1 (HEM) ויאספו פלשתים את מחניהם למלחמה ויאספו שכה אשר ליהודה ויחנו בין שוכה ובין עזקה באפס דמים׃
1 (KAT) Filištínci zhromaždili vojsko na boj, zoskupili sa v Sochu, ktoré je v Júdsku, a táborili medzi Sochom a Azekou v Efes Dammim.
1 (UKJV) Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongs to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.

2 (HEM) ושאול ואיש ישראל נאספו ויחנו בעמק האלה ויערכו מלחמה לקראת פלשתים׃
2 (KAT) Šaul a izraelskí mužovia sa zhromaždili a táborili v Terebintovom údolí a zriadili sa do boja proti Filištíncom.
2 (UKJV) And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and pitched by the valley of Elah, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.

3 (HEM) ופלשתים עמדים אל ההר מזה וישראל עמדים אל ההר מזה והגיא ביניהם׃
3 (KAT) Filištínci stáli na návrší z tejto a Izraeliti na návrší z tamtej strany; medzi nimi bolo údolie.
3 (UKJV) And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.

4 (HEM) ויצא איש הבנים ממחנות פלשתים גלית שמו מגת גבהו שש אמות וזרת׃
4 (KAT) Tu z tábora Filištíncov vystúpil muž, prostredník, menom Goliáš z Gétu. Bol vysoký šesť lakťov a jednu piaď.
4 (UKJV) And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

5 (HEM) וכובע נחשת על ראשו ושריון קשקשים הוא לבוש ומשקל השריון חמשת אלפים שקלים נחשת׃

5 (UKJV) "And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of armour formed by chains; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass. "

6 (KAT) Na nohách mal kovové holene, na pleci kovový oštep.
6 (UKJV) And he had protective leg armor of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.

7 (HEM) וחץ חניתו כמנור ארגים ולהבת חניתו שש מאות שקלים ברזל ונשא הצנה הלך לפניו׃

7 (UKJV) "And the staff of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him. "

8 (HEM) ויעמד ויקרא אל מערכת ישראל ויאמר להם למה תצאו לערך מלחמה הלוא אנכי הפלשתי ואתם עבדים לשאול ברו לכם איש וירד אלי׃

9 (HEM) אם יוכל להלחם אתי והכני והיינו לכם לעבדים ואם אני אוכל לו והכיתיו והייתם לנו לעבדים ועבדתם אתנו׃
9 (KAT) Ak bude vládať bojovať so mnou a porazí ma, budeme vašimi sluhami, ale ak ho premôžem a porazím ja, budete vy našimi sluhami a budete nám slúžiť.“
9 (UKJV) If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall all of you be our servants, and serve us.

10 (HEM) ויאמר הפלשתי אני חרפתי את מערכות ישראל היום הזה תנו לי איש ונלחמה יחד׃
10 (KAT) Potom Filištínec povedal: „Dnes som sa posmieval izraelským šíkom! Dajte mi muža, nech spolu bojujeme!“
10 (UKJV) "And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together. "

11 (HEM) וישמע שאול וכל ישראל את דברי הפלשתי האלה ויחתו ויראו מאד׃
11 (KAT) Keď Šaul a celý Izrael počul tieto slová Filištínca, naľakali sa a veľmi sa báli.
11 (UKJV) When Saul and all Israel heard those words of the Philistine, they were dismayed, and greatly afraid.

12 (HEM) ודוד בן איש אפרתי הזה מבית לחם יהודה ושמו ישי ולו שמנה בנים והאיש בימי שאול זקן בא באנשים׃

15 (KAT) Dávid odchádzal od Šaula do Betlehema pásť ovce svojho otca.
15 (UKJV) But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.

16 (HEM) ויגש הפלשתי השכם והערב ויתיצב ארבעים יום׃
16 (KAT) A Filištínec sa približoval ráno i večer a staval sa štyridsať dní.
16 (UKJV) And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.

17 (HEM) ויאמר ישי לדוד בנו קח נא לאחיך איפת הקליא הזה ועשרה לחם הזה והרץ המחנה לאחיך׃
17 (KAT) Vtedy povedal Izai svojmu synovi Dávidovi: „Vezmi svojim bratom efu týchto pražených zŕn a týchto desať chlebov a bež za svojimi bratmi do tábora!
17 (UKJV) "And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for your brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp of your brethren; "

18 (HEM) ואת עשרת חרצי החלב האלה תביא לשר האלף ואת אחיך תפקד לשלום ואת ערבתם תקח׃
18 (KAT) A týchto desať hrudiek syra vezmi plukovníkovi! Svojich bratov navštív s pozdravom a dones ich žold!
18 (UKJV) And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how your brethren fare, and take their pledge.

