1 (CPDV) For the law contains the shadow of future good things, not the very image of these things. So, by the very same sacrifices which they offer ceaselessly 688 each year, they can never cause these to approach perfection.
1 (ROH) Lebo zákon majúc iba tôňu budúceho dobrého, nie sám obraz vecí, nemôže nikdy obeťami, tými istými každého roku, ktoré ustavične donášajú, zdokonaliť tých, ktorí prichádzajú.
2 (CPDV) Otherwise, they would have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, once cleansed, would no longer be conscious of any sin.
2 (ROH) Lebo či by ich už neboli prestali donášať preto, že by už tí, ktorí svätoslúžia, raz očistení, nemali nejakého svedomia hriechov?
3 (CPDV) Instead, in these things, a commemoration of sins is made every year.
3 (ROH) Ale v nich leží upomienka na hriechy rok po roku.
4 (CPDV) For it is impossible for sins to be taken away by the blood of oxen and goats.
4 (ROH) Lebo nie je možné, aby krv býkov a kozlov odňala hriechy.
5 (CPDV) For this reason, as Christ enters into the world, he says: “Sacrifice and oblation, you did not want. But you have fashioned a body for me.
5 (ROH) Preto vchádzajúc do sveta hovorí: Obeti a posvätného daru si nechcel, ale si mi ustrojil telo.
6 (CPDV) Holocausts for sin were not pleasing to you.
6 (ROH) V zápalných obetiach ani v obetiach za hriech si nemal záľuby.
7 (CPDV) Then I said, ‘Behold, I draw near.’ At the head of the book, it has been written of me that I should do your will, O God.”
7 (ROH) Vtedy som povedal: Hľa, idem - v záhlaví knihy je napísané o mne -, aby som činil, ó, Bože, tvoju vôľu.
8 (CPDV) In the above, by saying, “Sacrifices, and oblations, and holocausts for sin, you did not want, nor are those things pleasing to you, which are offered according to the law;
8 (ROH) Keď tu vyššie hovorí: Obetí a posvätného daru a zápalných obetí ani obetí za hriech si nechcel ani si v nich nemal záľuby, v obetiach, ktoré sa donášajú podľa zákona,
9 (CPDV) then I said, ‘Behold, I have come to do your will, O God,’ ” he takes away the first, so that he may establish what follows.
9 (ROH) potom riekol: Hľa, idem činiť, ó, Bože, tvoju vôľu. Ruší prvé, aby postavil druhé;
10 (CPDV) For by this will, we have been sanctified, through the one time oblation of the body of Jesus Christ.
10 (ROH) v ktorej vôli sme posvätení donesenou obeťou tela Ježiša Krista, raz navždy.
11 (CPDV) And certainly, every priest stands by, ministering daily, and frequently offering the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins.
11 (ROH) A každý kňaz stojí svätoslúžiac deň ako deň a často donáša tie isté obeti, ktoré nemôžu nikdy sňať hriechy.
12 (CPDV) But this man, offering one sacrifice for sins, sits at the right hand of God forever,
12 (ROH) Ale on donesúc jednu bitnú obeť za hriechy navždy sa posadil po pravici Božej.
13 (CPDV) awaiting that time when his enemies will be made his footstool.
13 (ROH) A teraz už len očakáva, až budú jeho nepriatelia položení za podnož jeho nôh.
14 (CPDV) For, by one oblation, he has brought to fulfillment, for all time, those who are sanctified.
14 (ROH) Lebo jednou obeťou zdokonalil navždy tých, ktorí sa posväcujú.
15 (CPDV) Now the Holy Spirit also testifies for us about this. For afterward, he said:
15 (ROH) A svedčí nám i Svätý Duch. Lebo potom, keď prv povedal:
16 (CPDV) “And this is the testament which I will commit to them after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their hearts, and I will inscribe my laws on their minds.
16 (ROH) Toto je smluva, ktorú uzavriem s nimi po tých dňoch, hovorí Pán: Dám svoje zákony na ich srdcia a napíšem ich na ich mysle
17 (CPDV) And I will no longer remember their sins and iniquities.”
17 (ROH) a na ich hriechy a na ich neprávosti viacej nikdy nespomeniem.
18 (CPDV) Now, when there is a remission of these things, there is no longer an oblation for sin.
18 (ROH) A kde je toho odpustenie, tam viacej netreba obeti za hriech.
19 (CPDV) And so, brothers, have faith in the entrance into the Holy of Holies by the blood of Christ,
19 (ROH) Keď tedy máme, bratia, smelosť do vchodu do svätyne v krvi Ježišovej -
20 (CPDV) and in the new and living Way, which he has initiated for us by the veil, that is, by his flesh,
20 (ROH) ktorý to vchod nám vysvätil ako cestu novú a živú cez oponu, to jest cez svoje telo -
21 (CPDV) and in the Great Priest over the house of God.

