1 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל אל שאול אתי שלח יהוה למשחך למלך על עמו על ישראל ועתה שמע לקול דברי יהוה׃
1 (KAT) Samuel hovoril Šaulovi: „Mňa poslal Pán, aby som ťa pomazal za kráľa nad jeho ľudom, nad Izraelom. Nuž počúvaj teraz hlas Pánových slov.
1 (UKJV) Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint you to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken you unto the voice of the words of the LORD.

2 (HEM) כה אמר יהוה צבאות פקדתי את אשר עשה עמלק לישראל אשר שם לו בדרך בעלתו ממצרים׃
2 (KAT) Toto hovorí Pán zástupov: Chcem potrestať to, čo urobil Amalek Izraelu, že sa mu postavil do cesty, keď vystupoval z Egypta.
2 (UKJV) Thus says the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

3 (HEM) עתה לך והכיתה את עמלק והחרמתם את כל אשר לו ולא תחמל עליו והמתה מאיש עד אשה מעלל ועד יונק משור ועד שה מגמל ועד חמור׃
3 (KAT) Teraz choď a poraz Amaleka. Daj do kliatby všetko, čo má, nezľutuj sa nad ním a usmrť mužov i ženy, nemluvňatá i dojčatá, voly i ovce, ťavy i osly!“
3 (UKJV) "Now go and strike Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and nursing infant, ox and sheep, camel and ass. "

4 (HEM) וישמע שאול את העם ויפקדם בטלאים מאתים אלף רגלי ועשרת אלפים את איש יהודה׃
4 (KAT) Šaul zvolal ľud a spočítal ho v Telaime: dvestotisíc pešiakov a desaťtisíc mužov z Júdska.
4 (UKJV) And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.

5 (HEM) ויבא שאול עד עיר עמלק וירב בנחל׃
5 (KAT) Potom išiel Šaul proti mestu Amalekitov a postavil sa v doline na postriežku.
5 (UKJV) And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.

6 (HEM) ויאמר שאול אל הקיני לכו סרו רדו מתוך עמלקי פן אספך עמו ואתה עשיתה חסד עם כל בני ישראל בעלותם ממצרים ויסר קיני מתוך עמלק׃
6 (KAT) Kinejcom však Šaul povedal: „Odtiahnite a vzdiaľte sa spomedzi Amalekitov, aby som vás nezmietol s nimi! Veď vy ste preukázali milosť synom Izraela, keď vystupovali z Egypta!“ Nato sa Kinejci vzdialili spomedzi Amalekitov.
6 (UKJV) And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for all of you showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

7 (HEM) ויך שאול את עמלק מחוילה בואך שור אשר על פני מצרים׃
7 (KAT) A Šaul porazil Amalekitov od Hevily až po Súr, ktorý je východne od Egypta.
7 (UKJV) And Saul stroke the Amalekites from Havilah until you come to Shur, that is opposite to Egypt.

8 (HEM) ויתפש את אגג מלך עמלק חי ואת כל העם החרים לפי חרב׃
8 (KAT) Kráľa Amalekitov Agaga chytil živého, na všetkom ľude však vyplnil kliatbu ostrím meča.
8 (UKJV) And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

9 (HEM) ויחמל שאול והעם על אגג ועל מיטב הצאן והבקר והמשנים ועל הכרים ועל כל הטוב ולא אבו החרימם וכל המלאכה נמבזה ונמס אתה החרימו׃
9 (KAT) Šaul a ľud ušetril Agaga aj to, čo bolo v stáde a čriede najlepšie, aj najtučnejšie baránky a všetko, čo bolo cenné; nechceli na tom vyplniť kliatbu. Vyplnili však kliatbu na všetkom, čo bolo podlé a biedne.
9 (UKJV) But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.

10 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אל שמואל לאמר׃
10 (KAT) Preto Pán hovoril Samuelovi:
10 (UKJV) Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,

11 (HEM) נחמתי כי המלכתי את שאול למלך כי שב מאחרי ואת דברי לא הקים ויחר לשמואל ויזעק אל יהוה כל הלילה׃
11 (KAT) „Ľutujem, že som Šaula ustanovil za kráľa, lebo odstúpil odo mňa a nesplnil moje slová.“ Samuel sa rozmrzel a volal k Pánovi celú noc.
11 (UKJV) "It repents me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night. "

12 (HEM) וישכם שמואל לקראת שאול בבקר ויגד לשמואל לאמר בא שאול הכרמלה והנה מציב לו יד ויסב ויעבר וירד הגלגל׃
12 (KAT) Včasráno sa však Samuel vybral za Šaulom. Tu Samuelovi oznámili: „Šaul išiel do Karmelu a postavil si pomník. Potom sa obrátil a prešiel dolu do Galgaly.“
12 (UKJV) And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.

