1 (HEM) וילך אבימלך בן ירבעל שכמה אל אחי אמו וידבר אליהם ואל כל משפחת בית אבי אמו לאמר׃
1 (KAT) Jerobálov syn Abimelech sa vybral do Sichemu k bratom svojej matky a vravel im aj celému príbuzenstvu rodiny svojej matky:
1 (UKJV) And Abimelech the son of Jerubbaal went to Shechem unto his mother's brethren, and communed with them, and with all the family of the house of his mother's father, saying,

2 (HEM) דברו נא באזני כל בעלי שכם מה טוב לכם המשל בכם שבעים איש כל בני ירבעל אם משל בכם איש אחד וזכרתם כי עצמכם ובשרכם אני׃
2 (KAT) „Hovorte verejne všetkým sichemským občanom: Čo je vám lepšie, aby panovalo nad vami sedemdesiat mužov, všetci Jerobálovi synovia, alebo aby panoval nad vami len jeden muž? Pamätajte tiež, že ja som vaša kosť a vaše mäso!“
2 (UKJV) Speak, I pray you, in the ears of all the men of Shechem, Whether is better for you, either that all the sons of Jerubbaal, which are threescore and ten persons, reign over you, or that one reign over you? remember also that I am your bone and your flesh.

3 (HEM) וידברו אחי אמו עליו באזני כל בעלי שכם את כל הדברים האלה ויט לבם אחרי אבימלך כי אמרו אחינו הוא׃
3 (KAT) A bratia jeho matky verejne hovorili o ňom všetky tieto slová všetkým sichemským občanom a ich srdce sa naklonilo k Abimelechovi. Potom si povrávali: „On je náš brat.“
3 (UKJV) "And his mother's brethren spoke of him in the ears of all the men of Shechem all these words: and their hearts inclined to follow Abimelech; for they said, He is our brother. "

4 (HEM) ויתנו לו שבעים כסף מבית בעל ברית וישכר בהם אבימלך אנשים ריקים ופחזים וילכו אחריו׃
4 (KAT) A dali mu z chrámu Bál-berita sedemdesiat šeklov striebra. Abimelech si za ne najal povaľačských a bezočivých mužov, ktorí sa stali jeho družinou.
4 (UKJV) And they gave him threescore and ten pieces of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

5 (HEM) ויבא בית אביו עפרתה ויהרג את אחיו בני ירבעל שבעים איש על אבן אחת ויותר יותם בן ירבעל הקטן כי נחבא׃
5 (KAT) Potom išiel do domu svojho otca do Efry a pobil svojich bratov, Jerobálových synov, sedemdesiat mužov na jednom kameni. Zostal iba najmladší Jerobálov syn Joatam, lebo sa skryl.
5 (UKJV) "And he went unto his father's house at Ophrah, and slew his brethren the sons of Jerubbaal, being threescore and ten persons, upon one stone: notwithstanding yet Jotham the youngest son of Jerubbaal was left; for he hid himself. "

6 (HEM) ויאספו כל בעלי שכם וכל בית מלוא וילכו וימליכו את אבימלך למלך עם אלון מצב אשר בשכם׃
6 (KAT) Nato sa zhromaždili všetci sichemskí občania a všetci obyvatelia Mela, išli a ustanovili Abimelecha za kráľa pri pamätnom dube, ktorý stál v Sicheme.
6 (UKJV) And all the men of Shechem gathered together, and all the house of Millo, and went, and made Abimelech king, by the plain of the pillar that was in Shechem.

7 (HEM) ויגדו ליותם וילך ויעמד בראש הר גרזים וישא קולו ויקרא ויאמר להם שמעו אלי בעלי שכם וישמע אליכם אלהים׃
7 (KAT) Keď to oznámili Joatamovi, šiel, postavil sa na končiari vrchu Garizim a zvýšeným hlasom im volal: „Počujte ma, Sichemčania, aby aj vás počul Boh.
7 (UKJV) And when they told it to Jotham, he went and stood in the top of mount Gerizim, and lifted up his voice, and cried, and said unto them, Hearken unto me, all of you men of Shechem, that God may hearken unto you.