22 (CPDV) So, let us draw near with a true heart, in the fullness of faith, having hearts cleansed from an evil conscience, and bodies absolved with clean water.
22 (ROH) pristupujme s pravdivým srdcom v plnej istote viery majúc pokropené srdcia a tak očistené od zlého svedomia
23 (CPDV) Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope, without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.
23 (ROH) a telo umyté čistou vodou držme vyznanie nádeje neochvejne, lebo je verný ten, ktorý zasľúbil.
24 (CPDV) And let us be considerate of one another, so as to prompt ourselves to charity and to good works,
24 (ROH) A pozorujme sa navzájom tým cieľom, aby sme sa roznecovali k láske a k dobrým skutkom
25 (CPDV) not deserting our assembly, as some are accustomed to do, but consoling one another, and even more so as you see that the day is approaching.
25 (ROH) neopúšťajúc svojho shromaždenia, ako majú niektorí obyčaj, ale napomínajúc sa, a to tým viacej, čím viacej vidíte, že sa blíži ten deň.
26 (CPDV) For if we sin willingly, after receiving knowledge of the truth, there is no sacrifice remaining for sins,
26 (ROH) Lebo keď dobrovoľne hrešíme po prijatí známosti pravdy, nepozostáva už viacej obeti za hriechy,
27 (CPDV) but instead, a certain terrible expectation of judgment, and the rage of a fire that shall consume its adversaries.
27 (ROH) ale jakési strašné očakávanie súdu a prudká pálivosť ohňa, ktorý má žrať protivníkov.
28 (CPDV) If someone dies for acting against the law of Moses, and is shown no compassion because of two or three witnesses,
28 (ROH) Keď niekto pohŕdol zákonom Mojžišovým, bez milosrdenstva zomrie na dvoch alebo na troch svedkov,
29 (CPDV) how much more, do you think, someone would deserve worse punishments, if he has tread upon the Son of God, and has treated the blood of the testament, by which he was sanctified, as unclean, and has acted with disgrace toward the Spirit of grace?
29 (ROH) a o koľko, domnievam sa, prísnejšieho trestu bude uznaný za hodného ten, kto zašliapal Syna Božieho a krv smluvy, ktorou bol posvätený, povážil za obecnú a Duchu milosti urobil potupu?!
30 (CPDV) For we know that he has said: “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
30 (ROH) Lebo známe toho, ktorý povedal: Mne pomsta; ja odplatím, hovorí Pán. A zase: Pán bude súdiť svoj ľud.
31 (CPDV) It is dreadful to fall into the hands of the living God.
31 (ROH) Strašné je upadnúť do rúk živého Boha.
32 (CPDV) But call to mind the former days, in which, after being enlightened, you endured a great struggle of afflictions.
32 (ROH) Spomínajte si na predošlé dni, v ktorých súc osvietení, ztrpeli ste mnohý boj utrpení,
33 (CPDV) And certainly, in one way, by insults and tribulations, you were made a spectacle, but in another way, you became the companions of those who were the object of such behavior.
33 (ROH) keď ste za jedno pohaneniami a súženiami bývali divadlom a za druhé účastníkmi tých, ktorí boli tiež tak zmietaní.
34 (CPDV) For you even had compassion on those who were imprisoned, and you accepted with gladness being deprived of your goods, knowing that you have a better and more lasting substance.
34 (ROH) Lebo aj v mojich putách ste spolu súcitili i rozchvátanie svojho majetku ste prijali s radosťou, vediac, že máte v sebe lepšie imanie, a trvalé.
35 (CPDV) And so, do not lose your confidence, which has a great reward.
35 (ROH) Tedy neodhoďte svojej smelej dôvery, ktorá má veľkú odplatu.
36 (CPDV) For it is necessary for you to be patient, so that, by doing the will of God, you may receive the promise.
36 (ROH) Lebo vám je trpezlivosti treba, aby ste si, keď vykonáte vôľu Božiu, odniesli zasľúbenie.
37 (CPDV) “For, in a little while, and somewhat longer, he who is to come will return, and he will not delay.
37 (ROH) Lebo ešte málo, máličko, a ten, ktorý má prijsť, prijde a nebude meškať.
38 (CPDV) For my just man lives by faith. But if he were to draw himself back, he would not please my soul.”
38 (ROH) A spravedlivý bude žiť z viery. A keby sa utiahol, nemá v ňom záľuby moja duša.
39 (CPDV) So then, we are not sons who are drawn away to perdition, but we are sons of faith toward the securing of the soul.
39 (ROH) Ale my nie sme ľuďmi, ktorí by sa uťahovali, do zahynutia, ale ľudia viery dobyť dušu.

