1 (HEM) ויהי הגורל למטה בני יהודה למשפחתם אל גבול אדום מדבר צן נגבה מקצה תימן׃
1 (UKJV) "This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast. "

2 (HEM) ויהי להם גבול נגב מקצה ים המלח מן הלשן הפנה נגבה׃
2 (UKJV) And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looks southward:

3 (HEM) ויצא אל מנגב למעלה עקרבים ועבר צנה ועלה מנגב לקדש ברנע ועבר חצרון ועלה אדרה ונסב הקרקעה׃
3 (UKJV) And it went out to the south side to Maalehacrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadeshbarnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

4 (HEM) ועבר עצמונה ויצא נחל מצרים והיה תצאות הגבול ימה זה יהיה לכם גבול נגב׃
4 (UKJV) "From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the activities out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast. "

5 (HEM) וגבול קדמה ים המלח עד קצה הירדן וגבול לפאת צפונה מלשון הים מקצה הירדן׃
5 (UKJV) And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

6 (HEM) ועלה הגבול בית חגלה ועבר מצפון לבית הערבה ועלה הגבול אבן בהן בן ראובן׃
6 (UKJV) "And the border went up to Bethhogla, and passed along by the north of Betharabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben: "

7 (HEM) ועלה הגבול דברה מעמק עכור וצפונה פנה אל הגלגל אשר נכח למעלה אדמים אשר מנגב לנחל ועבר הגבול אל מי עין שמש והיו תצאתיו אל עין רגל׃
7 (UKJV) And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of Enshemesh, and the activities out thereof were at Enrogel:

8 (HEM) ועלה הגבול גי בן הנם אל כתף היבוסי מנגב היא ירושלם ועלה הגבול אל ראש ההר אשר על פני גי הנם ימה אשר בקצה עמק רפאים צפנה׃
8 (UKJV) "And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward: "

9 (HEM) ותאר הגבול מראש ההר אל מעין מי נפתוח ויצא אל ערי הר עפרון ותאר הגבול בעלה היא קרית יערים׃
9 (UKJV) "And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjathjearim: "

10 (HEM) ונסב הגבול מבעלה ימה אל הר שעיר ועבר אל כתף הר יערים מצפונה היא כסלון וירד בית שמש ועבר תמנה׃
10 (UKJV) And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Bethshemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

11 (HEM) ויצא הגבול אל כתף עקרון צפונה ותאר הגבול שכרונה ועבר הר הבעלה ויצא יבנאל והיו תצאות הגבול ימה׃
11 (UKJV) "And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the activities out of the border were at the sea. "

12 (HEM) וגבול ים הימה הגדול וגבול זה גבול בני יהודה סביב למשפחתם׃
12 (UKJV) And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

13 (HEM) ולכלב בן יפנה נתן חלק בתוך בני יהודה אל פי יהוה ליהושע את קרית ארבע אבי הענק היא חברון׃
13 (UKJV) And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

14 (HEM) וירש משם כלב את שלושה בני הענק את ששי ואת אחימן ואת תלמי ילידי הענק׃
14 (UKJV) And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

15 (HEM) ויעל משם אל ישבי דבר ושם דבר לפנים קרית ספר׃
15 (UKJV) And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjathsepher.

16 (HEM) ויאמר כלב אשר יכה את קרית ספר ולכדה ונתתי לו את עכסה בתי לאשה׃
16 (UKJV) And Caleb said, He that strikes Kirjathsepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

17 (HEM) וילכדה עתניאל בן קנז אחי כלב ויתן לו את עכסה בתו לאשה׃
17 (UKJV) And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

18 (HEM) ויהי בבואה ותסיתהו לשאול מאת אביה שדה ותצנח מעל החמור ויאמר לה כלב מה לך׃
18 (UKJV) "And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What would you? "

19 (HEM) ותאמר תנה לי ברכה כי ארץ הנגב נתתני ונתתה לי גלת מים ויתן לה את גלת עליות ואת גלת תחתיות׃
19 (UKJV) "Who answered, Give me a blessing; for you have given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs. "

20 (HEM) זאת נחלת מטה בני יהודה למשפחתם׃
20 (UKJV) This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

21 (HEM) ויהיו הערים מקצה למטה בני יהודה אל גבול אדום בנגבה קבצאל ועדר ויגור׃
21 (UKJV) And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

22 (HEM) וקינה ודימונה ועדעדה׃
22 (UKJV) And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

23 (HEM) וקדש וחצור ויתנן׃
23 (UKJV) And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

24 (HEM) זיף וטלם ובעלות׃
24 (UKJV) Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

25 (HEM) וחצור חדתה וקריות חצרון היא חצור׃
25 (UKJV) And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

26 (HEM) אמם ושמע ומולדה׃
26 (UKJV) Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

27 (HEM) וחצר גדה וחשמון ובית פלט׃
27 (UKJV) And Hazargaddah, and Heshmon, and Bethpalet,

32 (UKJV) And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

33 (HEM) בשפלה אשתאול וצרעה ואשנה׃
33 (UKJV) And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

