Kniha proroka Barucha

1 (KJV) Therefore the Lord hath made good his word, which he pronounced against us, and against our judges that judged Israel, and against our kings, and against our princes, and against the men of Israel and Juda,
1 (KAT) Pán teda potvrdil svoje slovo, ktoré bol vypovedal proti nám i proti sudcom, ktorí súdili Izrael, proti našim kráľom, proti našim kniežatám i proti ľuďom Izraela a Júdu,

2 (KJV) To bring upon us great plagues, such as never happened under the whole heaven, as it came to pass in Jerusalem, according to the things that were written in the law of Moses;
2 (KAT) že dopustí na nás veľké nešťastia, ktoré nepreviedol pod celým nebom tak, ako ich previedol v Jeruzaleme podľa toho, čo je napísané v Mojžišovom zákone,

3 (KJV) That a man should eat the flesh of his own son, and the flesh of his own daughter.
3 (KAT) že budeme jesť každý mäso svojho syna a každý mäso svojej dcéry.

4 (KJV) Moreover he hath delivered them to be in subjection to all the kingdoms that are round about us, to be as a reproach and desolation among all the people round about, where the Lord hath scattered them.
4 (KAT) A vydal ich do područia všetkým kráľovstvám, ktoré sú okolo nás, na posmech a skazu u všetkých národov na okolí, medzi ktoré ich Pán roztratil.

5 (KJV) Thus we were cast down, and not exalted, because we have sinned against the Lord our God, and have not been obedient unto his voice.
5 (KAT) Dostali sa do poroby, a nie k nadvláde, pretože sme zhrešili proti Pánovi, svojmu Bohu, keď sme nepočúvali jeho hlas.

6 (KJV) To the Lord our God appertaineth righteousness: but unto us and to our fathers open shame, as appeareth this day.
6 (KAT) Pán je spravodlivý, nám však a našim otcom sa musí v tento deň červenať tvár.

7 (KJV) For all these plagues are come upon us, which the Lord hath pronounced against us
7 (KAT) Čo Pán vyhlásil proti nám, všetky tie nešťastia na nás dopadli.

8 (KJV) Yet have we not prayed before the Lord, that we might turn every one from the imaginations of his wicked heart.
8 (KAT) A neudobrovali sme Pánovu tvár, že by sa bol každý odvrátil od hriešnych žiadostí svojho srdca.

9 (KJV) Wherefore the Lord watched over us for evil, and the Lord hath brought it upon us: for the Lord is righteous in all his works which he hath commanded us.
9 (KAT) Nuž bedlil Pán nad nešťastím a priviedol ho na nás, veď Pán je spravodlivý vo všetkých svojich činoch, ktoré nám nariadil.

10 (KJV) Yet we have not hearkened unto his voice, to walk in the commandments of the Lord, that he hath set before us.
10 (KAT) Ale nepočúvali sme jeho hlas a nekráčali sme podľa Pánových príkazov, ktoré pred nás predložil.

11 (KJV) And now, O Lord God of Israel, that hast brought thy people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand, and high arm, and with signs, and with wonders, and with great power, and hast gotten thyself a name, as appeareth this day:
11 (KAT) Preto teda, Pane, Bože Izraela, ktorý si silnou rukou, znameniami a znakmi, veľkou mocou a zdvihnutým ramenom vyviedol svoj ľud z egyptskej krajiny a urobil si si tak meno až po dnešný deň:

12 (KJV) O Lord our God, we have sinned, we have done ungodly, we have dealt unrighteously in all thine ordinances.
12 (KAT) zhrešili sme, páchali sme ohavnosť a nespravodlivosť, Pane, náš Bože, napriek všetkým tvojim spravodlivým skutkom.

13 (KJV) Let thy wrath turn from us: for we are but a few left among the heathen, where thou hast scattered us.
13 (KAT) Nech sa od nás odvráti tvoja prchkosť, veď nás máličko ostalo medzi národmi, medzi ktoré si nás roztratil.

14 (KJV) Hear our prayers, O Lord, and our petitions, and deliver us for thine own sake, and give us favour in the sight of them which have led us away:
14 (KAT) Vyslyš, Pane, našu modlitbu a našu prosbu; vyveď nás a získaj nám milosť u tých, čo nás odviedli,

15 (KJV) That all the earth may know that thou art the Lord our God, because Israel and his posterity is called by thy name.
15 (KAT) nech vie celá zem, že ty, Pane, si náš Boh, že sa Izrael a jeho rod volal tvojím menom.

16 (KJV) O Lord, look down from thine holy house, and consider us: bow down thine ear, O Lord, to hear us.
16 (KAT) Pane, zhliadni zo svojho svätého príbytku na nás; prikloň si ucho a počuj!

17 (KJV) Open thine eyes, and behold; for the dead that are in the graves, whose souls are taken from their bodies, will give unto the Lord neither praise nor righteousness:
17 (KAT) Otvor si oči a viď, veď nie mŕtvi v podsvetí, ktorým bol z útrob odňatý duch, budú vzdávať Pánovi chválu a oslavu,

18 (KJV) But the soul that is greatly vexed, which goeth stooping and feeble, and the eyes that fail, and the hungry soul, will give thee praise and righteousness, O Lord.
18 (KAT) ale duša, ktorá sa priveľmi zarmucuje; to, čo kráča zhrbené a choré, podlomené oči a hladujúca duša bude tebe, Pane, vzdávať chválu a oslavu.

