Jak 4, 1-17

1 (UKJV) From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not behind, even of your lusts that war in your members?
1 (LS) D'où viennent les luttes, et d'où viennent les querelles parmi vous? N'est-ce pas de vos passions qui combattent dans vos membres?

2 (UKJV) All of you lust, and have not: all of you kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: all of you fight and war, yet all of you have not, because all of you ask not.
2 (LS) Vous convoitez, et vous ne possédez pas; vous êtes meurtriers et envieux, et vous ne pouvez pas obtenir; vous avez des querelles et des luttes, et vous ne possédez pas, parce que vous ne demandez pas.

3 (UKJV) All of you ask, and receive not, because all of you ask amiss, that all of you may consume it upon your lusts.
3 (LS) Vous demandez, et vous ne recevez pas, parce que vous demandez mal, dans le but de satisfaire vos passions.

4 (UKJV) All of you adulterers and adulteresses, know all of you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
4 (LS) Adultères que vous êtes! ne savez-vous pas que l'amour du monde est inimitié contre Dieu? Celui donc qui veut être ami du monde se rend ennemi de Dieu.

5 (UKJV) Do all of you think that the scripture says in vain, The spirit (o. pneuma) that dwells in us lusts to envy?
5 (LS) Croyez-vous que l'Ecriture parle en vain? C'est avec jalousie que Dieu chérit l'esprit qu'il a fait habiter en nous.

6 (UKJV) But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.
6 (LS) Il accorde, au contraire, une grâce plus excellente; c'est pourquoi l'Ecriture dit: Dieu résiste aux orgueilleux, Mais il fait grâce aux humbles.

7 (UKJV) Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
7 (LS) Soumettez-vous donc à Dieu; résistez au diable, et il fuira loin de vous.

8 (UKJV) "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, all of you sinners; and purify your hearts, all of you double minded. "
8 (LS) Approchez-vous de Dieu, et il s'approchera de vous. Nettoyez vos mains, pécheurs; purifiez vos coeurs, hommes irrésolus.

9 (UKJV) Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
9 (LS) Sentez votre misère; soyez dans le deuil et dans les larmes; que votre rire se change en deuil, et votre joie en tristesse.

10 (UKJV) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
10 (LS) Humiliez-vous devant le Seigneur, et il vous élèvera.

11 (UKJV) Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaks evil of his brother, and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law, and judges the law: but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
11 (LS) Ne parlez point mal les uns des autres, frères. Celui qui parle mal d'un frère, ou qui juge son frère, parle mal de la loi et juge la loi. Or, si tu juges la loi, tu n'es pas observateur de la loi, mais tu en es juge.

12 (UKJV) There is one lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy: who are you that judge another?
12 (LS) Un seul est législateur et juge, c'est celui qui peut sauver et perdre; mais toi, qui es-tu, qui juges le prochain?

13 (UKJV) Go to now, all of you that say, To day or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
13 (LS) A vous maintenant, qui dites: Aujourd'hui ou demain nous irons dans telle ville, nous y passerons une année, nous trafiquerons, et nous gagnerons!

14 (UKJV) Whereas all of you know not what shall be on the next day. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
14 (LS) Vous qui ne savez pas ce qui arrivera demain! car, qu'est-ce que votre vie? Vous êtes une vapeur qui paraît pour un peu de temps, et qui ensuite disparaît.

15 (UKJV) For that all of you ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
15 (LS) Vous devriez dire, au contraire: Si Dieu le veut, nous vivrons, et nous ferons ceci ou cela.

16 (UKJV) But now all of you rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil.
16 (LS) Mais maintenant vous vous glorifiez dans vos pensées orgueilleuses. C'est chose mauvaise que de se glorifier de la sorte.

17 (UKJV) Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.
17 (LS) Celui donc qui sait faire ce qui est bien, et qui ne le fait pas, commet un péché.

From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not behind, even of your lusts that war in your members?

Rim 7:23 - But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

1Pt 2:11 - "Dearly beloved, I plead to you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; "

All of you ask, and receive not, because all of you ask amiss, that all of you may consume it upon your lusts.

Mt 20:22 - But Jesus answered and said, All of you know not what all of you ask. Are all of you able to drink of the cup that I shall drink of, and to be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with? They say unto him, We are able.

Rim 8:26 - Likewise the Spirit (o. pneuma) also helps our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit (o. pneuma) itself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Jn 15:9 - As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you: continue all of you in my love. (o. agape)

Gal 1:10 - For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

1Jn 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love (o. agape) of the Father is not in him.

Verš 5

Do all of you think that the scripture says in vain, The spirit (o. pneuma) that dwells in us lusts to envy?

Nm 11:29 - And Moses said unto him, Envy you for my sake? would God that all the LORD's people were prophets, and that the LORD would put his spirit upon them!

Verš 6

But he gives more grace. Wherefore he says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.

Prís 3:34 - Surely he scorns the scorners: but he gives grace unto the lowly.

1Pt 5:5 - Likewise, all of you younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble.

Verš 7

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Ef 4:27 - Neither give place to the devil.

1Pt 5:9 - Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, all of you sinners; and purify your hearts, all of you double minded. "

Iz 1:15 - And when all of you spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when all of you make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

Mt 5:4 - Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Jób 22:29 - "When men are cast down, then you shall say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. "

Prís 29:23 - A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

Mt 23:12 - "And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought low; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. "

Lk 14:11 - "For whosoever exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted. "

Lk 18:14 - "I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalts himself shall be brought low; and he that humbles himself shall be exalted. "

1Pt 5:6 - Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

Rim 14:4 - Who are you that judge another man's servant? to his own master he stands or falls. Yea, he shall be held up: for God is able to make him stand.

Go to now, all of you that say, To day or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:

Lk 12:18 - "And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods. "

Iz 40:6 - The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

1Kor 7:31 - And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passes away.

Jak 1:10 - But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

1Pt 1:24 - For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:

For that all of you ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

Sk 18:21 - But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that comes in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

1Kor 4:19 - But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord will, and will know, not the speech (o. logos) of them which are puffed up, but the power.

Heb 6:3 - And this will we do, if God permit.

Verš 17

Therefore to him that knows to do good, and does it not, to him it is sin.

Lk 12:47 - And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
