1 (B21) Vůdcové levitských rodů přišli ke knězi Eleazarovi, k Jozuovi, synu Nunovu, a k rodovým vůdcům izraelských pokolení
1 (UKJV) "Then came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel; "

2 (B21) v Šílu v kanaánské zemi a řekli jim: "Hospodin skrze Mojžíše přikázal, abychom dostali města k bydlení a pastviny pro náš dobytek."
2 (UKJV) And they spoke unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.

3 (B21) Synové Izraele tedy podle Hospodinova příkazu dali levitům ze svého dědictví tato města a jejich pastviny:
3 (UKJV) And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the LORD, these cities and their suburbs.

4 (B21) První los připadl na rody Kehatovy. Ti levité, kteří byli potomky kněze Árona, získali losem třináct měst od pokolení Juda, Šimeon a Benjamín.
4 (UKJV) And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites: and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.

5 (B21) Ostatní Kehatovi synové získali losem deset měst od pokolení Efraim a Dan a od poloviny pokolení Manases.
5 (UKJV) And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.

6 (B21) Synové Geršonovi získali losem třináct měst od pokolení Isachar, Ašer a Neftalí a od poloviny pokolení Manases v Bášanu.
6 (UKJV) And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.

7 (B21) Synové Merariho obdrželi pro své rody dvanáct měst od pokolení Ruben, Gád a Zabulon.
7 (UKJV) The children of Merari by their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.

8 (B21) Tato města i s jejich pastvinami přidělili synové Izraele levitům losem, jak přikázal Hospodin skrze Mojžíše.
8 (UKJV) And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with their suburbs, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.

9 (B21) Z pokolení Juda a Šimeon byla odevzdána tato jmenovitě uvedená města
9 (UKJV) And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name.

10 (B21) (připadla Áronovým potomkům, Leviho synům z rodů Kehatových, neboť na ně padl první los):
10 (UKJV) Which the children of Aaron, being of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi, had: for theirs was the first lot.

11 (B21) V Judském pohoří dostali Kiriat-arbu (to jest Hebron) s okolními pastvinami (Arba byl otcem Anaka).
11 (UKJV) And they gave them the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron, in the hill country of Judah, with the suburbs thereof round about it.

12 (B21) Pole a osady patřící k tomu městu ale dostal do vlastnictví Káleb, syn Jefunův.
12 (UKJV) But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

13 (B21) Synové kněze Árona tedy dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Hebron a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Libna,
13 (UKJV) "Thus they gave to the children of Aaron the priest Hebron with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Libnah with her suburbs, "

14 (B21) Jatir, Eštemóa,
14 (UKJV) And Jattir with her suburbs, and Eshtemoa with her suburbs,

15 (B21) Cholon, Debir,
15 (UKJV) And Holon with her suburbs, and Debir with her suburbs,

16 (B21) Ajin, Juta a Bet-šemeš - celkem devět měst od těchto dvou kmenů.
16 (UKJV) "And Ain with her suburbs, and Juttah with her suburbs, and Bethshemesh with her suburbs; nine cities out of those two tribes. "

17 (B21) Od pokolení Benjamín dostali tato města s jejich pastvinami: Gibeon, Geba,
17 (UKJV) And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with her suburbs, Geba with her suburbs,

18 (B21) Anatot a Almon - celkem čtyři města.
18 (UKJV) "Anathoth with her suburbs, and Almon with her suburbs; four cities. "

19 (B21) Áronovým synům, kněžím, tedy připadlo celkem třináct měst s pastvinami.
19 (UKJV) All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

20 (B21) Ostatním levitským rodům ze synů Kehatových los určil tato města: Od pokolení Efraim
20 (UKJV) And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites which remained of the children of Kohath, even they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.

21 (B21) dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Šechem v pohoří Efraim a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Gezer,
21 (UKJV) "For they gave them Shechem with her suburbs in mount Ephraim, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Gezer with her suburbs, "

22 (B21) Kibcaim a Bet-choron - celkem čtyři města.
22 (UKJV) "And Kibzaim with her suburbs, and Bethhoron with her suburbs; four cities. "

23 (B21) Od pokolení Dan dostali tato města s pastvinami: Elteke, Gibeton,
23 (UKJV) And out of the tribe of Dan, Eltekeh with her suburbs, Gibbethon with her suburbs,

24 (B21) Ajalon a Gat-rimon - celkem čtyři města.
24 (UKJV) "Aijalon with her suburbs, Gathrimmon with her suburbs; four cities. "

25 (B21) Od poloviny pokolení Manases dostali tato města s pastvinami: Taanach a Gat-rimon - celkem dvě města.
25 (UKJV) "And out of the half tribe of Manasseh, Tanach with her suburbs, and Gathrimmon with her suburbs; two cities. "

26 (B21) Ostatním Kehatovým rodům tedy připadlo celkem deset měst s pastvinami.
26 (UKJV) All the cities were ten with their suburbs for the families of the children of Kohath that remained.

