1 (UKJV) "And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. "
1 (KAT) Pánov anjel prišiel z Galgaly hore do Bochima a povedal: „Vyviedol som vás z Egypta a priviedol som vás do krajiny, ktorú som pod prísahou sľúbil vašim otcom. Povedal som: »Nezruším svoju zmluvu s vami naveky!
2 (UKJV) "And all of you shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; all of you shall throw down their altars: but all of you have not obeyed my voice: why have all of you done this? "
2 (KAT) Ale ani vy nesmiete uzavierať nijakú zmluvu s obyvateľmi tejto krajiny. Ich oltáre zbúrate!« Ale vy ste neposlúchli môj hlas. Prečo ste to urobili?!
3 (UKJV) "Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you. "
3 (KAT) Preto som sa tiež rozhodol: Nevyženiem ich pred vami. Ba čo viac, stanú sa vašimi odporcami a ich bohovia budú pre vás pascou.“
4 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spoke these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
4 (KAT) Keď Pánov anjel hovoril tieto slová všetkým Izraelovým synom, ľud sa dal do hlasitého plaču.
5 (UKJV) And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the LORD.
5 (KAT) Preto nazvali to miesto Bochim (čiže Plačúci). A priniesli tam obetu Pánovi.
6 (UKJV) And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
6 (KAT) Keď Jozue prepustil ľud, odišli Izraelovi synovia každý do svojho dedičného podielu, aby zaujali krajinu.
7 (UKJV) And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
7 (KAT) Ľud slúžil Pánovi po všetky Jozueho dni a po všetky dni starších, ktorí ešte dlho žili po Jozuem a tiež videli veľké Pánove skutky, ktoré on vykonal pre Izrael.
8 (UKJV) And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
8 (KAT) A Nunov syn Jozue, Pánov služobník, zomrel vo veku stodesať rokov.
9 (UKJV) And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
9 (KAT) Pochovali ho na území jeho dedičného podielu v Tamnatsare na Efraimskej vrchovine, severne od vrchu Gás.
10 (UKJV) And also all that generation were gathered unto their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
10 (KAT) Ale celé toto pokolenie sa zhromaždilo k svojim otcom. Po nich povstalo iné pokolenie, ktoré už nepoznalo ani Pána, ani jeho skutky, ktoré vykonal kvôli Izraelovi.
11 (UKJV) And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:
11 (KAT) Izraelovi synovia robili, čo je zlé v Pánových očiach, a slúžili bálom.
12 (UKJV) And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed themselves unto them, and provoked the LORD to anger.
12 (KAT) Opustili Pána, Boha svojich otcov, ktorý ich vyviedol z krajiny Egypťanov. Chodili za inými bohmi - za bohmi národov, ktoré boli okolo nich - a klaňali sa im a tak dráždili Pána.
13 (UKJV) And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
13 (KAT) Opustili totiž Pána a slúžili Bálovi a aštartám.
14 (UKJV) And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
14 (KAT) Tu vzbĺkol Pánov hnev proti Izraelitom a vydal ich do ruky lupičov, ktorí ich drancovali. Predal ich do ruky okolitých nepriateľov, takže už nemohli odolať svojim nepriateľom.
15 (UKJV) Anywhere they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
15 (KAT) Kedykoľvek vytiahli, Pánova ruka bola proti nim na ich nešťastie, ako povedal Pán a ako im Pán prisahal. Keď sa im už veľmi zle vodilo,
16 (UKJV) Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
16 (KAT) vzbudzoval Pán sudcov, ktorí ich vyslobodzovali z ruky lúpežníkov.
17 (UKJV) "And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so. "
17 (KAT) Lenže svojich sudcov tiež neposlúchali. Ba čo viac, prznili sa s inými bohmi a klaňali sa im. Rýchle zišli z cesty, po ktorej chodili ich otcovia, ktorí poslúchali Pánove príkazy. Nepočínali si tak.
18 (UKJV) And when the LORD raised them up judges, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the LORD because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and vexed them.
18 (KAT) Keď im Pán vzbudzoval sudcov, vtedy Pán bol so sudcom a vyslobodzoval ich z ruky nepriateľov, pokým sudca žil. Lebo Pána pohli ich vzdychy pod sužovateľmi a utláčateľmi.
19 (UKJV) "And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. "
19 (KAT) Ale keď sudca zomrel, opäť sa vracali a stávali sa horšími než ich otcovia, lebo chodili za cudzími bohmi, slúžili im a klaňali sa im. Nezanechali svoje počínanie a tvrdošijné konanie.
20 (UKJV) "And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people has transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened unto my voice; "
20 (KAT) Tu vzbĺkol Pánov hnev proti Izraelu a povedal: „Pretože tento národ porušil moju zmluvu, ku ktorej som zaviazal ich otcov, a neposlúchol môj hlas,
21 (UKJV) I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
21 (KAT) tak ani ja už nechcem vypudiť pred nimi ani jeden z tých národov, ktoré zanechal Jozue, keď umrel.
22 (UKJV) That through them I may prove Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk therein, as their fathers did keep it, or not.
22 (KAT) A to preto, aby som nimi vyskúšal Izraelitov, či sa budú pridržiavať Pánovej cesty a chodiť po nej, ako to robili ich otcovia, alebo nie.“
23 (UKJV) "Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the hand of Joshua. "
23 (KAT) Preto teda Pán ponechal tie národy, nevypudil ich hneď a nedal ich do ruky Jozueho.

