Verš 1
This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2Pt 1:13 - Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
Verš 3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
1Tim 4:1 - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2Tim 3:1 - This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
Júd 1:18 - How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Verš 4
And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
Ez 12:22 - Son of man, what is that proverb that ye have in the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision faileth?
Verš 5
For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
Gn 1:9 - And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
Ž 24:2 - For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
Verš 6
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
Gn 7:10 - And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
Gn 7:21 - And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man:
Verš 7
But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2Pt 3:10 - But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Ž 102:26 - They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
Iz 51:6 - Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Heb 1:11 - They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;
2Sol 1:8 - In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Verš 8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
Ž 90:4 - For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
Verš 9
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Hab 2:3 - For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
2Pt 3:15 - And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
1Pt 3:20 - Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.
Iz 30:18 - And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Rim 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Ez 18:32 - For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.
Ez 33:11 - Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
1Tim 2:4 - Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
Verš 10
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Mt 24:43 - But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
1Sol 5:2 - For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
Zjv 3:3 - Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
Zjv 16:15 - Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Verš 12
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

2Sol 1:8 - In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Iz 65:17 - For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Iz 66:22 - For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Zjv 21:1 - And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Verš 15
And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
Rim 2:4 - Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
Verš 16
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Rim 8:19 - For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
1Kor 15:24 - Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Sol 4:15 - For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
2Pt 3,3-7 - Mnohí z prvých kresťanov sa mylne nazdávali, že koniec sveta je veľmi blízko, že nastane ešte za ich života. Porov. 2 Sol 2, 2; 1 Sol 5, 1–11.
Iste raz príde, a to náhle, keď nik nebude nič tušiť. Porov. Mt 24, 29. 36; 1 Sol 5, 1; Zjv 20, 11.
