1 (HEM) וישכם ירבעל הוא גדעון וכל העם אשר אתו ויחנו על עין חרד ומחנה מדין היה לו מצפון מגבעת המורה בעמק׃
1 (KAT) Jerobál, čiže Gedeon, včasráno vstal so všetkým ľudom, ktorý bol s ním, a utáborili sa pri prameni Harad. Madiánsky tábor bol severne odtiaľ, pri úpätí pahorku More, na rovine.

2 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אל גדעון רב העם אשר אתך מתתי את מדין בידם פן יתפאר עלי ישראל לאמר ידי הושיעה לי׃
2 (KAT) Tu vravel Pán Gedeonovi: „Ľudu, ktorý je s tebou, je príliš mnoho, keď mám dať Madiánčanov do jeho ruky! Veď by sa potom Izrael vychvaľoval proti mne: »Vlastnou rukou som si pomohol!«
2 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people that are with you are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, Mine own hand has saved me.

3 (HEM) ועתה קרא נא באזני העם לאמר מי ירא וחרד ישב ויצפר מהר הגלעד וישב מן העם עשרים ושנים אלף ועשרת אלפים נשארו׃
3 (KAT) Vyhlás teda pred ľudom, aby to počul: Kto je bojazlivý a nesmelý, nech sa vráti!“ Tak odišlo z pohoria Galaád a vrátilo sa z ľudu dvadsaťdvatisíc mužov, kým desaťtisíc zostalo.
3 (UKJV) "Now therefore go to, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whosoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand. "

4 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אל גדעון עוד העם רב הורד אותם אל המים ואצרפנו לך שם והיה אשר אמר אליך זה ילך אתך הוא ילך אתך וכל אשר אמר אליך זה לא ילך עמך הוא לא ילך׃
4 (KAT) Pán však povedal Gedeonovi: „Ešte je ľudu priveľa. Zaveď ich k vode! Tam ti ich preosejem. O kom ti poviem: »Tento pôjde s tebou,« ten nech s tebou ide! Ale každý, o kom ti poviem: »Tento s tebou nepôjde,« ten nepôjde s tebou!“
4 (UKJV) "And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for you there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto you, This shall go with you, the same shall go with you; and of whomsoever I say unto you, This shall not go with you, the same shall not go. "

5 (HEM) ויורד את העם אל המים ויאמר יהוה אל גדעון כל אשר ילק בלשונו מן המים כאשר ילק הכלב תציג אותו לבד וכל אשר יכרע על ברכיו לשתות׃
5 (KAT) Nato priviedol ľud k vode a Pán povedal Gedeonovi: „Každého, kto líže vodu jazykom, ako pes líže, postav osve, a takisto každého, kto si k pitiu prikľakne.“
5 (UKJV) "So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that laps of the water with his tongue, as a dog laps, him shall you set by himself; likewise every one that bows down upon his knees to drink. "

6 (HEM) ויהי מספר המלקקים בידם אל פיהם שלש מאות איש וכל יתר העם כרעו על ברכיהם לשתות מים׃
6 (KAT) A tých, čo lízali z ruky ústami, bolo tristo mužov. Ostatný ľud si kľakol na kolená, aby sa napil vody.
6 (UKJV) And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.

7 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אל גדעון בשלש מאות האיש המלקקים אושיע אתכם ונתתי את מדין בידך וכל העם ילכו איש למקמו׃
7 (KAT) Tu povedal Pán Gedeonovi: „S tristo mužmi, ktorí lízali, vás chcem vyslobodiť a Madiánčanov dať do tvojej ruky. Všetok ostatný ľud nech sa vráti, každý do svojho domova!“
7 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into your hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.

8 (HEM) ויקחו את צדה העם בידם ואת שופרתיהם ואת כל איש ישראל שלח איש לאהליו ובשלש מאות האיש החזיק ומחנה מדין היה לו מתחת בעמק׃
8 (KAT) Najprv si vzali od ľudu potravu a trúby do rúk. Potom prepustil všetkých Izraelitov, každého do jeho domova. Ponechal si iba tých tristo mužov. Madiánsky tábor bol pod ním na rovine.
8 (UKJV) So the people took victuals in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man unto his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.

9 (HEM) ויהי בלילה ההוא ויאמר אליו יהוה קום רד במחנה כי נתתיו בידך׃
9 (KAT) V onej noci mu povedal Pán: „Vstaň! Zostúp do tábora, lebo som ti ho dal do ruky.
9 (UKJV) "And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said unto him, Arise, get you down unto the host; for I have delivered it into your hand. "

10 (HEM) ואם ירא אתה לרדת רד אתה ופרה נערך אל המחנה׃
10 (KAT) Ale ak sa bojíš zostúpiť sám, nech ide s tebou ta dole do tábora aj tvoj sluha Fara.
10 (UKJV) But if you fear to go down, go you with Phurah your servant down to the host:

11 (HEM) ושמעת מה ידברו ואחר תחזקנה ידיך וירדת במחנה וירד הוא ופרה נערו אל קצה החמשים אשר במחנה׃

12 (HEM) ומדין ועמלק וכל בני קדם נפלים בעמק כארבה לרב ולגמליהם אין מספר כחול שעל שפת הים לרב׃

12 (UKJV) "And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude. "

13 (HEM) ויבא גדעון והנה איש מספר לרעהו חלום ויאמר הנה חלום חלמתי והנה צלול לחם שערים מתהפך במחנה מדין ויבא עד האהל ויכהו ויפל ויהפכהו למעלה ונפל האהל׃

13 (UKJV) And when Gideon was come, behold, there was a man that told a dream unto his fellow, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread tumbled into the host of Midian, and came unto a tent, and stroke it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay along.

