1 (HEM) ויהי ארון יהוה בשדה פלשתים שבעה חדשים׃
1 (KAT) Pánova archa bola v kraji Filištíncov sedem mesiacov.

2 (HEM) ויקראו פלשתים לכהנים ולקסמים לאמר מה נעשה לארון יהוה הודענו במה נשלחנו למקומו׃
2 (KAT) Potom zvolali Filištínci kňazov a veštcov a pýtali sa: „Čo máme robiť s Pánovou archou? Dajte nám vedieť, ako ju máme poslať na jej miesto?“
2 (UKJV) And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.

3 (HEM) ויאמרו אם משלחים את ארון אלהי ישראל אל תשלחו אתו ריקם כי השב תשיבו לו אשם אז תרפאו ונודע לכם למה לא תסור ידו מכם׃
3 (KAT) Oni odpovedali: „Ak odošlete archu Boha Izraelitov, nepošlite ju naprázdno, ale v každom prípade dajte zmierny dar! Vtedy sa uzdravíte a dozviete sa, prečo od vás neodstúpi jeho ruka.“
3 (UKJV) "And they said, If all of you send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any way return him a trespass offering: then all of you shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you. "

4 (HEM) ויאמרו מה האשם אשר נשיב לו ויאמרו מספר סרני פלשתים חמשה עפלי זהב וחמשה עכברי זהב כי מגפה אחת לכלם ולסרניכם׃

5 (HEM) ועשיתם צלמי עפליכם וצלמי עכבריכם המשחיתם את הארץ ונתתם לאלהי ישראל כבוד אולי יקל את ידו מעליכם ומעל אלהיכם ומעל ארצכם׃
5 (KAT) Urobte teda podoby svojich vredov a podoby svojich myší, ktoré nivočia krajinu, a vzdajte chválu Bohu Izraelitov, azda sníme svoju ruku z vás, z vášho boha a z vašej krajiny!
5 (UKJV) "Wherefore all of you shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that ruin the land; and all of you shall give glory unto the God of Israel: possibly he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land. "

6 (HEM) ולמה תכבדו את לבבכם כאשר כבדו מצרים ופרעה את לבם הלוא כאשר התעלל בהם וישלחום וילכו׃
6 (KAT) Prečo si zatvrdzujete srdcia, ako si zatvrdzovali srdcia Egypťania a faraón? Či ich neprepustili? A neodišli, čo ako ich utláčal?!
6 (UKJV) Wherefore then do all of you harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?

7 (HEM) ועתה קחו ועשו עגלה חדשה אחת ושתי פרות עלות אשר לא עלה עליהם על ואסרתם את הפרות בעגלה והשיבתם בניהם מאחריהם הביתה׃

8 (HEM) ולקחתם את ארון יהוה ונתתם אתו אל העגלה ואת כלי הזהב אשר השבתם לו אשם תשימו בארגז מצדו ושלחתם אתו והלך׃
8 (KAT) Potom vezmite Pánovu archu, položte ju na voz, zlaté predmety, ktoré mu dávate ako zmierny dar, položte vedľa nej do truhličky a nechajte ju, nech ide!
8 (UKJV) "And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which all of you return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go. "

9 (HEM) וראיתם אם דרך גבולו יעלה בית שמש הוא עשה לנו את הרעה הגדולה הזאת ואם לא וידענו כי לא ידו נגעה בנו מקרה הוא היה לנו׃

12 (HEM) וישרנה הפרות בדרך על דרך בית שמש במסלה אחת הלכו הלך וגעו ולא סרו ימין ושמאול וסרני פלשתים הלכים אחריהם עד גבול בית שמש׃
12 (KAT) A kravy išli rovnou cestou do Betsamesu, išli tou istou cestou a stále ručali; neodbočili ani napravo, ani naľavo. Filištínske kniežatá išli za nimi až po hranice Betsamesu.

16 (HEM) וחמשה סרני פלשתים ראו וישבו עקרון ביום ההוא׃

18 (HEM) ועכברי הזהב מספר כל ערי פלשתים לחמשת הסרנים מעיר מבצר ועד כפר הפרזי ועד אבל הגדולה אשר הניחו עליה את ארון יהוה עד היום הזה בשדה יהושע בית השמשי׃
18 (KAT) A zlaté myši podľa počtu miest piatich kniežat, od opevnených miest až po neohradené dediny. Veľký kameň, na ktorý položili Pánovu archu, je podnes na poli Betsamesana Jozueho.
18 (UKJV) And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remains unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite.

19 (HEM) ויך באנשי בית שמש כי ראו בארון יהוה ויך בעם שבעים איש חמשים אלף איש ויתאבלו העם כי הכה יהוה בעם מכה גדולה׃
19 (KAT) Pán však potrestal obyvateľov Betsamesu, lebo pozerali do Pánovej archy. Udrel z ľudu sedemdesiat mužov (päťdesiattisíc mužov). Ľud žialil, lebo Pán ťažko potrestal ľud.
19 (UKJV) And he stroke the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he stroke of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.

20 (HEM) ויאמרו אנשי בית שמש מי יוכל לעמד לפני יהוה האלהים הקדוש הזה ואל מי יעלה מעלינו׃
20 (KAT) A obyvatelia Betsamesu hovorili: „Kto obstojí pred Pánom, Bohom, takým svätým! A ku komuže z nás vystúpi?“
20 (UKJV) And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?

21 (HEM) וישלחו מלאכים אל יושבי קרית יערים לאמר השבו פלשתים את ארון יהוה רדו העלו אתו אליכם׃
21 (KAT) Preto poslali poslov k obyvateľom Kirjatiarimu s odkazom: „Filištínci vrátili Pánovu archu, poďte, odneste si ju k vám!“
21 (UKJV) "And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come all of you down, and fetch it up to you. "