8 (HEM) הלוך הלכו העצים למשח עליהם מלך ויאמרו לזית מלוכה עלינו׃
8 (KAT) Išli raz stromy pomazať si kráľa. I povedali olive: »Kraľuj nad nami!«
8 (UKJV) "The trees went forth on a time to anoint a king over them; and they said unto the olive tree, Reign you over us. "

9 (HEM) ויאמר להם הזית החדלתי את דשני אשר בי יכבדו אלהים ואנשים והלכתי לנוע על העצים׃
9 (KAT) Ale oliva im odvetila: »Môžem ja zanechať svoju tučnosť, ktorú zvelebujú bohovia i ľudia, a ísť sa povyšovať nad stromami?«
9 (UKJV) But the olive tree said unto them, Should I leave my fatness, wherewith by me they honour God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

10 (HEM) ויאמרו העצים לתאנה לכי את מלכי עלינו׃
10 (KAT) Potom povedali stromy figovníku: »Nože poď ty a kraľuj nad nami!«
10 (UKJV) And the trees said to the fig tree, Come you, and reign over us.

11 (HEM) ותאמר להם התאנה החדלתי את מתקי ואת תנובתי הטובה והלכתי לנוע על העצים׃
11 (KAT) Ale figovník im odpovedal: »Môžem ja zanechať svoju sladkosť a tie svoje skvostné plody a ísť sa povyšovať nad stromami?«
11 (UKJV) But the fig tree said unto them, Should I forsake my sweetness, and my good fruit, and go to be promoted over the trees?

12 (HEM) ויאמרו העצים לגפן לכי את מלוכי עלינו׃
12 (KAT) Povedali teda stromy viniču: »Poď ty a kraľuj nad nami!«
12 (UKJV) Then said the trees unto the vine, Come you, and reign over us.

13 (HEM) ותאמר להם הגפן החדלתי את תירושי המשמח אלהים ואנשים והלכתי לנוע על העצים׃
13 (KAT) Vinič im však odvetil takisto: »Môžem ja zanechať svoj mušt, ktorý obveseľuje bohov i ľudí, a ísť a povyšovať sa nad stromami?«
13 (UKJV) And the vine said unto them, Should I leave my wine, which cheers God and man, and go to be promoted over the trees?

14 (HEM) ויאמרו כל העצים אל האטד לך אתה מלך עלינו׃
14 (KAT) Povedali všetky stromy bodliaku: »Poď ty a kraľuj nad nami!«
14 (UKJV) Then said all the trees unto the bramble, Come you, and reign over us.

15 (HEM) ויאמר האטד אל העצים אם באמת אתם משחים אתי למלך עליכם באו חסו בצלי ואם אין תצא אש מן האטד ותאכל את ארזי הלבנון׃
15 (KAT) Bodliak odpovedal stromom: »Ak ma vskutku pomažete, aby som bol vaším kráľom, poďte, schovajte sa v mojej tôni! Ak nie, vyšľahne oheň z bodliaka a strávi libanonské cédre.«
15 (UKJV) And the bramble said unto the trees, If in truth all of you anoint me king over you, then come and put your trust in my shadow: and if not, let fire come out of the bramble, and devour the cedars of Lebanon.

