1 (HEM) ויבאו אנשי קרית יערים ויעלו את ארון יהוה ויבאו אתו אל בית אבינדב בגבעה ואת אלעזר בנו קדשו לשמר את ארון יהוה׃
1 (KAT) Obyvatelia Kirjatiarimu prišli, odniesli Pánovu archu a zaniesli ju do domu Abinadaba na návrší. Jeho syna Eleazara však zasvätili, aby strážil Pánovu archu.
1 (UKJV) And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

2 (HEM) ויהי מיום שבת הארון בקרית יערים וירבו הימים ויהיו עשרים שנה וינהו כל בית ישראל אחרי יהוה׃
2 (KAT) Veľa dní minulo odo dňa, čo bola archa v Kirjatiarime - dvadsať rokov bolo tomu -, a celý dom Izraela sa s plačom obrátil k Pánovi.
2 (UKJV) "And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD. "

3 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל אל כל בית ישראל לאמר אם בכל לבבכם אתם שבים אל יהוה הסירו את אלהי הנכר מתוככם והעשתרות והכינו לבבכם אל יהוה ועבדהו לבדו ויצל אתכם מיד פלשתים׃
3 (KAT) Vtedy povedal Samuel celému Izraelovmu domu: „Ak sa chcete celým srdcom obrátiť k Pánovi, odstráňte spomedzi seba cudzích bohov a aštarty a prilipnite srdcom k Pánovi; slúžte jemu samému a vyslobodí vás z ruky Filištíncov.“
3 (UKJV) And Samuel spoke unto all the house of Israel, saying, If all of you do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

4 (HEM) ויסירו בני ישראל את הבעלים ואת העשתרת ויעבדו את יהוה לבדו׃
4 (KAT) Synovia Izraela odstránili teda bálov a aštarty a slúžili samému Pánovi.
4 (UKJV) Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל קבצו את כל ישראל המצפתה ואתפלל בעדכם אל יהוה׃
5 (KAT) A Samuel povedal: „Zhromaždite celý Izrael do Masfy, budem sa za vás modliť k Pánovi!“
5 (UKJV) And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

6 (HEM) ויקבצו המצפתה וישאבו מים וישפכו לפני יהוה ויצומו ביום ההוא ויאמרו שם חטאנו ליהוה וישפט שמואל את בני ישראל במצפה׃
6 (KAT) A tak sa zhromaždili do Masfy, čerpali a vylievali vodu pred Pánom, postili sa v ten deň a hovorili tam: „Zhrešili sme proti Pánovi.“ A Samuel súdil v Masfe Izrael.
6 (UKJV) And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

7 (HEM) וישמעו פלשתים כי התקבצו בני ישראל המצפתה ויעלו סרני פלשתים אל ישראל וישמעו בני ישראל ויראו מפני פלשתים׃
7 (KAT) Keď sa Filištínci dopočuli, že sa synovia Izraela zhromaždili v Masfe, tiahli filištínske kniežatá proti Izraelu. Počuli to Izraeliti a zľakli sa Filištíncov.
7 (UKJV) And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 (HEM) ויאמרו בני ישראל אל שמואל אל תחרש ממנו מזעק אל יהוה אלהינו וישענו מיד פלשתים׃
8 (KAT) Synovia Izraela hovorili Samuelovi: „Neprestávaj volať za nás k Pánovi, nášmu Bohu, aby nás vyslobodil z ruky Filištíncov!“
8 (UKJV) And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

9 (HEM) ויקח שמואל טלה חלב אחד ויעלה עולה כליל ליהוה ויזעק שמואל אל יהוה בעד ישראל ויענהו יהוה׃
9 (KAT) Samuel vzal mladé jahňa a úplne ho obetoval Pánovi ako celopal. A Samuel volal k Pánovi za Izraelitov a Pán ho vypočul.
9 (UKJV) "And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him. "

10 (HEM) ויהי שמואל מעלה העולה ופלשתים נגשו למלחמה בישראל וירעם יהוה בקול גדול ביום ההוא על פלשתים ויהמם וינגפו לפני ישראל׃
10 (KAT) Kým totiž Samuel prinášal obetu, Filištínci nastúpili do boja proti Izraelitom. Ale Pán zahrmel v ten deň veľkým dunením nad Filištíncami a podesil ich, takže Izraelitom podľahli.
10 (UKJV) "And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and humiliated them; and they were smitten before Israel. "

11 (HEM) ויצאו אנשי ישראל מן המצפה וירדפו את פלשתים ויכום עד מתחת לבית כר׃
11 (KAT) Nato izraelskí mužovia vytiahli z Masfy, prenasledovali Filištíncov a porazili ich pod Bet-Karom.
11 (UKJV) And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and stroke them, until they came under Bethcar.

12 (HEM) ויקח שמואל אבן אחת וישם בין המצפה ובין השן ויקרא את שמה אבן העזר ויאמר עד הנה עזרנו יהוה׃
12 (KAT) Potom vzal Samuel kameň, položil ho medzi Masfou a Senom a dal mu meno „Kameň pomoci“ a povedal: „Potiaľto nám pomáhal Pán.“
12 (UKJV) Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Until now has the LORD helped us.

13 (HEM) ויכנעו הפלשתים ולא יספו עוד לבוא בגבול ישראל ותהי יד יהוה בפלשתים כל ימי שמואל׃
13 (KAT) Takto boli Filištínci pokorení a neprišli viac na územie Izraelitov: Pánova ruka doliehala na Filištíncov cez celý Samuelov život.
13 (UKJV) So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 (HEM) ותשבנה הערים אשר לקחו פלשתים מאת ישראל לישראל מעקרון ועד גת ואת גבולן הציל ישראל מיד פלשתים ויהי שלום בין ישראל ובין האמרי׃
14 (KAT) Mestá, ktoré Filištínci odňali Izraelitom, vrátili sa späť k Izraelu od Akaronu až po Gét; aj ich okolie Izrael oslobodil od Filištíncov. - Zato medzi Izraelom a Amorejcami panoval pokoj.
14 (UKJV) "And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites. "

15 (HEM) וישפט שמואל את ישראל כל ימי חייו׃
15 (KAT) A Samuel súdil Izrael po všetky dni svojho života.
15 (UKJV) And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 (HEM) והלך מדי שנה בשנה וסבב בית אל והגלגל והמצפה ושפט את ישראל את כל המקומות האלה׃
16 (KAT) Chodil z roka na rok a obišiel Betel, Galgalu a Masfu a súdil Izrael na všetkých týchto miestach.
16 (UKJV) And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

17 (HEM) ותשבתו הרמתה כי שם ביתו ושם שפט את ישראל ויבן שם מזבח ליהוה׃
17 (KAT) Jeho sídlom však bola Ramata, lebo tam mal dom a tam súdil Izrael. Tam postavil aj oltár Pánovi.
17 (UKJV) "And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD. "