19 (KJV) Therefore we do not make our humble supplication before thee, O Lord our God, for the righteousness of our fathers, and of our kings.
19 (KAT) Veď nie pre spravodlivosť svojich otcov alebo svojich kráľov predkladáme prosby pred tvoju tvár, Pane, Bože náš!

20 (KJV) For thou hast sent out thy wrath and indignation upon us, as thou hast spoken by thy servants the prophets, saying,
20 (KAT) Veď si vyslal na nás svoju prchlivosť a svoj hnev, ako si to oznámil prostredníctvom svojich sluhov, prorokov:

21 (KJV) Thus saith the Lord, Bow down your shoulders to serve the king of Babylon: so shall ye remain in the land that I gave unto your fathers.
21 (KAT) »Toto hovorí Pán: Skloňte si plece a slúžte babylonskému kráľovi, vtedy ostanete bývať v krajine, ktorú som dal vašim otcom.

22 (KJV) But if ye will not hear the voice of the Lord, to serve the king of Babylon,
22 (KAT) Ale ak neposlúchnete Pánov hlas, že máte slúžiť babylonskému kráľovi,

23 (KJV) I will cause to cease out of the cites of Judah, and from without Jerusalem, the voice of mirth, and the voice of joy, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride: and the whole land shall be desolate of inhabitants.
23 (KAT) tak odstránim z miest Júdu a z ulíc Jeruzalema hlas radosti a hlas plesania, hlas ženícha a hlas nevesty a celá krajina bude pustatina bez obyvateľov.«

24 (KJV) But we would not hearken unto thy voice, to serve the king of Babylon: therefore hast thou made good the words that thou spakest by thy servants the prophets, namely, that the bones of our kings, and the bones of our fathers, should be taken out of their place.
24 (KAT) Lenže sme nepočúvali na tvoj hlas, že máme slúžiť babylonskému kráľovi, preto si splnil svoje slová, ktoré si riekol prostredníctvom svojich sluhov, prorokov, že kosti našich kráľov a kosti našich otcov budú vyhodené z ich miesta.

25 (KJV) And, lo, they are cast out to the heat of the day, and to the frost of the night, and they died in great miseries by famine, by sword, and by pestilence.
25 (KAT) A naozaj sú vyhodené na úpal dňa a na mrazy noci. Aj zomierali vo veľkých útrapách: od hladu, pod mečom a na mor.

26 (KJV) And the house which is called by thy name hast thou laid waste, as it is to be seen this day, for the wickedness of the house of Israel and the house of Juda.
26 (KAT) A z domu, ktorý sa menoval podľa tvojho mena, pre zločinnosť Izraelovho domu a Júdovho domu si urobil to, čím je dnešný deň.

27 (KJV) O Lord our God, thou hast dealt with us after all thy goodness, and according to all that great mercy of thine,
27 (KAT) Jednako si, Pane, Bože náš, zaobchádzal s nami podľa svojej dobrotivosti a podľa svojho veľkého milosrdenstva,

28 (KJV) As thou spakest by thy servant Moses in the day when thou didst command him to write the law before the children of Israel, saying,
28 (KAT) ako si riekol prostredníctvom svojho sluhu Mojžiša vtedy, keď si mu rozkázal napísať a Izraelitom predložiť svoj zákon. Riekol si:

29 (KJV) If ye will not hear my voice, surely this very great multitude shall be turned into a small number among the nations, where I will scatter them.
29 (KAT) »Ak nebudete počúvať môj hlas, veru sa tento veľký a početný zástup premení na hŕstku medzi národmi, medzi ktoré ich roztratím.

30 (KJV) For I knew that they would not hear me, because it is a stiffnecked people: but in the land of their captivities they shall remember themselves.
30 (KAT) Veď viem, že ma nebudú počúvať, lebo je to tvrdošijný národ. Ale v krajine, kde budú v zajatí, vstúpia si do srdca

31 (KJV) And shall know that I am the Lord their God: for I will give them an heart, and ears to hear:
31 (KAT) a budú vedieť, že ja som Pán, ich Boh. A dám im vnímavé srdce a uši,

32 (KJV) And they shall praise me in the land of their captivity, and think upon my name,
32 (KAT) takže v krajine, kde budú v zajatí, budú ma chváliť a budú spomínať na moje meno.

33 (KJV) And return from their stiff neck, and from their wicked deeds: for they shall remember the way of their fathers, which sinned before the Lord.
33 (KAT) Vtedy sa odvrátia od svojej tvrdošijnosti a od svojich zlých skutkov, pretože sa rozpamätajú na osud svojich otcov, ktorí zhrešili pred Pánom.

34 (KJV) And I will bring them again into the land which I promised with an oath unto their fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and they shall be lords of it: and I will increase them, and they shall not be diminished.
34 (KAT) Potom ich vrátim do ich zeme, ktorú som pod prísahou sľúbil ich otcom, Abrahámovi, Izákovi a Jakubovi; budú v nej vládnuť a rozmnožím ich, nebudú sa umenšovať.

35 (KJV) And I will make an everlasting covenant with them to be their God, and they shall be my people: and I will no more drive my people of Israel out of the land that I have given them.
35 (KAT) A uzavriem s nimi večnú zmluvu, že ja budem ich Bohom a oni budú mojím národom. A viac nepohnem svoj ľud, Izrael, z krajiny, ktorú som im dal.«