19 (HEM) ושאול והמה וכל איש ישראל בעמק האלה נלחמים עם פלשתים׃

19 (UKJV) Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.

20 (HEM) וישכם דוד בבקר ויטש את הצאן על שמר וישא וילך כאשר צוהו ישי ויבא המעגלה והחיל היצא אל המערכה והרעו במלחמה׃

20 (UKJV) "And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle. "

23 (UKJV) And as he talked with them, behold, there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the armies of the Philistines, and spoke according to the same words: and David heard them.

24 (KAT) Keď Izraeliti uvideli toho muža, všetci utekali pred ním a veľmi sa báli.
24 (UKJV) And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him, and were sore afraid.

25 (HEM) ויאמר איש ישראל הראיתם האיש העלה הזה כי לחרף את ישראל עלה והיה האיש אשר יכנו יעשרנו המלך עשר גדול ואת בתו יתן לו ואת בית אביו יעשה חפשי בישראל׃
25 (KAT) Akýsi Izraelita hovoril: „Vidíte toho muža, čo vystupuje? Prichádza hanobiť Izrael. Muža, ktorý ho porazí, urobí kráľ veľmi bohatým, dá mu svoju dcéru a dom jeho otca oslobodí v Izraeli od dane.“
25 (UKJV) And the men of Israel said, Have all of you seen this man that has come up? surely to defy Israel is he comes up: and it shall be, that the man who kills him, the king will enrich him with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.

26 (HEM) ויאמר דוד אל האנשים העמדים עמו לאמר מה יעשה לאיש אשר יכה את הפלשתי הלז והסיר חרפה מעל ישראל כי מי הפלשתי הערל הזה כי חרף מערכות אלהים חיים׃
26 (KAT) Nato sa Dávid pýtal mužov, ktorí stáli vedľa neho: „Čo môže čakať muž, ktorý porazí toho Filištínca a sníme hanbu z Izraela? Veď ktože je tento neobrezaný Filištínec, že hanobí šíky živého Boha!“
26 (UKJV) And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

27 (HEM) ויאמר לו העם כדבר הזה לאמר כה יעשה לאיש אשר יכנו׃
27 (KAT) A ľudia mu povedali to isté: To a to dostane muž, ktorý ho porazí.
27 (UKJV) And the people answered him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that kills him.

28 (HEM) וישמע אליאב אחיו הגדול בדברו אל האנשים ויחר אף אליאב בדוד ויאמר למה זה ירדת ועל מי נטשת מעט הצאן ההנה במדבר אני ידעתי את זדנך ואת רע לבבך כי למען ראות המלחמה ירדת׃
28 (KAT) Keď počul jeho najstarší brat Eliáb, ako sa zhovára s mužmi, Eliáb sa nahneval na Dávida a povedal: „Načo si prišiel a komu si zveril tých niekoľko oviec na pastve? Ja poznám tvoju namyslenosť a zlobu tvojho srdca, že si prišiel, aby si videl vojnu.“
28 (UKJV) "And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spoke unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why came you down here? and with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride, and the naughtiness of your heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle. "

29 (HEM) ויאמר דוד מה עשיתי עתה הלוא דבר הוא׃
29 (KAT) Dávid odpovedal: „Nuž čože som urobil? Či sú to nie iba reči?“
29 (UKJV) And David said, What have I now done? Is there not a cause?

30 (HEM) ויסב מאצלו אל מול אחר ויאמר כדבר הזה וישבהו העם דבר כדבר הראשון׃
30 (KAT) Obrátil sa od neho k inému a opýtal sa to isté a ľudia mu odpovedali ako prv.
30 (UKJV) And he turned from him toward another, and spoke after the same manner: and the people answered him again after the former manner.

31 (HEM) וישמעו הדברים אשר דבר דוד ויגדו לפני שאול ויקחהו׃
31 (KAT) I rozchýrili sa reči, ktoré hovoril Dávid, oznámili ich Šaulovi a on si ho dal priviesť.
31 (UKJV) And when the words were heard which David spoke, they rehearsed them before Saul: and he sent for him.