14 (HEM) ויען רעהו ויאמר אין זאת בלתי אם חרב גדעון בן יואש איש ישראל נתן האלהים בידו את מדין ואת כל המחנה׃
14 (KAT) Ten druhý mu na to povedal: „To nie je nič iné ako meč Izraelitu Gedeona, Joasovho syna! Boh dal do jeho ruky Madiánčanov a celý tábor.“
14 (UKJV) And his fellow answered and said, This is nothing else save the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand has God delivered Midian, and all the host.

15 (HEM) ויהי כשמע גדעון את מספר החלום ואת שברו וישתחו וישב אל מחנה ישראל ויאמר קומו כי נתן יהוה בידכם את מחנה מדין׃
15 (KAT) Keď Gedeon vypočul sen a jeho výklad, poklonil sa. Potom sa vrátil do izraelského tábora a zvolal: „Vstaňte, lebo Pán dal do vašej ruky madiánsky tábor!“
15 (UKJV) "And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD has delivered into your hand the host of Midian. "

16 (HEM) ויחץ את שלש מאות האיש שלשה ראשים ויתן שופרות ביד כלם וכדים רקים ולפדים בתוך הכדים׃
16 (KAT) Rozdelil tristo mužov na tri zástupy a všetkým dal do rúk trúby a prázdne džbány a do džbánov fakle.
16 (UKJV) And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.

17 (HEM) ויאמר אליהם ממני תראו וכן תעשו והנה אנכי בא בקצה המחנה והיה כאשר אעשה כן תעשון׃
17 (KAT) A povedal im: „Hľaďte na mňa a robte takisto! Ja sa priblížim až celkom k táboru a ako ja urobím, tak robte aj vy!
17 (UKJV) And he said unto them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall all of you do.

18 (HEM) ותקעתי בשופר אנכי וכל אשר אתי ותקעתם בשופרות גם אתם סביבות כל המחנה ואמרתם ליהוה ולגדעון׃
18 (KAT) Keď zatrúbim - ja a všetci, ktorí budú so mnou -, trúbte aj vy okolo celého tábora a volajte: Za Pána a za Gedeona!“
18 (UKJV) When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow all of you the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

19 (HEM) ויבא גדעון ומאה איש אשר אתו בקצה המחנה ראש האשמרת התיכונה אך הקם הקימו את השמרים ויתקעו בשופרות ונפוץ הכדים אשר בידם׃
19 (KAT) Gedeon so sto mužmi, ktorí boli s ním, priblížil sa celkom až k táboru, keď začínala prostredná stráž, len čo postavili stráže. Tu zatrúbili a roztrieskali džbány v rukách.
19 (UKJV) "So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came unto the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers that were in their hands. "

20 (HEM) ויתקעו שלשת הראשים בשופרות וישברו הכדים ויחזיקו ביד שמאולם בלפדים וביד ימינם השופרות לתקוע ויקראו חרב ליהוה ולגדעון׃
20 (KAT) Hneď sa ozývali trúby v troch zástupoch a rozbíjali sa džbány. V ľavej ruke držali fakle a v pravej ruke trúby na trúbenie. Pritom kričali: „Meč za Pána a za Gedeona!“
20 (UKJV) And the three companies blew the trumpets, and brake the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow likewise: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.

21 (HEM) ויעמדו איש תחתיו סביב למחנה וירץ כל המחנה ויריעו ויניסו׃
21 (KAT) Zostali stáť okolo tábora, každý tam, kde bol. Ale tábor sa celý rozvíril: kričali a utekali.
21 (UKJV) "And they stood every man in his place round about the camp; and all the host ran, and cried, and fled. "

22 (HEM) ויתקעו שלש מאות השופרות וישם יהוה את חרב איש ברעהו ובכל המחנה וינס המחנה עד בית השטה צררתה עד שפת אבל מחולה על טבת׃
22 (KAT) Kým oni trúbili na tristo trúbach, Pán obrátil meč jedného proti druhému v celom tábore. A tak tábor utekal až do Betsety a Serery, až na pomedzie Abel-Mehuly pri Tebate.
22 (UKJV) And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man's sword against his fellow, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, unto Tabbath.

23 (HEM) ויצעק איש ישראל מנפתלי ומן אשר ומן כל מנשה וירדפו אחרי מדין׃
23 (KAT) Tu zvolali izraelské mužstvo z Neftaliho, z Asera a z celého Manassesa a prenasledovali Madiánčanov.
23 (UKJV) And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued after the Midianites.

24 (HEM) ומלאכים שלח גדעון בכל הר אפרים לאמר רדו לקראת מדין ולכדו להם את המים עד בית ברה ואת הירדן ויצעק כל איש אפרים וילכדו את המים עד בית ברה ואת הירדן׃
24 (KAT) Gedeon rozoslal poslov aj po celej Efraimskej vrchovine s odkazom: „Zaskočte Madiánčanov a obsaďte vody až k Betbere i Jordán!“ Všetci Efraimci poslúchli výzvu a obsadili vody až k Betbere aj Jordán.
24 (UKJV) And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters unto Bethbarah and Jordan.

25 (HEM) וילכדו שני שרי מדין את ערב ואת זאב ויהרגו את עורב בצור עורב ואת זאב הרגו ביקב זאב וירדפו אל מדין וראש ערב וזאב הביאו אל גדעון מעבר לירדן׃
25 (KAT) Zajali tiež dvoje madiánskych kniežat, Oreba a Zeba. Oreba zabili na Havranej skale a Zeba zabili na Vlčom lise. Potom prenasledovali Madiánčanov za Jordán a niesli Orebovu a Zebovu hlavu Gedeonovi.
25 (UKJV) "And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side Jordan. "
