8 (KAT) Najprv si vzali od ľudu potravu a trúby do rúk. Potom prepustil všetkých Izraelitov, každého do jeho domova. Ponechal si iba tých tristo mužov. Madiánsky tábor bol pod ním na rovine.
8 (VUL) Sumptis itaque pro numero cibariis et tubis, omnem reliquam multitudinem abire praecepit ad tabernacula sua et ipse trecentos viros tenuit. Castra autem Madian erant subter eum in valle.
8 (UKJV) So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

9 (KAT) V onej noci mu povedal Pán: „Vstaň! Zostúp do tábora, lebo som ti ho dal do ruky.
9 (VUL) Eadem nocte dixit Dominus ad eum: “ Surge et descende in castra, quia tradidi ea in manu tua.
9 (UKJV) "And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get you down unto the host; for I have delivered it into your hand. "

12 (UKJV) "And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. "

15 (KAT) Keď Gedeon vypočul sen a jeho výklad, poklonil sa. Potom sa vrátil do izraelského tábora a zvolal: „Vstaňte, lebo Pán dal do vašej ruky madiánsky tábor!“
15 (VUL) Cumque audisset Gedeon somnium et interpretationem eius, adoravit et reversus ad castra Israel ait: “ Surgite, tradidit enim Dominus in manus vestras castra Madian ”.

22 (KAT) Kým oni trúbili na tristo trúbach, Pán obrátil meč jedného proti druhému v celom tábore. A tak tábor utekal až do Betsety a Serery, až na pomedzie Abel-Mehuly pri Tebate.

23 (KAT) Tu zvolali izraelské mužstvo z Neftaliho, z Asera a z celého Manassesa a prenasledovali Madiánčanov.
23 (VUL) Convocati autem viri Israel de Nephthali et Aser et omni Manasse persequebantur Madian.
23 (UKJV) And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.

24 (KAT) Gedeon rozoslal poslov aj po celej Efraimskej vrchovine s odkazom: „Zaskočte Madiánčanov a obsaďte vody až k Betbere i Jordán!“ Všetci Efraimci poslúchli výzvu a obsadili vody až k Betbere aj Jordán.
24 (VUL) Misitque Gedeon nuntios in omnem montem Ephraim dicens: “ Descendite in occursum Madian et occupate aquas usque Bethbera atque Iordanem ”. Omnis Ephraim praeoccupavit aquas usque Bethbera atque Iordanem.