32 (HEM) ויאמר דוד אל שאול אל יפל לב אדם עליו עבדך ילך ונלחם עם הפלשתי הזה׃
32 (KAT) Dávid hovoril Šaulovi: „Nech neklesá srdce nikomu pre neho! Tvoj sluha pôjde a bude bojovať s tým Filištíncom.“
32 (UKJV) "And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine. "

33 (HEM) ויאמר שאול אל דוד לא תוכל ללכת אל הפלשתי הזה להלחם עמו כי נער אתה והוא איש מלחמה מנעריו׃

33 (UKJV) And Saul said to David, You are not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him: for you are but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

34 (HEM) ויאמר דוד אל שאול רעה היה עבדך לאביו בצאן ובא הארי ואת הדוב ונשא שה מהעדר׃
34 (KAT) Ale Dávid vravel Šaulovi: „Tvoj sluha bol u svojho otca pastierom oviec. A keď prišiel lev (alebo medveď) a uchytil ovcu zo stáda,
34 (UKJV) And David said unto Saul, Your servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock:

35 (HEM) ויצאתי אחריו והכתיו והצלתי מפיו ויקם עלי והחזקתי בזקנו והכתיו והמיתיו׃

35 (UKJV) And I went out after him, and stroke him, and delivered it out of his mouth: and when he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, and stroke him, and slew him.

36 (HEM) גם את הארי גם הדוב הכה עבדך והיה הפלשתי הערל הזה כאחד מהם כי חרף מערכת אלהים חיים׃
36 (KAT) Aj leva, aj medveďa zrazil tvoj sluha a tento neobrezaný Filištínec bude ako jeden z nich, lebo hanobil šíky živého Boha.“
36 (UKJV) Your servant slew both the lion and the bear: and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.

37 (HEM) ויאמר דוד יהוה אשר הצלני מיד הארי ומיד הדב הוא יצילני מיד הפלשתי הזה ויאמר שאול אל דוד לך ויהוה יהיה עמך׃
37 (KAT) Dávid hovoril ešte: „Pán, ktorý ma vytrhol z moci leva a z moci medveďa, on ma vyslobodí aj z moci tohoto Filištínca.“ Nato Šaul povedal Dávidovi: „Choď a Pán nech je s tebou!“
37 (UKJV) David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with you.

38 (HEM) וילבש שאול את דוד מדיו ונתן קובע נחשת על ראשו וילבש אתו שריון׃
38 (KAT) Potom Šaul obliekol Dávida do svojho odevu, dal mu kovovú prilbu na hlavu a obliekol ho do panciera.
38 (UKJV) "And Saul armed David with his armour, and he put an helmet of brass upon his head; also he armed him with a coat of armour formed by chains. "

39 (HEM) ויחגר דוד את חרבו מעל למדיו ויאל ללכת כי לא נסה ויאמר דוד אל שאול לא אוכל ללכת באלה כי לא נסיתי ויסרם דוד מעליו׃
39 (KAT) Na odev si Dávid opásal jeho meč a pokúsil sa chodiť, lebo nebol navyknutý. Tu Dávid povedal Šaulovi: „Nevládzem v tomto chodiť, lebo nie som navyknutý.“ A Dávid zvliekol tie veci zo seba,
39 (UKJV) "And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him. "

40 (HEM) ויקח מקלו בידו ויבחר לו חמשה חלקי אבנים מן הנחל וישם אתם בכלי הרעים אשר לו ובילקוט וקלעו בידו ויגש אל הפלשתי׃
40 (KAT) vzal si do ruky svoju palicu, z potoka si vybral päť hladkých kameňov, vložil si ich do pastierskej kapsy, ktorá mu slúžila za tulec, a so svojím prakom v ruke sa približoval k Filištíncovi.
40 (UKJV) "And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in a shepherd's bag which he had, even in a pouch; and his sling was in his hand: and he drew near to the Philistine. "

41 (HEM) וילך הפלשתי הלך וקרב אל דוד והאיש נשא הצנה לפניו׃

41 (UKJV) "And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. "

42 (UKJV) And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and rosy, and of a fair countenance.

43 (HEM) ויאמר הפלשתי אל דוד הכלב אנכי כי אתה בא אלי במקלות ויקלל הפלשתי את דוד באלהיו׃
43 (KAT) A Filištínec hovoril Dávidovi: „Čo som ja pes, že ideš proti mne s palicou?“ A preklínal Dávida svojimi bohmi.
43 (UKJV) And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that you come to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

44 (HEM) ויאמר הפלשתי אל דוד לכה אלי ואתנה את בשרך לעוף השמים ולבהמת השדה׃
44 (KAT) Potom povedal Filištínec Dávidovi: „Poď ku mne a dám tvoje telo nebeským vtákom a poľnej zveri!“
44 (UKJV) And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give your flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field.