27 (B21) Synové Geršonovi, další z levitských rodů, dostali od poloviny pokolení Manases jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Golan v Bášanu i s jeho pastvinami. Dále to byla Beeštera s pastvinami - celkem dvě města.
27 (UKJV) "And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the other half tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Beeshterah with her suburbs; two cities. "

28 (B21) Od pokolení Isachar dostali tato města s pastvinami: Kišjon, Daberat,
28 (UKJV) And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishon with her suburbs, Dabareh with her suburbs,

29 (B21) Jarmut a En-ganim - celkem čtyři města.
29 (UKJV) "Jarmuth with her suburbs, Engannim with her suburbs; four cities. "

30 (B21) Od pokolení Ašer dostali tato města s pastvinami: Mišal, Abdon,
30 (UKJV) And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with her suburbs, Abdon with her suburbs,

31 (B21) Chelkat a Rechob - celkem čtyři města.
31 (UKJV) "Helkath with her suburbs, and Rehob with her suburbs; four cities. "

32 (B21) Od pokolení Neftalí dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Kedeš v Galileji a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Chamot-dor a Kartan - celkem tři města.
32 (UKJV) "And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Hammothdor with her suburbs, and Kartan with her suburbs; three cities. "

33 (B21) Geršonským rodům tedy připadlo celkem třináct měst s pastvinami.
33 (UKJV) All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their suburbs.

34 (B21) Synové Merariho, tedy zbývající levitské rody, dostali toto: Od pokolení Zabulon tato města s pastvinami: Jokneam, Karta,
34 (UKJV) And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with her suburbs, and Kartah with her suburbs,

35 (B21) Dimna a Nahalal - celkem čtyři města.
35 (UKJV) "Dimnah with her suburbs, Nahalal with her suburbs; four cities. "

36 (B21) Od pokolení Ruben dostali tato města s pastvinami: Becer, Jahca,
36 (UKJV) And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with her suburbs, and Jahazah with her suburbs,

37 (B21) Kedemot a Mefaat - celkem čtyři města.
37 (UKJV) "Kedemoth with her suburbs, and Mephaath with her suburbs; four cities. "

38 (B21) Od pokolení Gád dostali jako útočištné město pro ty, kdo někoho zabili, Rámot v Gileádu a tato města s jejich pastvinami: Machanajim,
38 (UKJV) "And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with her suburbs, to be a city of refuge for the slayer; and Mahanaim with her suburbs, "

39 (B21) Chešbon a Jaezer - celkem čtyři města.
39 (UKJV) "Heshbon with her suburbs, Jazer with her suburbs; four cities in all. "

40 (B21) Merariho synům, totiž zbytku levitských rodů, tedy losem připadlo celkem dvanáct měst.
40 (UKJV) So all the cities for the children of Merari by their families, which were remaining of the families of the Levites, were by their lot twelve cities.

41 (B21) Tak bylo na izraelském území celkem čtyřicet osm levitských měst s pastvinami.
41 (UKJV) All the cities of the Levites within the possession of the children of Israel were forty and eight cities with their suburbs.

42 (B21) Ke každému z těch měst patřily přilehlé pastviny. Tak tomu bylo se všemi těmi městy.
42 (UKJV) These cities were every one with their suburbs round about them: thus were all these cities.

43 (B21) Hospodin dal Izraeli celou tu zem, o níž přísahal jejich otcům, že jim ji dá. Zmocnili se jí a usadili se v ní.
43 (UKJV) "And the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which he swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein. "

44 (B21) Hospodin jim dal odpočinout ze všech stran, přesně tak, jak odpřisáhl jejich otcům. Ze všech jejich nepřátel před nimi žádný neobstál, všechny nepřátele jim Hospodin vydal do rukou.
44 (UKJV) "And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that he swore unto their fathers: and there stood not a man of all their enemies before them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand. "

45 (B21) Ze všech těch dobrých slov, která Hospodin řekl domu Izraele, ani jediné neselhalo; vše se splnilo.
45 (UKJV) "There failed not ought of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass. "
