1 (HEM) ויהי כשמע יבין מלך חצור וישלח אל יובב מלך מדון ואל מלך שמרון ואל מלך אכשף׃
1 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,

2 (HEM) ואל המלכים אשר מצפון בהר ובערבה נגב כנרות ובשפלה ובנפות דור מים׃
2 (UKJV) And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,

3 (HEM) הכנעני ממזרח ומים והאמרי והחתי והפרזי והיבוסי בהר והחוי תחת חרמון בארץ המצפה׃
3 (UKJV) And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.

4 (HEM) ויצאו הם וכל מחניהם עמם עם רב כחול אשר על שפת הים לרב וסוס ורכב רב מאד׃
4 (UKJV) And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.

5 (HEM) ויועדו כל המלכים האלה ויבאו ויחנו יחדו אל מי מרום להלחם עם ישראל׃
5 (UKJV) And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.

6 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אל יהושע אל תירא מפניהם כי מחר כעת הזאת אנכי נתן את כלם חללים לפני ישראל את סוסיהם תעקר ואת מרכבתיהם תשרף באש׃
6 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: in order to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: you shall cut the hamstrings of their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

7 (HEM) ויבא יהושע וכל עם המלחמה עמו עליהם על מי מרום פתאם ויפלו בהם׃
7 (UKJV) "So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them. "

8 (HEM) ויתנם יהוה ביד ישראל ויכום וירדפום עד צידון רבה ועד משרפות מים ועד בקעת מצפה מזרחה ויכם עד בלתי השאיר להם שריד׃
8 (UKJV) "And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who stroke them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they stroke them, until they left them none remaining. "

9 (HEM) ויעש להם יהושע כאשר אמר לו יהוה את סוסיהם עקר ואת מרכבתיהם שרף באש׃
9 (UKJV) And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he cut the hamstrings of their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.

10 (HEM) וישב יהושע בעת ההיא וילכד את חצור ואת מלכה הכה בחרב כי חצור לפנים היא ראש כל הממלכות האלה׃
10 (UKJV) And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and stroke the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor in time past was the head of all those kingdoms.

11 (HEM) ויכו את כל הנפש אשר בה לפי חרב החרם לא נותר כל נשמה ואת חצור שרף באש׃
11 (UKJV) And they stroke all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.

12 (HEM) ואת כל ערי המלכים האלה ואת כל מלכיהם לכד יהושע ויכם לפי חרב החרים אותם כאשר צוה משה עבד יהוה׃
12 (UKJV) And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and stroke them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.

13 (HEM) רק כל הערים העמדות על תלם לא שרפם ישראל זולתי את חצור לבדה שרף יהושע׃
13 (UKJV) "But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn. "

14 (HEM) וכל שלל הערים האלה והבהמה בזזו להם בני ישראל רק את כל האדם הכו לפי חרב עד השמדם אותם לא השאירו כל נשמה׃
14 (UKJV) "And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they stroke with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe. "

15 (HEM) כאשר צוה יהוה את משה עבדו כן צוה משה את יהושע וכן עשה יהושע לא הסיר דבר מכל אשר צוה יהוה את משה׃
15 (UKJV) "As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. "

16 (HEM) ויקח יהושע את כל הארץ הזאת ההר ואת כל הנגב ואת כל ארץ הגשן ואת השפלה ואת הערבה ואת הר ישראל ושפלתה׃
16 (UKJV) "So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same; "

17 (HEM) מן ההר החלק העולה שעיר ועד בעל גד בבקעת הלבנון תחת הר חרמון ואת כל מלכיהם לכד ויכם וימיתם׃
17 (UKJV) Even from the mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and stroke them, and slew them.

18 (HEM) ימים רבים עשה יהושע את כל המלכים האלה מלחמה׃
18 (UKJV) Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

19 (HEM) לא היתה עיר אשר השלימה אל בני ישראל בלתי החוי ישבי גבעון את הכל לקחו במלחמה׃
19 (UKJV) There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.

20 (HEM) כי מאת יהוה היתה לחזק את לבם לקראת המלחמה את ישראל למען החרימם לבלתי היות להם תחנה כי למען השמידם כאשר צוה יהוה את משה׃
20 (UKJV) For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.

21 (HEM) ויבא יהושע בעת ההיא ויכרת את הענקים מן ההר מן חברון מן דבר מן ענב ומכל הר יהודה ומכל הר ישראל עם עריהם החרימם יהושע׃
21 (UKJV) And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.

22 (HEM) לא נותר ענקים בארץ בני ישראל רק בעזה בגת ובאשדוד נשארו׃
22 (UKJV) There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.

23 (HEM) ויקח יהושע את כל הארץ ככל אשר דבר יהוה אל משה ויתנה יהושע לנחלה לישראל כמחלקתם לשבטיהם והארץ שקטה ממלחמה׃
23 (UKJV) "So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war. "
