזרנו יהוה׃
12 (UKJV) Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Until now has the LORD helped us.

13 (HEM) ויכנעו הפלשתים ולא יספו עוד לבוא בגבול ישראל ותהי יד יהוה בפלשתים כל ימי שמואל׃
13 (UKJV) So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 (HEM) ותשבנה הערים אשר לקחו פלשתים מאת ישראל לישראל מעקרון ועד גת ואת גבולן הציל ישראל מיד פלשתים ויהי שלום בין ישראל ובין האמרי׃
14 (UKJV) "And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. "

15 (HEM) וישפט שמואל את ישראל כל ימי חייו׃
15 (UKJV) And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 (HEM) והלך מדי שנה בשנה וסבב בית אל והגלגל והמצפה ושפט את ישראל את כל המקומות האלה׃
16 (UKJV) And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

17 (HEM) ותשבתו הרמתה כי שם ביתו ושם שפט את ישראל ויבן שם מזבח ליהוה׃
17 (UKJV) "And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD. "

Verš 1

ויבאו אנשי קרית יערים ויעלו את ארון יהוה ויבאו אתו אל בית אבינדב בגבעה ואת אלעזר בנו קדשו לשמר את ארון יהוה׃

2Sam 6:4 - וישאהו מבית אבינדב אשר בגבעה עם ארון האלהים ואחיו הלך לפני הארון׃

Verš 10

ויהי שמואל מעלה העולה ופלשתים נגשו למלחמה בישראל וירעם יהוה בקול גדול ביום ההוא על פלשתים ויהמם וינגפו לפני ישראל׃

Joz 10:10 - ויהמם יהוה לפני ישראל ויכם מכה גדולה בגבעון וירדפם דרך מעלה בית חורן ויכם עד עזקה ועד מקדה׃

ויאמר שמואל אל כל בית ישראל לאמר אם בכל לבבכם אתם שבים אל יהוה הסירו את אלהי הנכר מתוככם והעשתרות והכינו לבבכם אל יהוה ועבדהו לבדו ויצל אתכם מיד פלשתים׃

Dt 6:13 - את יהוה אלהיך תירא ואתו תעבד ובשמו תשבע׃

Dt 10:20 - את יהוה אלהיך תירא אתו תעבד ובו תדבק ובשמו תשבע׃

Mt 4:10 - ויאמר אליו ישוע סור ממני השטן כי כתוב ליהוה אלהיך תשתחוה ואותו לבדו תעבד׃

Lk 4:8 - ויען ישוע ויאמר אליו סור ממני השטן כי כתוב ליהוה אלהיך תשתחוה ואתו תעבד׃

Verš 12

ויקח שמואל אבן אחת וישם בין המצפה ובין השן ויקרא את שמה אבן העזר ויאמר עד הנה עזרנו יהוה׃

1Sam 4:1 - ויהי דבר שמואל לכל ישראל ויצא ישראל לקראת פלשתים למלחמה ויחנו על האבן העזר ופלשתים חנו באפק׃

Verš 17

ותשבתו הרמתה כי שם ביתו ושם שפט את ישראל ויבן שם מזבח ליהוה׃

1Sam 8:4 - ויתקבצו כל זקני ישראל ויבאו אל שמואל הרמתה׃

1Sam 7,2 - Prekladáme podľa LXX. Pôvodina: "nariekal za Pánom" nedáva dobrý zmysel.

1Sam 7,3-4 - Bál bol bohom Kanaánčanov, ktorého často uctievali aj Izraeliti. Jeho družka bola Aštarta, bohyňa lásky a úrodnosti. Zasväcovali jej stromy a koly, zvané ašery (ášery); niekedy sa aj sama bohyňa volala Ašera a koly jej zasvätené volali sa aštarty. Tieto mali Izraeliti odstrániť. – Keď sa hovorí o báloch, rozumejú sa Bálove modly. Pomníky, stĺpy stavané k úcte Bála, volali sa maséby.

1Sam 7,5 - Masfa, asi dnešné Tel en-Nasbe, bola 13 km severne od Jeruzalema, alebo dnešné Nebi Samuil, 2 hod. od Jeruzalema na sever.

1Sam 7,6 - Vylievali vodu na znak pokánia. Označovali tým, že si podobne vylievajú, odhaľujú pred Bohom srdcia (porov. 2,19; podobný zmysel majú aj naše nábožné "výlevy"). – Samuel nebol len prorokom, ale aj sudcom, posledným sudcom Izraelitov.

1Sam 7,11 - Mesto tohto mena je ináč neznáme. Možno, že to bol Bethoron, ktorý ležal pri ceste do Filištínska. Iní myslia na Ain Karin, poldruhej hodiny juhozápadne od Jeruzalema.

1Sam 7,12 - Mesto Sen je neznáme. Azda to bola Jesana, severne od Betela (2 Krn 13,19), hoci je ťažko si myslieť, že by Filištínci boli utekali tým smerom. Preto myslia iní na Asenu (Joz 15,33), ktorá ležala asi na ceste z Masfy do Azotu. – O "Kameni pomoci" (Abenezra) porov. 4,1.

1Sam 7,14 - Amorejčania boli ináč nepriateľmi Izraelitov (Nm 13,30; Joz 5,1; 7,2.7; 10,5; Sdc 1,34; 3,5). Poznámka, že teraz bol medzi nimi a Izraelitmi pokoj, vysvetľuje, ako mohli Izraeliti dosiahnuť také úspechy proti Filištíncom.

1Sam 7,16 - V Beteli (dnešný Betín) sa Boh dva razy zjavil Jakubovi. Galgala je dnešná Džižilja, juhozápadne od Šíla.

1Sam 7,17 - Oltár v Ráme postavil Samuel asi na rozkaz Boží, lebo ináč mali Izraeliti oltár len pri svätostánku.