34 (HEM) וזנוח ועין גנים תפוח והעינם׃
34 (UKJV) And Zanoah, and Engannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

35 (HEM) ירמות ועדלם שוכה ועזקה׃
35 (UKJV) Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

36 (HEM) ושערים ועדיתים והגדרה וגדרתים ערים ארבע עשרה וחצריהן׃
36 (UKJV) "And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages: "

37 (HEM) צנן וחדשה ומגדל גד׃
37 (UKJV) Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdalgad,

38 (HEM) ודלען והמצפה ויקתאל׃
38 (UKJV) And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

39 (HEM) לכיש ובצקת ועגלון׃
39 (UKJV) Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

40 (HEM) וכבון ולחמס וכתליש׃
40 (UKJV) And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

41 (UKJV) "And Gederoth, Bethdagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages: "

42 (HEM) לבנה ועתר ועשן׃
42 (UKJV) Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

43 (HEM) ויפתח ואשנה ונציב׃
43 (UKJV) And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

44 (HEM) וקעילה ואכזיב ומראשה ערים תשע וחצריהן׃
44 (UKJV) "And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages: "

45 (HEM) עקרון ובנתיה וחצריה׃
45 (UKJV) Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

46 (HEM) מעקרון וימה כל אשר על יד אשדוד וחצריהן׃
46 (UKJV) From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

47 (HEM) אשדוד בנותיה וחצריה עזה בנותיה וחצריה עד נחל מצרים והים הגבול וגבול׃
47 (UKJV) Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

48 (UKJV) And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

55 (UKJV) Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

56 (HEM) ויזרעאל ויקדעם וזנוח׃
56 (UKJV) And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

57 (HEM) הקין גבעה ותמנה ערים עשר וחצריהן׃
57 (UKJV) "Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages: "

58 (HEM) חלחול בית צור וגדור׃
58 (UKJV) Halhul, Bethzur, and Gedor,

59 (HEM) ומערת ובית ענות ואלתקן ערים שש וחצריהן׃
59 (UKJV) "And Maarath, and Bethanoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages: "

60 (HEM) קרית בעל היא קרית יערים והרבה ערים שתים וחצריהן׃
60 (UKJV) "Kirjathbaal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages: "

61 (HEM) במדבר בית הערבה מדין וסככה׃
61 (UKJV) In the wilderness, Betharabah, Middin, and Secacah,

62 (HEM) והנבשן ועיר המלח ועין גדי ערים שש וחצריהן׃
62 (UKJV) "And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and Engedi; six cities with their villages. "

63 (HEM) ואת היבוסי יושבי ירושלם לא יוכלו בני יהודה להורישם וישב היבוסי את בני יהודה בירושלם עד היום הזה׃
63 (UKJV) "As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day. "

Nm 34:4 - ונסב לכם הגבול מנגב למעלה עקרבים ועבר צנה והיה תוצאתיו מנגב לקדש ברנע ויצא חצר אדר ועבר עצמנה׃

Joz 15,1-4 - Udáva hranice územia Júdovcov, a to najprv južnú hranicu od východu na západ, potom východnú (t. j. Soľné more, čiže Mŕtve more), ďalej severnú hranicu od východu na západ a nakoniec západnú hranicu, ktorú tvorí Veľké, čiže Stredozemné more. Južná a severná hranica je určená mestami. – Púšť Sin sa rozkladá na hranici medzi Palestínou a Edomskom a na juh od Egyptské ho potoka (En-Nahr). – Najkrajnejšiemu juhu, totiž Kanaánu alebo Negebu. Takto južná hranica zasahovala hlboko do Sinajského polostrova. – Záliv (v. 2) a výbežok (v. 5), v hebr. doslovne jazyk. – Neskoršie bola časť južného územia Júdovho pridelená Simeonovcom, ako aj severozápadná časť zas Danovcom. Tu sa popisuje tá hranica Júdovho územia, ktorá bola ešte pred snemom v Šilo (hl. 18), na ktorom sa previedli uvedené zmeny. – Škorpiónova vysočina – Akrabbím – Nm 34,4; Sdc 1,36; 1 Mach 5,3 bude asi priesmyk es-Safa, vytvorený údolím Vadi el-Fikra, v pohorí južne od Mŕtveho mora. – Kadešbarna, Kádeš, pozri 10,41. Esron (Chesron Chasar), medzi Kádešom a Adarom pravdepodobne v kraji Vadi el-Hadire, asi 10 hodín juhovýchodne od Bersaby. – Adar, na mieste dnešných zrúcanín az-Zejfe, asi 36 km juhovýchodne od Bersaby. – Poloha Karkay je neznáma. – Asemona (Asmon), dnes Umm el-Azam, asi 25 km juhovýchodne od Bersaby.

