And a reed, similar to a staff, was given to me. And it was said to me: “Rise up and measure the temple of God, and those who are worshiping in it, and the altar.
Ez 40:3 - And he led me into that place. And behold, there was a man, whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a linen rope in his hand, and a measuring reed in his hand. And he was standing at the gate.
Ez 41:1 - And he led me into the temple, and he measured the front to be six cubits in width on one side, and six cubits in width on the other side, which is the width of the tabernacle.
Ez 42:1 - And he led me into the outer court by the way that leads to the north, and he led me into the storeroom that was opposite the separate edifice, and opposite the shrine that verges toward the north.
Ez 43:1 - And he led me to the gate which looked toward the way of the east.

But the atrium, which is outside of the temple, set it aside and do not measure it, because it has been given over to the Gentiles. And they shall trample upon the Holy City for forty-two months.

These have the power to close up the heavens, so that it may not rain during the days of their prophesying. And they have power over the waters, to convert them into blood, and to strike the earth with every kind of affliction as often as they will.

And when they will have finished their testimony, the beast that ascended from the abyss will make war against them, and will overcome them, and will kill them.

Zjv 18:10 - standing far away, out of fear of her torments, saying: ‘Woe! Woe! to Babylon, that great city, that strong city. For in one hour, your judgment has arrived.’

The second woe has gone out, but behold, the third woe approaches quickly.
Zjv 8:13 - And I saw, and I heard the voice of a lone eagle flying through the midst of heaven, calling with a great voice: “Woe, Woe, Woe, to the inhabitants of the earth, from the remaining voices of the three Angels, who will soon sound the trumpet!”
Zjv 9:12 - One woe has gone out, but behold, there are still two woes approaching afterward.
Zjv 15:1 - And I saw another sign in heaven, great and wondrous: seven Angels, holding the seven last afflictions. For with them, the wrath of God is completed.

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty, who is, and who was, and who is to come. For you have taken your great power, and you have reigned.

Zjv 4:8 - And each of the four living creatures had upon them six wings, and all around and within they are full of eyes. And they took no rest, day or night, from saying: “Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and who is, and who is to come.”
Zjv 16:5 - And I heard the Angel of the waters saying: “You are just, O Lord, who is and who was: the Holy One who has judged these things.
Verš 19
And the temple of God was opened in heaven. And the Ark of his Testament was seen in his temple. And there were lightnings and voices and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Zjv 15:5 - And after these things, I saw, and behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened.
Zjv 11,1 - Meranie chrámu je symbolické. Označuje, že Cirkev, Boží chrám, je pod Pánovou ochranou. Jej vnútorný život zostane nedotknutý.
Zjv 11,2 - Vonkajšie nádvorie chrámu sa nemá zmerať. Znamená to, že vonkajší život Cirkvi bude musieť znášať prenasledovania. Štyridsaťdva mesiacov čiže tri a pol roka alebo 1 260 dní (12, 6; 13,5) symbolicky vymedzuje dĺžku pozemského života Cirkvi. Táto časová dĺžka pripomína aj dĺžku prenasledovania za kráľa Antiocha Epifana (Dan 7, 25; 12, 7).
Zjv 11,3-6 - Dvaja svedkovia ukazujú na víťazstvo evanjelia nad antikristom. Mnohí v nich vidia Mojžiša a Eliáša. Porov. Zach 4, 3. 11–13.
Zjv 11,7 - O šelme porov. hl. 13.
Zjv 11,8 - Veľké mesto (Rím) sa symbolicky nazýva Sodoma pre svoju nemravnosť a Egypt pre modloslužobníctvo a nenávisť voči Božiemu ľudu.
Zjv 11,9 - Číslo symbolizuje neúplnosť, čiže víťazstvo zla bude iba prechodné.
Zjv 11,11 - Ez 37, 5. 10.
Zjv 11,12 - Symbol posmrtného víťazstva mučeníkov.
Zjv 11,15-18 - Posledná fáza eschatologickej drámy predstavenej Jánom v tejto prvej schéme (6, 1 – 11, 19) zahrnuje definitívne nastolenie Božieho kráľovstva a odsúdenie národov nepriateľských Bohu.
Zjv 11,19 - Archa zmluvy v nebi vyjadruje definitívnu prítomnosť Boha uprostred osláveného nového Izraela.