16 (HEM) ועתה אם באמת ובתמים עשיתם ותמליכו את אבימלך ואם טובה עשיתם עם ירבעל ועם ביתו ואם כגמול ידיו עשיתם לו׃
16 (KAT) Teraz teda, ak ste opravdivo a čestne konali, keď ste ustanovovali Abimelecha za kráľa, ak ste dobre urobili s Jerobálom a jeho domom, ak ste sa k nemu zachovali podľa jeho zásluh -
16 (UKJV) "Now therefore, if all of you have done truly and sincerely, in that all of you have made Abimelech king, and if all of you have dealt well with Jerubbaal and his house, and have done unto him according to the deserving of his hands; "

17 (HEM) אשר נלחם אבי עליכם וישלך את נפשו מנגד ויצל אתכם מיד מדין׃
17 (KAT) vy, za ktorých bojoval môj otec, ba až svoj život nasadil, a ktorých vyslobodil z ruky Madiánčanov -
17 (UKJV) (For my father fought for you, and adventured his life far, and delivered you out of the hand of Midian:

18 (HEM) ואתם קמתם על בית אבי היום ותהרגו את בניו שבעים איש על אבן אחת ותמליכו את אבימלך בן אמתו על בעלי שכם כי אחיכם הוא׃
18 (KAT) vy však ste sa dnes vzbúrili proti domu môjho otca a pozabíjali ste jeho synov, sedemdesiat mužov na jednom kameni, a ustanovili ste Abimelecha, syna jeho slúžky, za kráľa nad sichemskými občanmi, pretože je váš brat -,
18 (UKJV) "And all of you are risen up against my father's house this day, and have slain his sons, threescore and ten persons, upon one stone, and have made Abimelech, the son of his maidservant, king over the men of Shechem, because he is your brother;) "

19 (HEM) ואם באמת ובתמים עשיתם עם ירבעל ועם ביתו היום הזה שמחו באבימלך וישמח גם הוא בכם׃
19 (KAT) ak ste teda opravdivo a čestne urobili s Jerobálom a jeho domom v dnešný deň, radujte sa z Abimelecha a on nech sa zas raduje z vás!
19 (UKJV) If all of you then have dealt truly and sincerely with Jerubbaal and with his house this day, then rejoice all of you in Abimelech, and let him also rejoice in you:

20 (HEM) ואם אין תצא אש מאבימלך ותאכל את בעלי שכם ואת בית מלוא ותצא אש מבעלי שכם ומבית מלוא ותאכל את אבימלך׃
20 (KAT) Ale ak nie, nech vyšľahne oheň z Abimelecha a strávi sichemských občanov i Melo! A nech vyšľahne oheň zo sichemských občanov a z Mela a nech strávi Abimelecha!“
20 (UKJV) "But if not, let fire come out from Abimelech, and devour the men of Shechem, and the house of Millo; and let fire come out from the men of Shechem, and from the house of Millo, and devour Abimelech. "

21 (HEM) וינס יותם ויברח וילך בארה וישב שם מפני אבימלך אחיו׃
21 (KAT) Potom Joatam utiekol a utiahol sa do bezpečia. Odišiel do Bery a tam zostal (zo strachu) pred svojím bratom Abimelechom.
21 (UKJV) And Jotham ran away, and fled, and went to Beer, and dwelt there, for fear of Abimelech his brother.

22 (HEM) וישר אבימלך על ישראל שלש שנים׃
22 (KAT) Abimelech panoval nad Izraelom tri roky.
22 (UKJV) When Abimelech had reigned three years over Israel,

23 (HEM) וישלח אלהים רוח רעה בין אבימלך ובין בעלי שכם ויבגדו בעלי שכם באבימלך׃
23 (KAT) Potom Boh poslal zlého ducha (nezhody) medzi Abimelecha a sichemských občanov - takže sichemskí občania zostali neverní Abimelechovi -,
23 (UKJV) "Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech: "

24 (HEM) לבוא חמס שבעים בני ירבעל ודמם לשום על אבימלך אחיהם אשר הרג אותם ועל בעלי שכם אשר חזקו את ידיו להרג את אחיו׃
24 (KAT) aby tak zločin na sedemdesiatich Jerobálových synoch prešiel a ich krv zaľahla na ich brata Abimelecha, ktorý ich zavraždil, a tiež na sichemských občanov, ktorí ho povzbudzovali, aby zabil svojich bratov.
24 (UKJV) "That the cruelty done to the threescore and ten sons of Jerubbaal might come, and their blood be laid upon Abimelech their brother, which slew them; and upon the men of Shechem, which aided him in the killing of his brethren. "