Kol 2:17 - For these are a shadow of the future, but the body is of Christ.
Heb 8:5 - gifts which serve as mere examples and shadows of the heavenly things. And so it was answered to Moses, when he was about to complete the tabernacle: “See to it,” he said, “that you make everything according to the example which was revealed to you on the mountain.”

Ž 40:6 - My enemies have spoken evils against me. When will he die and his name perish?
Iz 1:11 - The 398 multitude of your sacrifices, what is that to me, says the Lord? I am full. I do not desire holocausts of rams, nor the fat of fatlings, nor the blood of calves and of lambs and of he-goats.
Jer 6:20 - For what reason are you bringing me frankincense from Sheba, and sweet smelling reeds from a far away land? Your holocausts are not acceptable, and your sacrifices are not pleasing to me.”
Am 5:21 - I hate and have rejected your feasts; and I will not accept the odor from your gatherings.

For my just man lives by faith. But if he were to draw himself back, he would not please my soul.”

If someone dies for acting against the law of Moses, and is shown no compassion because of two or three witnesses,
Nm 35:30 - The punishment of a murderer shall be based upon testimony; but no one shall be condemned upon the testimony of only one person.
Dt 17:6 - By the mouth of two or three witnesses, he who is to be put to death shall perish. Let no one be killed with only one person speaking testimony against him.
Dt 19:15 - One witness shall not stand against another, no matter what the sin or outrage may be. For every word shall stand by the mouth of two or three witnesses.
Mt 18:16 - But if he will not listen you, invite with you one or two more, so that every word may stand by the mouth of two or three witnesses.
2Kor 13:1 - Behold, this is the third time that I am coming to you. By the mouth of two or three witnesses, every word shall stand.

For we know that he has said: “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”
Dt 32:35 - Vengeance is mine, and I will repay them in due time, so that their foot may slip and fall. The day of perdition is near, and the time rushes to appear.’
Rim 12:19 - Do not defend yourselves, dearest ones. Instead, step aside from wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is mine. I shall give retribution, says the Lord.”
Dt 32:36 - The Lord will judge his people, and he will take pity on his servants. He will see that their hand has been weakened, and that those who have been enclosed have likewise failed, and that those who have been left behind have been consumed.

“For, in a little while, and somewhat longer, he who is to come will return, and he will not delay.

1Pt 1:6 - In this, you should exult, if now, for a brief time, it is necessary to be made sorrowful by various trials,
1Pt 5:10 - But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will himself perfect, confirm, and establish us, after a brief time of suffering.
Hebr 10,1 - Mojžišov zákon je iba nedokonalým predobrazom dokonalého nového zákona evanjelia.
Hebr 10,5-7 - Ž 40, 7–9.
Hebr 10,11 - Ide tu o kňazov a obety Starého zákona. Je tu vyjadrený protiklad: starozákonní kňazi pri bohoslužbe stáli a ustavične prinášali obety, ktoré nemohli odstrániť hriech; Kristus priniesol iba jedinú obetu, ktorou nás vykúpil z hriechov, a teraz sedí po pravici Boha.
Hebr 10,13 - Ž 110, 1.
Hebr 10,14 - Jedinou obetou na kríži Kristus priviedol kresťanov k dokonalosti, t. j. schopnosti vzdávať Bohu pravú úctu; táto schopnosť pochádza z odpustenia hriechov a svätosti života. Kresťania sa "posväcujú" Kristovou krvou vyliatou za nich.
Hebr 10,16-17 - Jer 31, 33–34.
Hebr 10,19-20 - Ide o nebeskú svätyňu (porov. 9, 24). Vstup do nej sa prirovnáva vstupu cez oponu do jeruzalemskej svätyne. Tento vstup nám umožnil Ježiš Kristus svojím vykupiteľským dielom.
Hebr 10,22-24 - O troch božských čnostiach porov. 1 Kor 13, 3.
Hebr 10,25 - Zhromaždenia (porov. Sk 2, 46; 20, 7; 1 Kor 11, 17–21; 14, 23) sú prejavy spoločného života prvotnej Cirkvi. "Blíži sa deň" je pripomienka na slávny Kristov príchod na konci vekov.
Hebr 10,26 - Zmysel verša je ten istý ako v 6, 4–8. Ak kresťan dobrovoľným hriechom zavrhne Krista, odmietne jeho obetu, potom preňho už niet inej obety.
Hebr 10,28 - Porov. Nm 15, 30; 35, 30; Dt 17, 6.
Hebr 10,30 - Dt 32, 35 n.
Hebr 10,32 - "Osvietenie" – porov. poznámku k 6, 4; Ef 5, 13–14.