45 (HEM) ויאמר דוד אל הפלשתי אתה בא אלי בחרב ובחנית ובכידון ואנכי בא אליך בשם יהוה צבאות אלהי מערכות ישראל אשר חרפת׃
45 (KAT) Ale Dávid odpovedal Filištíncovi: „Ty ideš proti mne s mečom, kopijou a oštepom, ja však idem proti tebe v mene Pána zástupov, Boha izraelských šíkov, ktorého si hanobil.
45 (UKJV) Then said David to the Philistine, You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

46 (HEM) היום הזה יסגרך יהוה בידי והכיתך והסרתי את ראשך מעליך ונתתי פגר מחנה פלשתים היום הזה לעוף השמים ולחית הארץ וידעו כל הארץ כי יש אלהים לישראל׃
46 (KAT) Dnešného dňa ťa Pán vydá do mojej ruky, zrazím ťa, odtnem ti hlavu a mŕtvoly tábora Filištíncov dám dnes nebeským vtákom a zemskej zveri a dozvie sa celá zem, že Izrael má Boha.
46 (UKJV) "This day will the LORD deliver you into mine hand; and I will strike you, and take your head from you; and I will give the carcasses of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. "

47 (HEM) וידעו כל הקהל הזה כי לא בחרב ובחנית יהושיע יהוה כי ליהוה המלחמה ונתן אתכם בידנו׃
47 (KAT) A dozvie sa celý tento zástup, že Pán nevyslobodzuje pomocou meča a kopije. Veď vojna patrí Pánovi a vydá vás do našich rúk!“
47 (UKJV) And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saves not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD's, and he will give you into our hands.

48 (HEM) והיה כי קם הפלשתי וילך ויקרב לקראת דוד וימהר דוד וירץ המערכה לקראת הפלשתי׃
48 (KAT) Tu sa Filištínec pohol, vykročil a blížil sa k Dávidovi. Dávid však rýchlo bežal oproti šíku v ústrety Filištíncovi.
48 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came, and drew nigh to meet David, that David hastened, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

49 (HEM) וישלח דוד את ידו אל הכלי ויקח משם אבן ויקלע ויך את הפלשתי אל מצחו ותטבע האבן במצחו ויפל על פניו ארצה׃
49 (KAT) Potom Dávid siahol rukou do kapsy, vytiahol z nej kameň, praštil a zasiahol Filištínca do čela. Kameň mu vnikol do čela, takže padol tvárou na zem.
49 (UKJV) "And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and stroke the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. "

52 (KAT) Nato sa izraelskí a júdski mužovia zobrali a s pokrikom prenasledovali Filištíncov až do Gétu a až po brány Akaronu. Pozabíjaní Filištínci ležali na ceste od Saraimu až po Gét a Akaron.
52 (UKJV) And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until you come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron.

53 (HEM) וישבו בני ישראל מדלק אחרי פלשתים וישסו את מחניהם׃
53 (KAT) Keď sa Izraeliti vrátili z prenasledovania Filištíncov, vyplienili ich tábor.
53 (UKJV) And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents.

54 (HEM) ויקח דוד את ראש הפלשתי ויבאהו ירושלם ואת כליו שם באהלו׃
54 (KAT) Dávid vzal Filištíncovu hlavu a zaniesol ju do Jeruzalema, jeho výzbroj však uložil vo svojom stane.
54 (UKJV) "And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. "

55 (HEM) וכראות שאול את דוד יצא לקראת הפלשתי אמר אל אבנר שר הצבא בן מי זה הנער אבנר ויאמר אבנר חי נפשך המלך אם ידעתי׃
55 (KAT) Keď Šaul videl Dávida kráčať proti Filištíncovi, spýtal sa vojvodcu Abnera: „Abner, čí syn je tento chlapec?“ Abner odpovedal: „Ako žiješ, kráľ, neviem!“
55 (UKJV) And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As your soul lives, O king, I cannot tell.

56 (HEM) ויאמר המלך שאל אתה בן מי זה העלם׃
56 (KAT) Kráľ povedal: „Dozvedaj sa ty, čí syn je ten mladík!“
56 (UKJV) And the king said, Enquire you whose son the teenager is.

57 (HEM) וכשוב דוד מהכות את הפלשתי ויקח אתו אבנר ויבאהו לפני שאול וראש הפלשתי בידו׃
57 (KAT) A keď sa Dávid po porážke Filištínca vrátil, zachytil ho Abner a priviedol ho pred Šaula. Filištíncovu hlavu mal v ruke.
57 (UKJV) And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

58 (HEM) ויאמר אליו שאול בן מי אתה הנער ויאמר דוד בן עבדך ישי בית הלחמי׃
58 (KAT) A Šaul sa ho opýtal: „Čí syn si, chlapče?“ Dávid odpovedal: „Syn tvojho sluhu, Betlehemčana Izaiho.“
58 (UKJV) And Saul said to him, Whose son are you, you young man? And David answered, I am the son of your servant Jesse the Bethlehemite.