Verš 1
"And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I swore unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. "
Gn 17:7 - And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto you, and to your seed after you.
Dt 29:14 - "Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath; "

Dt 7:2 - "And when the LORD your God shall deliver them before you; you shall strike them, and utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them: "
Dt 12:3 - "And all of you shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and all of you shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place. "

"Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you. "
Joz 23:13 - "Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until all of you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you. "
Ex 23:33 - They shall not dwell in your land, lest they make you sin against me: for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto you.
Ex 34:12 - Take heed to yourself, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you go, lest it be for a snare in the midst of you:
Dt 7:16 - "And you shall consume all the people which the LORD your God shall deliver you; your eye shall have no pity upon them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto you. "

And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess the land.
Joz 24:28 - So Joshua let the people depart, every man unto his inheritance.

And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies round about, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
Ž 44:12 - You sell your people for nothing, and do not increase your wealth by their price.
Iz 50:1 - Thus says the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother's divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have all of you sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away.

Anywhere they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
Lv 26:1 - All of you shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall all of you set up any image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I am the LORD your God.
Dt 28:1 - And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth:

"And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down unto them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way. "
Sdc 3:12 - And the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD: and the LORD strengthened Eglon the king of Moab against Israel, because they had done evil in the sight of the LORD.

I also will not henceforth drive out any from before them of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
Joz 23:13 - "Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until all of you perish from off this good land which the LORD your God has given you. "
Sdc 2,1-5 - O "Pánovom anjelovi" pozri Joz 5,14.16. – Anjel prichádza z Galgaly, izraelského to táborišťa, do Bochima. – Ku "zmluve, ktorú nezruší Pán naveky", porov. Ex 34,10 n. Izraeliti nesplnili podmienky vzájomnej zmluvy, preto ani Jahve nie je povinný splniť svoje prísľuby. Porov. Ex 23, 29–32; Dt 7,1–5; 12,3.
Sdc 2,6-9 - V. 6 je len málo rozšírený Joz 24,28. – V. 7 – Joz 24,31; v. 8 – Joz 24,29; v. 9 – Joz 24,30.
Sdc 2,11 - "Čo je zlé v Pánových očiach" – úcta cudzích bohov, modlárstvo. Porov. Dt 4,25; 17,2; 31,18.29; Sdc 3,7; 4,1; 6,1; 10,6; 13,1. – "Ba’al" pôvodne znamená ,pán', potom meno boha kanaánskych národov. Pod množným číslom sa rozumejú viacerí takíto miestni bohovia, ktorí mávali svoje zvláštne označenie, ako: Ba’al Sidón – Pán Sidona, Ba’al sidonský; Ba’al Sór – Ba’al týrsky. – "… národy, ktoré boli okolo nich", národy, s ktorými sa miešali. Porov. 1,21–35.
Sdc 2,13 - "'Aštóreth", Aštarta (množ. čís. "'aštaróth"), kanaánska bohyňa plodnosti, uctievaná aj u iných Semitov (napr. asýrska Ištar). Ako uctievali viacerých bálov, tak boli známe rôzne aštarty. K jej úcte stavali na výšinách alebo pod košatými stromami drevené stĺpy, koly ("ašery" alebo kamenné ihlany "maseby"), ktoré sa ukončievali znázornením bohyne. Niekedy zámenou Aštarta býva nazývaná Ašerou. Porov. 3,7.
Sdc 2,16 - V núdzi vzbudzoval Jahve sudcov Izraelitom. Sloveso "šáfat", od ktorého je odvodené meno šofét – sudca, znamená nielen súdiť, ale predovšetkým vysluhovať spravodlivosť, dopomáhať niekomu ku spravodlivosti a potom: vyslobodiť (1 Sam 24,16; 2 Sam 18,19.31). Izraelskí "sudcovia" boli pomstitelia krívd popáchaných na ľude, potom jeho vodcovia a osloboditelia a konečne vládcovia (nie však dediční). Porov. 2,18; 3,9.15.31.
Sdc 2,17 - Smilstvo – modlárstvo. Porov. Ex 34,15 n.; Lv 17,7; 20,6; Dt 31,16. – Cesta – spôsob života, mravy.
Sdc 2,21 - Jahve sa zaviazal, že vydá kanaánske národy do rúk Izraelitov (Ex 23,31). Tento Boží prísľub bol však viazaný na podmienku, že Izraeliti budú ctiť len jediného, pravého svojho Boha. Keďže nesplnili podmienku, nemôžu čakať ani splnenie prísľubu, ba naopak trest. Trest aj došiel, ktorý je zároveň skúškou Izraela (v. 22).