25 (HEM) וישימו לו בעלי שכם מארבים על ראשי ההרים ויגזלו את כל אשר יעבר עליהם בדרך ויגד לאבימלך׃
25 (KAT) Sichemskí občania potom postavili proti nemu zálohy na vrcholoch hôr a olupovali každého, kto k nim prichádzal po ceste. Toto oznámili Abimelechovi.
25 (UKJV) And the men of Shechem set hidden attackers in wait for him in the top of the mountains, and they robbed all that came along that way by them: and it was told Abimelech.

26 (HEM) ויבא געל בן עבד ואחיו ויעברו בשכם ויבטחו בו בעלי שכם׃
26 (KAT) Tu prišiel Obedov syn Gál aj so svojimi bratmi a vošli do Sichemu. A sichemskí občania im prejavili dôveru.
26 (UKJV) And Gaal the son of Ebed came with his brethren, and went over to Shechem: and the men of Shechem put their confidence in him.

27 (HEM) ויצאו השדה ויבצרו את כרמיהם וידרכו ויעשו הלולים ויבאו בית אלהיהם ויאכלו וישתו ויקללו את אבימלך׃
27 (KAT) Vybrali sa do poľa, oberali a lisovali hrozno a potom usporiadali slávnosť. Pritom vošli do chrámu svojho boha, kde jedli a pili a preklínali Abimelecha.
27 (UKJV) And they went out into the fields, and gathered their vineyards, and trode the grapes, and made merry, and went into the house of their god, and did eat and drink, and cursed Abimelech.

28 (HEM) ויאמר געל בן עבד מי אבימלך ומי שכם כי נעבדנו הלא בן ירבעל וזבל פקידו עבדו את אנשי חמור אבי שכם ומדוע נעבדנו אנחנו׃
28 (KAT) Tu zvolal Obedov syn Gál: „Kto je Abimelech a kto je Sichemčan, aby sme mu my slúžili? A nemal by Jerobálov syn a jeho správca Zebul slúžiť mužom Sichemovho otca Emora?! Prečo by sme mali slúžiť my jemu?!
28 (UKJV) And Gaal the son of Ebed said, Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? is not he the son of Jerubbaal? and Zebul his officer? serve the men of Hamor the father of Shechem: for why should we serve him?

29 (HEM) ומי יתן את העם הזה בידי ואסירה את אבימלך ויאמר לאבימלך רבה צבאך וצאה׃
29 (KAT) Keby mi niekto dal tento ľud do ruky, odstránil by som Abimelecha!“ A vyzval Abimelecha: „Zosilni svoje vojsko a vytiahni!“
29 (UKJV) And would to God this people were under my hand! then would I remove Abimelech. And he said to Abimelech, Increase your army, and come out.

30 (HEM) וישמע זבל שר העיר את דברי געל בן עבד ויחר אפו׃
30 (KAT) Keď sa veliteľ mesta Zebul dopočul o rečiach Obedovho syna Gála, vzplanul hnevom.
30 (UKJV) And when Zebul the ruler of the city heard the words of Gaal the son of Ebed, his anger was kindled.

31 (HEM) וישלח מלאכים אל אבימלך בתרמה לאמר הנה געל בן עבד ואחיו באים שכמה והנם צרים את העיר עליך׃
31 (KAT) Ľstivo vyslal poslov k Abimelechovi a odkázal mu: „Obedov syn Gál a jeho bratia došli do Sichemu a teraz poburujú mesto proti tebe.
31 (UKJV) "And he sent messengers unto Abimelech privately, saying, Behold, Gaal the son of Ebed and his brethren be come to Shechem; and, behold, they fortify the city against you. "

32 (HEM) ועתה קום לילה אתה והעם אשר אתך וארב בשדה׃
32 (KAT) Vyber sa teda v noci aj so svojimi ľuďmi a postav sa do zálohy v poli!
32 (UKJV) Now therefore up by night, you and the people that is with you, and lie in wait in the field:

33 (HEM) והיה בבקר כזרח השמש תשכים ופשטת על העיר והנה הוא והעם אשר אתו יצאים אליך ועשית לו כאשר תמצא ידך׃
33 (KAT) A zrána, len čo vyjde slnko, vstaň a udri na mesto! On vytiahne so svojimi ľuďmi proti tebe. Potom už s ním urob, čo budeš môcť.“
33 (UKJV) And it shall be, that in the morning, as soon as the sun is up, you shall rise early, and set upon the city: and, behold, when he and the people that is with him come out against you, then may you do to them as you shall find occasion.

34 (HEM) ויקם אבימלך וכל העם אשר עמו לילה ויארבו על שכם ארבעה ראשים׃
34 (KAT) Abimelech sa vybral za noci aj so svojimi ľuďmi a postavil proti Sichemu štyri oddiely do zálohy.
34 (UKJV) And Abimelech rose up, and all the people that were with him, by night, and they laid wait against Shechem in four companies.

35 (HEM) ויצא געל בן עבד ויעמד פתח שער העיר ויקם אבימלך והעם אשר אתו מן המארב׃
35 (KAT) Keď Obedov syn Gál vytiahol a zastavil sa pri vchode do mestskej brány, vtedy vyrazil Abimelech so svojimi ľuďmi zo zálohy.
35 (UKJV) And Gaal the son of Ebed went out, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and Abimelech rose up, and the people that were with him, from lying in wait.

36 (HEM) וירא געל את העם ויאמר אל זבל הנה עם יורד מראשי ההרים ויאמר אליו זבל את צל ההרים אתה ראה כאנשים׃
36 (KAT) Keď Gál zazrel ľudí, povedal Zebulovi: „Hľa, ľudia zostupujú z vrchov!“ Ale Zebul mu odvetil: „To sa ti len zdá, že tiene vrchov sú mužovia.“
36 (UKJV) And when Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, Behold, there come people down from the top of the mountains. And Zebul said unto him, You see the shadow of the mountains as if they were men.

37 (HEM) ויסף עוד געל לדבר ויאמר הנה עם יורדים מעם טבור הארץ וראש אחד בא מדרך אלון מעוננים׃
37 (KAT) Ale Gál opäť hovoril: „Ľudia zostupujú od pupka zeme! A jeden zástup prichádza po ceste k Dubu veštcov.“
37 (UKJV) And Gaal spoke again, and said, See there come people down by the middle of the land, and another company come along by the plain of Meonenim.

38 (HEM) ויאמר אליו זבל איה אפוא פיך אשר תאמר מי אבימלך כי נעבדנו הלא זה העם אשר מאסתה בו צא נא עתה והלחם בו׃
38 (KAT) Zebul mu povedal: „Kde sú teraz tvoje ústa, ktorými si hovoril: »Kto je Abimelech, aby sme my slúžili jemu?!« Nie sú to práve tí ľudia, ktorými si ty pohŕdal? Nože, vytiahni teraz a bojuj proti nim!“
38 (UKJV) Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now your mouth, wherewith you said, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that you have despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

39 (HEM) ויצא געל לפני בעלי שכם וילחם באבימלך׃
39 (KAT) Tu Gál vytiahol na čele sichemských občanov a bojoval proti Abimelechovi.
39 (UKJV) And Gaal went out before the men of Shechem, and fought with Abimelech.

40 (HEM) וירדפהו אבימלך וינס מפניו ויפלו חללים רבים עד פתח השער׃
40 (KAT) Lenže Abimelech ho donútil k ústupu a utekal pred ním. A ležalo mnoho pobitých až po vchod do (mestskej) brány.
40 (UKJV) And Abimelech chased him, and he fled before him, and many were overthrown and wounded, even unto the entering of the gate.