13 (HEM) ויבא שמואל אל שאול ויאמר לו שאול ברוך אתה ליהוה הקימתי את דבר יהוה׃
13 (KAT) Keď Samuel prišiel k Šaulovi, Šaul mu povedal: „Nech ťa požehná Pán. Splnil som Pánovo slovo.“
13 (UKJV) And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be you of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.

14 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל ומה קול הצאן הזה באזני וקול הבקר אשר אנכי שמע׃
14 (KAT) Samuel však povedal: „A čo znamená bľačanie oviec, ktoré mi zneje v ušiach, a ručanie hoviad, ktoré počujem?“
14 (UKJV) And Samuel said, What means then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?

15 (HEM) ויאמר שאול מעמלקי הביאום אשר חמל העם על מיטב הצאן והבקר למען זבח ליהוה אלהיך ואת היותר החרמנו׃
15 (KAT) Šaul odpovedal: „Od Amalekitov to doniesli, lebo ľud ušetril, čo bolo v stáde a čriede najlepšie, aby to obetoval Pánovi, tvojmu Bohu. Na ostatnom sme splnili kliatbu.“
15 (UKJV) "And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed. "

16 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל אל שאול הרף ואגידה לך את אשר דבר יהוה אלי הלילה ויאמרו לו דבר׃
16 (KAT) Nato Samuel povedal Šaulovi: „Nechaj to! Oznámim ti, čo mi hovoril Pán tejto noci.“ Povedal mu: „Hovor!“
16 (UKJV) Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell you what the LORD has said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.

17 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל הלוא אם קטן אתה בעיניך ראש שבטי ישראל אתה וימשחך יהוה למלך על ישראל׃
17 (KAT) A Samuel hovoril: „Nie si hlavou izraelských kmeňov, hoci si vo vlastných očiach malý? Pán ťa pomazal za kráľa nad Izraelom.
17 (UKJV) And Samuel said, When you were little in your own sight, were you not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel?

18 (HEM) וישלחך יהוה בדרך ויאמר לך והחרמתה את החטאים את עמלק ונלחמת בו עד כלותם אתם׃
18 (KAT) Pán ťa vypravil na cestu a povedal: »Choď, splň kliatbu na hriešnikoch, na Amalekitoch, a bojuj proti nim, kým ich nezničíš.«
18 (UKJV) And the LORD sent you on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.

19 (HEM) ולמה לא שמעת בקול יהוה ותעט אל השלל ותעש הרע בעיני יהוה׃
19 (KAT) Nuž prečo si nepočúval Pánov hlas, ale vrhol si sa na korisť a urobil si, čo sa Pánovi nepáči?“
19 (UKJV) Wherefore then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but did fly upon the spoil, and did evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 (HEM) ויאמר שאול אל שמואל אשר שמעתי בקול יהוה ואלך בדרך אשר שלחני יהוה ואביא את אגג מלך עמלק ואת עמלק החרמתי׃
20 (KAT) Šaul odpovedal Samuelovi: „Ba, počúval som Pánov hlas a šiel som cestou, po ktorej ma poslal Pán. Agaga, kráľa Amalekitov, som priviedol, ale na Amalekitoch som splnil kliatbu.
20 (UKJV) And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

21 (HEM) ויקח העם מהשלל צאן ובקר ראשית החרם לזבח ליהוה אלהיך בגלגל׃
21 (KAT) Ľud však vzal z koristi ovce a dobytok, prvotiny z toho, čo bolo dané do kliatby, aby to v Galgale obetoval Pánovi.“
21 (UKJV) But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD your God in Gilgal.

22 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל החפץ ליהוה בעלות וזבחים כשמע בקול יהוה הנה שמע מזבח טוב להקשיב מחלב אילים׃
22 (KAT) Samuel odpovedal: „Azda sa Pánovi páčia celopaly a obety tak, ako poslušnosť Pánovmu hlasu? Veď poslušnosť je lepšia než obeta a poddanosť lepšia ako tuk baranov!
22 (UKJV) And Samuel said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

23 (HEM) כי חטאת קסם מרי ואון ותרפים הפצר יען מאסת את דבר יהוה וימאסך ממלך׃
23 (KAT) Lebo odbojnosť je (ako) hriech čarodejníctva, svojvoľnosť je (ako) hriech modlárstva. Pretože si pohrdol Pánovým slovom, zavrhne ťa, nebudeš kráľom!“
23 (UKJV) For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.

