2Pt 1, 1-21

1 (KJV) Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
1 (B21) Šimon Petr, služebník a apoštol Ježíše Krista, těm, kteří dosáhli stejně vzácné víry jako my díky spravedlnosti našeho Boha a Spasitele Ježíše Krista:

2 (KJV) Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
2 (B21) Milost vám a hojný pokoj skrze poznání Boha a Ježíše, našeho Pána.

3 (KJV) According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
3 (B21) Všechno, co potřebujeme k životu a zbožnosti, nám darovala jeho božská moc, když jsme poznali Toho, který nás povolal ve své slávě a ušlechtilosti.

4 (KJV) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
4 (B21) Takto nám byla darována vzácná a veliká zaslíbení, abyste skrze ně získali účast na Boží povaze a unikli zkáze, do níž se svět ve své žádostivosti řítí.

5 (KJV) And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
5 (B21) Proto se ze všech sil snažte přidat ke své víře ušlechtilost, k ušlechtilosti poznání,

6 (KJV) And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
6 (B21) k poznání zdrženlivost, ke zdrženlivosti vytrvalost, k vytrvalosti zbožnost,

7 (KJV) And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
7 (B21) ke zbožnosti bratrskou náklonnost a k bratrské náklonnosti lásku.

8 (KJV) For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 (B21) Když v těchto věcech porostete, dojdete k poznání našeho Pána Ježíše Krista a to vám zabrání v nečinnosti a neplodnosti.

9 (KJV) But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
9 (B21) Komu však tyto věci chybí, ten je slepý a krátkozraký, neboť zapomněl na to, jak byl očištěn od svých starých hříchů.

10 (KJV) Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
10 (B21) Bratři, snažte se stále více potvrzovat své povolání a vyvolení, protože když to budete dělat, nikdy nepadnete.

11 (KJV) For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
11 (B21) Takto se vám dokořán otevře přístup do věčného království našeho Pána a Spasitele Ježíše Krista.

12 (KJV) Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.
12 (B21) Tyto věci vám chci i nadále bez přestání připomínat, ačkoli je znáte a pevně stojíte v pravdě, kterou jste přijali.

13 (KJV) Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;
13 (B21) Dokud přebývám v tomto stanu, považuji za svou povinnost burcovat vás a upomínat,

14 (KJV) Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.
14 (B21) neboť vím, že stan mého těla bude brzy složen, jak mi oznámil náš Pán Ježíš Kristus.

15 (KJV) Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
15 (B21) Vynasnažím se tedy, abyste si i po mém odchodu mohli tyto věci stále připomínat.

16 (KJV) For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
16 (B21) Když jsme vám pověděli o moci našeho Pána Ježíše Krista a o jeho příchodu, nedrželi jsme se vymyšlených bájí, ale mluvili jsme jako očití svědkové jeho slávy.

17 (KJV) For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
17 (B21) Tu slávu a čest přijal od Boha Otce, když k němu z velkolepé slávy zazněl hlas: "Toto je můj milovaný Syn, kterého jsem si oblíbil."

18 (KJV) And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
18 (B21) My jsme s ním byli na oné svaté hoře a ten hlas z nebe jsme sami slyšeli.

19 (KJV) We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
19 (B21) Navíc tu máme nesmírně spolehlivé slovo proroků a vy děláte dobře, že se ho držíte jako lampy zářící v temnotách, dokud se nerozbřeskne den a ve vašich srdcích nevzejde jitřenka.

20 (KJV) Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
20 (B21) Především vězte, že žádné proroctví Písma nevzniklo z vlastního názoru proroka.

21 (KJV) For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
21 (B21) Proroctví totiž nikdy nepřišlo z lidské vůle, ale Boží lidé mluvili, jak byli puzeni Duchem svatým.

Verš 2

Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Rim 1:7 - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Júd 1:2 - Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.

Jn 17:3 - And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

Verš 4

Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Iz 56:5 - Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off.

Jn 1:12 - But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Rim 8:15 - For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

Gal 3:26 - For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Verš 8

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Tít 3:14 - And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.

Verš 9

But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Iz 59:10 - We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.

Sof 1:17 - And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.

Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;

2Pt 3:1 - This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.

2Tim 4:6 - For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.

Jn 21:18 - Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

1Kor 1:17 - For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

1Kor 2:1 - And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

1Kor 2:4 - And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

1Kor 4:20 - For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.

Mt 17:1 - And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart,

Jn 1:14 - And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

1Jn 1:1 - That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;

Mt 3:17 - And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mt 17:5 - While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Mk 1:11 - And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Mk 9:7 - And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Lk 3:22 - And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Lk 9:35 - And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.

Kol 1:13 - Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Verš 19

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

2Kor 4:6 - For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Zjv 22:16 - I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Verš 21

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

2Tim 3:16 - All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