41 (HEM) וישב אבימלך בארומה ויגרש זבל את געל ואת אחיו משבת בשכם׃
41 (KAT) Ale Abimelech zostal v Rume. Zebul potom vyhnal Gála a jeho bratov, nesmeli už zostať v Sicheme.
41 (UKJV) And Abimelech dwelt at Arumah: and Zebul thrust out Gaal and his brethren, that they should not dwell in Shechem.

42 (HEM) ויהי ממחרת ויצא העם השדה ויגדו לאבימלך׃
42 (KAT) Na druhý deň vyšiel ľud do poľa. Keď to oznámili Abimelechovi,
42 (UKJV) "And it came to pass on the next day, that the people went out into the field; and they told Abimelech. "

43 (HEM) ויקח את העם ויחצם לשלשה ראשים ויארב בשדה וירא והנה העם יצא מן העיר ויקם עליהם ויכם׃
43 (KAT) vzal ľudí, rozdelil ich na tri zástupy a postavil sa v poli do zálohy. Keď spozoroval, že ľud vychádza z mesta, vyrazil proti nemu, aby ho porazil.
43 (UKJV) "And he took the people, and divided them into three companies, and laid wait in the field, and looked, and, behold, the people were come forth out of the city; and he rose up against them, and stroke them. "

44 (HEM) ואבימלך והראשים אשר עמו פשטו ויעמדו פתח שער העיר ושני הראשים פשטו על כל אשר בשדה ויכום׃
44 (KAT) Abimelech so svojím oddielom zaútočil a postavil sa ku vchodu do mestskej brány. Zatiaľ druhé dva oddiely zaútočili na všetkých tých, čo boli v poli, a pobili ich.
44 (UKJV) And Abimelech, and the company that was with him, rushed forward, and stood in the entering of the gate of the city: and the two other companies ran upon all the people that were in the fields, and slew them.

45 (HEM) ואבימלך נלחם בעיר כל היום ההוא וילכד את העיר ואת העם אשר בה הרג ויתץ את העיר ויזרעה מלח׃
45 (KAT) Abimelech bojoval proti mestu celý deň. Keď mesto zaujal, pobil ľudí, ktorí v ňom boli, mesto rozbúral a posypal ho soľou.
45 (UKJV) "And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that was therein, and beat down the city, and sowed it with salt. "

46 (HEM) וישמעו כל בעלי מגדל שכם ויבאו אל צריח בית אל ברית׃
46 (KAT) Keď sa to dozvedeli obyvatelia sichemskej veže, utiahli sa do hradieb chrámu Bála zmluvy.
46 (UKJV) And when all the men of the tower of Shechem heard that, they entered into an hold of the house of the god Berith.

47 (HEM) ויגד לאבימלך כי התקבצו כל בעלי מגדל שכם׃

47 (UKJV) And it was told Abimelech, that all the men of the tower of Shechem were gathered together.

48 (HEM) ויעל אבימלך הר צלמון הוא וכל העם אשר אתו ויקח אבימלך את הקרדמות בידו ויכרת שוכת עצים וישאה וישם על שכמו ויאמר אל העם אשר עמו מה ראיתם עשיתי מהרו עשו כמוני׃
48 (KAT) Abimelech vystúpil so všetkými svojimi ľuďmi na vrch Selmon. Tam vzal do ruky sekeru, uťal zo stromu vetvu, zdvihol ju, položil si ju na plecia a povedal svojim ľuďom: „Čo ste videli robiť mňa, to rýchle robte aj vy za mnou!“
48 (UKJV) "And Abimelech got him up to mount Zalmon, he and all the people that were with him; and Abimelech took an axe in his hand, and cut down a bough from the trees, and took it, and laid it on his shoulder, and said unto the people that were with him, What all of you have seen me do, make haste, and do as I have done. "