24 (HEM) ויאמר שאול אל שמואל חטאתי כי עברתי את פי יהוה ואת דבריך כי יראתי את העם ואשמע בקולם׃
24 (KAT) Šaul povedal Samuelovi: „Zhrešil som, lebo som prestúpil Pánov príkaz a tvoje slová, keď som sa bál ľudu a počúval som na ich hlas.
24 (UKJV) And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and your words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.

25 (HEM) ועתה שא נא את חטאתי ושוב עמי ואשתחוה ליהוה׃
25 (KAT) Teraz však odpusť, prosím, môj hriech a vráť sa so mnou, chcem sa klaňať Pánovi.“
25 (UKJV) Now therefore, I pray you, pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD.

26 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל אל שאול לא אשוב עמך כי מאסתה את דבר יהוה וימאסך יהוה מהיות מלך על ישראל׃
26 (KAT) Ale Samuel odpovedal Šaulovi: „Nevrátim sa s tebou. Pretože si pohrdol Pánovým slovom, Pán ťa zavrhol, aby si nebol kráľom nad Izraelom.“
26 (UKJV) And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with you: for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.

27 (HEM) ויסב שמואל ללכת ויחזק בכנף מעילו ויקרע׃
27 (KAT) Keď sa Samuel obrátil na odchod, on chytil okraj jeho plášťa a ten sa odtrhol.
27 (UKJV) And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.

28 (HEM) ויאמר אליו שמואל קרע יהוה את ממלכות ישראל מעליך היום ונתנה לרעך הטוב ממך׃
28 (KAT) A Samuel mu povedal: „Pán dnes odtrhol od teba kráľovstvo Izraela a dal ho tvojmu blížnemu, ktorý je lepší ako ty.
28 (UKJV) And Samuel said unto him, The LORD has rent the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbour of yours, that is better than you.

29 (HEM) וגם נצח ישראל לא ישקר ולא ינחם כי לא אדם הוא להנחם׃
29 (KAT) A Pevný Izraela neluhá a neľutuje, on nie je človek, aby ľutoval.“
29 (UKJV) And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

30 (HEM) ויאמר חטאתי עתה כבדני נא נגד זקני עמי ונגד ישראל ושוב עמי והשתחויתי ליהוה אלהיך׃
30 (KAT) Povedal: „Zhrešil som. Ale teraz ma ucti pred staršími môjho ľudu a pred Izraelom a vráť sa so mnou, budem sa klaňať Pánovi, tvojmu Bohu.“
30 (UKJV) Then he said, I have sinned: yet honour me now, I pray you, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.

31 (HEM) וישב שמואל אחרי שאול וישתחו שאול ליהוה׃
31 (KAT) Samuel sa teda vrátil za Šaulom a Šaul sa klaňal Pánovi.
31 (UKJV) "So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD. "

32 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל הגישו אלי את אגג מלך עמלק וילך אליו אגג מעדנת ויאמר אגג אכן סר מר המות׃
32 (KAT) Potom hovoril Samuel: „Priveďte ku mne Agaga, kráľa Amalekitov!“ Agag prišiel k nemu a chvel sa. Agag povedal: „Aká trpká je smrť!“
32 (UKJV) Then said Samuel, Bring all of you here to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.

33 (HEM) ויאמר שמואל כאשר שכלה נשים חרבך כן תשכל מנשים אמך וישסף שמואל את אגג לפני יהוה בגלגל׃
33 (KAT) Samuel však vravel: „Ako tvoj meč robil ženy bezdetnými, tak bude medzi ženami bezdetná tvoja matka.“ A Samuel Agaga rozsekal pred Pánom v Galgale.
33 (UKJV) And Samuel said, As the sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

34 (HEM) וילך שמואל הרמתה ושאול עלה אל ביתו גבעת שאול׃
34 (KAT) Potom šiel Samuel do Rámy, Šaul však išiel do svojho domova, do Šaulovej Gabay. A Samuel už nikdy nevidel Šaula až do dňa svojej smrti. Ale Samuel žialil za Šaulom, lebo Pán oľutoval, že Šaula ustanovil za kráľa nad Izraelom.
34 (UKJV) "Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul. "

35 (HEM) ולא יסף שמואל לראות את שאול עד יום מותו כי התאבל שמואל אל שאול ויהוה נחם כי המליך את שאול על ישראל׃
35 ----
35 (UKJV) And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