Joz 15,6-8 - Bet-Hagla (Béth-Choglá), dnes Kasr Hadžla, 7 km severozápadne od ústia Jordána. – Bet-Araba, pri Jerichu, medzi Bet-Haglou a horstvom odtiaľ na západ. – Skala Boena, asi Tuveil el-Akabe, 2 km západne od Jericha. – O údolí Achor pozri 7,24. – Debera (hebr. Debhír), asi Togrret ed-Debr, 1 km južne od Chán-Hadrúr. – Galgala, asi 5 km juhovýchodne od dnešného Jericha (pozri 4,19). – Adomim je asi Tal at ed-Dam. – "Slnečný prameň" je Ain el-Hód, čiže Studienka apoštolov, asi 1 1/2 km východne od Betánie. – Rogel (Bír Eijúb, Studnica Jóbova) je tam, kde sa zbieha údolie Kidronské s údolím Hinomským. – Údolie Ben-Enoma (hebr. Ge-ben-Hinnom) je na južnej a západnej strane Jeruzalema, kde bývali neskoršie obetované deti (2 Kr 23,10; 2 Krn 33,6; Jer 7,31 n; 32,35). Skrátený názov tohto údolia Gehena sa používal vo význame pekla (Mt 5,22). – "Vrch, ktorý leží západne od údolia Ennom" je Džebel Abu-Tór, čiže "Hora zlej rady". – Údolie Refaim je dnešná rovina Baká, od severu vrúbená "Horou zlej rady".

Joz 15,9-12 - Prameň Neftoa (Vody Neftoachove) je 'Ain Liftá, skoro 4 km severozápadne od Jeruzalema. – Efron je horský hrebeň medzi 'Ain Liftá a Karjatiarim, ktorý tvorí jedno úbočie údolia Bet Hanina (severne od cesty z Jafty do Jeruzalema). Bála (Karjatbál vo v. 60, Karjatiarim v 9,17), dnes Kirjat el-’Enab, či Abu Góš, 3 km južne od Kefíra, na ceste z Jaffy do Jeruzalema. Seir sú vysočiny medzi Abu Góš a údolím odtiaľ na juh es-Sarár. Jarim (Hora lesov) je výšina 4 km juhozápadne od Karjatiarim. Na vysočine je dedinka Keslá, v ktorej je zachované meno starého Cheslona. – Bet-Šemeš (Príbytok slnka), dnešný 'Ain Šems (Prameň slnca) južne nad Vadi es-Sarár, 2 1/2 km juhozápadne od Artúfa. – Tamna, dnes Tibne, 4 km západne od 'Ain Šems. – Akaron, pozri 13,3. – Sechrona, medzi Akaronom a Jebneelom, asi dnešná Zernuka. – Vrch Bála, 4 km severovýchodne od Jebny. – Jebne-el, Jemnia, Jebna, 20 km južne od Jafy.

Joz 15,13-19 - Aksa (Achsa) je Kalebovou dcérou len v širšom zmysle (1 Krn 2,49). Vo Vg je Otoniel nazvaný "mladším bratom" Kalebovým, t. j. bol jeho vzdialenejší príbuzný. O Otonielovi pozri tiež Sdc 1,11 nn; 3,8–11. – Kaleb tu na vlastnú päsť si rozširuje územie, ktoré mu odovzdal Jozue (14,13). Achsa "zoskočila z osla" na znak úcty pred otcom (v. 18). – "Veno" (v. 19), doslovne v hebr. i vo Vg "požehnanie". – Vo v. 19 Vg má: "Dal si mi suchú krajinu na juhu (v Negebe), pridaj mi aj zavlažovanú" V Júdsku, kde je málo dažďov, zem bez prameňov nemá veľkej ceny.

Joz 15,21-62 - Mestá sú zadelené do 12 skupín. Na konci každej skupiny je udaný celkový počet miest, okrem 5. skupiny filištínskych miest (45–47). Najprv sú uvedené mestá v Negebe, na juhu Júdovho údelu (21–32, 1. skupina). Vypočítaných je 34 miest (ak Aen a Remon vo v. 32 pokladáme za jedno mesto), ale celkový počet je udaný 29 miest. Pravdepodobne 5 miest bolo vložených neskoršie. Potom sú vymenované mestá v nížine (33–47, t. j. 2.–5. skup. miest). Gederotaim nie je v LXX. Keď toto vynecháme, dostaneme číslicu 14 vo v. 36. – Ďalej sú uvedené mestá na vrchovine, júdskom pohorí (48–60, 6.–11. skup.). Medzi v. 59 a 60 vypadla jedna skupina miest, ktoré však LXX uvádza v tomto znení: "Tekua, Efrata, to je Betlehem, Fagor, Etam, Kulon, Tatam, Sores, Karem, Galem, Beter a Manocho: jedenásť miest s ich dedinami."– A 12. skupina sú mestá na júdskej púšti (v. 61).

Joz 15,63 - Jeruzalem patril Benjamínovcom (18,16–28), ale Jebuzejcov z neho nevypudili (Sdc 1,21). Takisto ani Júdovci nemohli sa zmocniť tohto opevneného mesta, ktoré bolo tesne na ich severnej hranici, hoci ich aj mocní Jebuzejci stále ohrozovali. Tak sa stalo, že Jeruzalem zostal akýmsi slobodným mestom medzi podielom Júdovcov a Benjamínovcov až do čias kráľa Dávida, ktorý konečne premohol Jebuzejcov (2 Sam 5); – "až dodnes" – porov. pozn. 7,26.