49 (HEM) ויכרתו גם כל העם איש שוכה וילכו אחרי אבימלך וישימו על הצריח ויציתו עליהם את הצריח באש וימתו גם כל אנשי מגדל שכם כאלף איש ואשה׃
49 (KAT) A všetok ľud - každý si nasekal haluzia, potom išli za Abimelechom, nahádzali ho na hradby a podpálili ním hradby. Tak zahynuli všetci obyvatelia sichemskej veže, asi tisíc mužov a žien.
49 (UKJV) "And all the people likewise cut down every man his bough, and followed Abimelech, and put them to the hold, and set the hold on fire upon them; so that all the men of the tower of Shechem died also, about a thousand men and women. "

50 (HEM) וילך אבימלך אל תבץ ויחן בתבץ וילכדה׃
50 (KAT) Potom Abimelech tiahol do Tebes. Obľahol Tebes a zaujal ho.
50 (UKJV) Then went Abimelech to Thebez, and encamped against Thebez, and took it.

51 (HEM) ומגדל עז היה בתוך העיר וינסו שמה כל האנשים והנשים וכל בעלי העיר ויסגרו בעדם ויעלו על גג המגדל׃
51 (KAT) Uprostred mesta bola pevná veža, do ktorej utiekli všetci mužovia a ženy, vôbec všetci obyvatelia mesta. Zavreli za sebou a vystúpili na strechu veže.
51 (UKJV) But there was a strong tower within the city, and thither fled all the men and women, and all they of the city, and shut it to them, and got them up to the top of the tower.

52 (HEM) ויבא אבימלך עד המגדל וילחם בו ויגש עד פתח המגדל לשרפו באש׃
52 (KAT) Abimelech prenikol až k veži, lebo ju chcel dobyť. A keď sa dostal až ku vchodu do veže a chcel rozložiť oheň,
52 (UKJV) And Abimelech came unto the tower, and fought against it, and went hard unto the door of the tower to burn it with fire.

53 (HEM) ותשלך אשה אחת פלח רכב על ראש אבימלך ותרץ את גלגלתו׃
53 (KAT) nejaká žena zhodila Abimelechovi na hlavu vrchný mlynský kameň a prerazila mu lebku.
53 (UKJV) And a certain woman cast a piece of a millstone upon Abimelech's head, and all to brake his skull.

54 (HEM) ויקרא מהרה אל הנער נשא כליו ויאמר לו שלף חרבך ומותתני פן יאמרו לי אשה הרגתהו וידקרהו נערו וימת׃
54 (KAT) Rýchle zavolal na svojho sluhu, ktorý mu nosil zbraň, a povedal mu: „Vytas svoj meč a zabi ma! Ináč by sa o mne hovorilo, že ma zabila žena.“ Sluha ho teda prebodol a zomrel.
54 (UKJV) Then he called hastily unto the young man his armour bearer, and said unto him, Draw your sword, and slay me, that men say not of me, A women slew him. And his young man thrust him through, and he died.

55 (HEM) ויראו איש ישראל כי מת אבימלך וילכו איש למקמו׃
55 (KAT) Keď Izraeliti videli, že Abimelech je mŕtvy, vrátili sa všetci domov.
55 (UKJV) And when the men of Israel saw that Abimelech was dead, they departed every man unto his place.

56 (HEM) וישב אלהים את רעת אבימלך אשר עשה לאביו להרג את שבעים אחיו׃
56 (KAT) Tak Boh odplatil Abimelechovi zločin, ktorý spáchal na svojom otcovi, keď zabil sedemdesiat svojich bratov.
56 (UKJV) Thus God rendered the wickedness of Abimelech, which he did unto his father, in slaying his seventy brethren:

57 (HEM) ואת כל רעת אנשי שכם השיב אלהים בראשם ותבא אליהם קללת יותם בן ירבעל׃
57 (KAT) Aj všetky zločiny sichemských mužov obrátil Boh na ich hlavu. Tak sa na nich splnila kliatba Jerobálovho syna Joatama.
57 (UKJV) And all the evil of the men of Shechem did God render upon their heads: and upon them came the curse of Jotham the son of Jerubbaal.
