1 (KJV) Then went Boaz up to the gate, and sat him down there: and, behold, the kinsman of whom Boaz spake came by; unto whom he said, Ho, such a one! turn aside, sit down here. And he turned aside, and sat down.
1 (B21) Boáz mezitím šel k městské bráně. Posadil se tam a hle - právě tudy šel onen příbuzný, o kterém předtím mluvil. Boáz mu řekl: "Pojď sem, příteli, posaď se." A tak přišel a posadil se.

2 (KJV) And he took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, Sit ye down here. And they sat down.
2 (B21) Potom Boáz pozval deset z městských stařešinů a řekl: "Posaďte se tu." A když se posadili,

3 (KJV) And he said unto the kinsman, Naomi, that is come again out of the country of Moab, selleth a parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech's:
3 (B21) pověděl tomu příbuznému: "Noemi, která se vrátila z moábského kraje, chce postoupit nárok na díl pole, který patřil našemu bratru Elimelechovi.

4 (KJV) And I thought to advertise thee, saying, Buy it before the inhabitants, and before the elders of my people. If thou wilt redeem it, redeem it: but if thou wilt not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know: for there is none to redeem it beside thee; and I am after thee. And he said, I will redeem it.
4 (B21) Řekl jsem si, že ti to dám vědět a navrhnu ti: Pořiď si ho před těmito přísedícími, před stařešiny mého lidu. Chceš-li to pole vykoupit, vykup je. Pokud je nevykoupíš, vyjádři se, ať to vím. Jsi totiž nejbližší příbuzný a já jsem hned po tobě." A on řekl: "Vykoupím je."

5 (KJV) Then said Boaz, What day thou buyest the field of the hand of Naomi, thou must buy it also of Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance.
5 (B21) Tehdy Boáz dodal: "V den, kdy od Noemi získáš nárok na to pole, získáš i Moábku Rút, vdovu po mrtvém, abys tomu mrtvému vzbudil dědice, který ponese jeho jméno."

6 (KJV) And the kinsman said, I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I mar mine own inheritance: redeem thou my right to thyself; for I cannot redeem it.
6 (B21) Načež ten příbuzný řekl: "Tak to ho vykoupit nemohu - vždyť bych ohrozil vlastní dědictví! Vykup to pole místo mě; já nemohu."

7 (KJV) Now this was the manner in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning changing, for to confirm all things; a man plucked off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbour: and this was a testimony in Israel.
7 (B21) (Za starodávna byl v Izraeli při výkupu a směně tento obyčej: Ke stvrzení každého jednání si člověk zul sandál a podal ho druhému. Tak se v Izraeli dávalo svědectví.)

8 (KJV) Therefore the kinsman said unto Boaz, Buy it for thee. So he drew off his shoe.
8 (B21) Ten příbuzný tedy Boázovi řekl: "Pořiď si ho sám," a zul si sandál.

9 (KJV) And Boaz said unto the elders, and unto all the people, Ye are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech's, and all that was Chilion's and Mahlon's, of the hand of Naomi.
9 (B21) Boáz tehdy před stařešiny a vším lidem prohlásil: "Dnes jste svědkové, že jsem od Noemi získal všechno, co patřilo Elimelechovi, i všechno, co patřilo Kiljonovi a Machlonovi.

10 (KJV) Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, have I purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead upon his inheritance, that the name of the dead be not cut off from among his brethren, and from the gate of his place: ye are witnesses this day.
10 (B21) Ano, i Moábku Rút, ženu po Machlonovi, jsem získal za manželku, abych mrtvému vzbudil dědice, aby jméno mrtvého nezmizelo z kruhu jeho bratrů a z brány jeho města. Dnes jste toho svědkové."

11 (KJV) And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:
11 (B21) Všechen lid, který byl v bráně, i stařešinové odpověděli: "Jsme svědkové. Kéž Hospodin dá, aby žena přicházející do tvého domu byla jako Ráchel a Léa, které společně zbudovaly dům Izraele! Buď úspěšný v Efratě, získej si jméno v Betlémě!

12 (KJV) And let thy house be like the house of Pharez, whom Tamar bare unto Judah, of the seed which the LORD shall give thee of this young woman.
12 (B21) Kéž ti Hospodin skrze tuto dívku dopřeje potomstvo, aby tvůj dům byl jako dům Perese, jehož porodila Támar Judovi!"

13 (KJV) So Boaz took Ruth, and she was his wife: and when he went in unto her, the LORD gave her conception, and she bare a son.
13 (B21) Boáz si tedy Rút vzal a stala se jeho ženou. Miloval se s ní a Hospodin dal, že počala a porodila syna.

14 (KJV) And the women said unto Naomi, Blessed be the LORD, which hath not left thee this day without a kinsman, that his name may be famous in Israel.
14 (B21) Ženy tehdy řekly Noemi: "Požehnán buď Hospodin, který tě ode dneška nenechá bez příbuzného. Ať má v Izraeli jméno!

15 (KJV) And he shall be unto thee a restorer of thy life, and a nourisher of thine old age: for thy daughter in law, which loveth thee, which is better to thee than seven sons, hath born him.
15 (B21) On tě vrátí do života a ve stáří se o tebe postará. Porodila ho přece tvá milující snacha - a ta je ti vzácnější než sedm synů!"

16 (KJV) And Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse unto it.
16 (B21) Noemi pak vzala dítě, položila si je na klín a byla mu chůvou.

17 (KJV) And the women her neighbours gave it a name, saying, There is a son born to Naomi; and they called his name Obed: he is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
17 (B21) Sousedky říkaly: "Noemi se narodil syn!" a daly mu jméno - pojmenovaly ho Obéd, Služebník. Ten se stal otcem Davidova otce Jišaje.

18 (KJV) Now these are the generations of Pharez: Pharez begat Hezron,
18 (B21) A toto jsou Peresova pokolení: Peres zplodil Checrona,

19 (KJV) And Hezron begat Ram, and Ram begat Amminadab,
19 (B21) Checron zplodil Rama, Ram zplodil Aminadaba,

20 (KJV) And Amminadab begat Nahshon, and Nahshon begat Salmon,
20 (B21) Aminadab zplodil Nachšona, Nachšon zplodil Salmona,

21 (KJV) And Salmon begat Boaz, and Boaz begat Obed,
21 (B21) Salmon zplodil Boáze, Boáz zplodil Obéda,

22 (KJV) And Obed begat Jesse, and Jesse begat David.
22 (B21) Obéd zplodil Jišaje, Jišaj zplodil Davida.
