(KJV - Anglický - King James)

Jak 2, 1-26

1 (KJV) My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.
1 (B21) Bratři moji, nespojujte víru našeho slavného Pána Ježíše Krista s předpojatostí.

2 (KJV) For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

3 (KJV) And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

4 (KJV) Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
4 (B21) copak tím mezi sebou neděláte rozdíly? Neposuzujete lidi špatným měřítkem?

5 (KJV) Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?
5 (B21) Poslouchejte, milovaní bratři: Copak Bůh nevyvolil chudáky tohoto světa, aby byli bohatí ve víře? Nemají právě oni zdědit království, které Bůh zaslíbil těm, kdo jej milují?

6 (KJV) But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
6 (B21) Vy ale chudého klidně ponížíte! Nejsou to přitom právě bohatí, kdo vás utiskuje a vláčí po soudech?

7 (KJV) Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
7 (B21) Nerouhají se právě oni tomu vzácnému jménu, kterým jste označeni?

8 (KJV) If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
8 (B21) Pokud opravdu plníte královský zákon, jak praví Písmo: "Miluj svého bližního jako sám sebe," dobře děláte.

9 (KJV) But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

10 (KJV) For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

11 (KJV) For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.
11 (B21) Tentýž, kdo řekl: "Necizolož," řekl také: "Nezabíjej." Pokud tedy necizoložíš, ale zabíjíš, přestupuješ Zákon.

12 (KJV) So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

13 (KJV) For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
13 (B21) Toho, kdo nebyl milosrdný, čeká nemilosrdný soud. Milosrdenství však nad soudem vítězí.

14 (KJV) What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 (KJV) If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 (KJV) And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 (KJV) Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 (KJV) Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
18 (B21) Někdo na to řekne: "Jeden má víru, druhý zase skutky." Nuže, ukaž mi tu svou víru bez skutků a já ti ukážu svou víru na svých skutcích.

19 (KJV) Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 (KJV) But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

21 (KJV) Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
21 (B21) Nebyl snad náš otec Abraham ospravedlněn na základě skutků, když přinesl svého syna Izáka na oltář?

22 (KJV) Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
22 (B21) Vidíš? Víra podporovala jeho skutky a díky těm skutkům jeho víra došla naplnění!

23 (KJV) And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

24 (KJV) Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

25 (KJV) Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

26 (KJV) For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Joz 2:1 - And Joshua the son of Nun sent out of Shittim two men to spy secretly, saying, Go view the land, even Jericho. And they went, and came into an harlot's house, named Rahab, and lodged there.
Joz 6:23 - And the young men that were spies went in, and brought Rahab, and her father, and her mother, and her brethren, and all that she had; and they brought out all her kindred, and left them without the camp of Israel.
Heb 11:31 - By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.

Jak 2,5 - Porov. 1 Kor 1, 26–38.

2 Sol 3, 10–12).

Jak 2,21 - Gn 22, 9; porov. Hebr 11, 17.

Jak 2,23 - Gn 15, 6; porov. Rim 4, 3; Gal 3, 6.

Jak 2,25 - Porov. Joz 2, 1–26; Hebr 11, 31.
