2Jn 1, 1-13

1 (KJV) The elder unto the elect lady and her children, whom I love in the truth; and not I only, but also all they that have known the truth;
1 (B21) Já starší píšu vyvolené paní i jejím dětem, které miluji v pravdě (a nejen já, ale všichni, kteří poznali pravdu),

2 (KJV) For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
2 (B21) kvůli pravdě, která v nás zůstává a bude s námi navěky:

3 (KJV) Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
3 (B21) Milost, milosrdenství a pokoj od Boha Otce i od Ježíše Krista, Otcova Syna, ať je s námi v pravdě a lásce.

4 (KJV) I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father.
4 (B21) Udělalo mi nesmírnou radost, když jsem zjistil, jak některé z tvých dětí žijí v pravdě, podle přikázání, které jsme dostali od Otce.

5 (KJV) And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5 (B21) Prosím tě tedy, paní, ne jako bych ti psal nové přikázání, ale jen to, které jsme měli od počátku: Milujme jedni druhé.

6 (KJV) And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
6 (B21) V tom je láska, abychom žili podle jeho přikázání. To přikázání jste slyšeli od počátku, a tak podle něj žijte.

7 (KJV) For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.
7 (B21) Do světa totiž vyšla spousta bludařů, kteří nevyznávají Ježíše Krista přišlého v těle. Každý takový je bludař a antikrist.

8 (KJV) Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
8 (B21) Proto si dejte pozor, abychom neztratili to, oč jsme usilovali; nenechme se připravit o plnou odplatu.

9 (KJV) Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
9 (B21) Každý, kdo nezůstává v Kristově učení, ale opouští je, ztrácí Boha. Kdo zůstává v jeho učení, ten má Otce i Syna.

10 (KJV) If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:
10 (B21) Pokud k vám někdo přichází s jiným než tímto učením, nepřijímejte ho do domu ani ho nevítejte.

11 (KJV) For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
11 (B21) Kdo takového vítá, stává se jeho spoluviníkem.

12 (KJV) Having many things to write unto you, I would not write with paper and ink: but I trust to come unto you, and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.
12 (B21) Napsal bych vám ještě mnohem více, ale nechci to svěřit papíru a inkoustu. Mám totiž naději, že se k vám dostanu a promluvím s vámi tváří v tvář, aby naše radost byla dokonalá.

13 (KJV) The children of thy elect sister greet thee. Amen.
13 (B21) Pozdravují tě děti tvé vyvolené sestry.

Verš 10

If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:

Rim 16:17 - Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

2Tim 3:5 - Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Tít 3:10 - A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject;

Verš 5

And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.

1Jn 2:7 - Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

Jn 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Jn 15:12 - This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Ef 5:2 - And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

1Sol 4:9 - But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.

1Pt 4:8 - And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

1Jn 3:23 - And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

1Jn 4:21 - And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Verš 6

And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Jn 15:10 - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

Verš 7

For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Mt 24:5 - For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

Mt 24:24 - For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

2Pt 2:1 - But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

1Jn 4:1 - Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

2Jn 1,1 - "Pani a jej deti" je bližšie neoznačená miestna cirkev a jej veriaci. "V pravde", výraz označuje lásku pochádzajúcu z pravdy, ktorú hlásal Kristus a ktorá prebýva v srdciach kresťanov.

2Jn 1,4 - Žiť v pravde znamená žiť vo svetle príkazu o láske.

2Jn 1,5 - Porov. 1 Jn 2, 7-8; 3, 11.

2Jn 1,7 - O zvodcoch porov. 1 Jn 2, 18-27; 4, 1.

2Jn 1,13 - "Sestra" je cirkev, do ktorej patrí "starší", autor listu. Ako kresťania sú bratmi, tak miestne cirkvi sú sestrami.
