1 (UKJV) Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellow labourer,
1 (LS) Paul, prisonnier de Jésus-Christ, et le frère Timothée, à Philémon, notre bien-aimé et notre compagnon d'oeuvre,

2 (UKJV) And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellow soldier, and to the church in your house:
2 (LS) à la soeur Apphia, à Archippe, notre compagnon de combat, et à l'Eglise qui est dans ta maison:

3 (UKJV) Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 (LS) que la grâce et la paix vous soient données de la part de Dieu notre Père et du Seigneur Jésus-Christ!

4 (UKJV) I thank my God, making mention of you always in my prayers,
4 (LS) Je rends continuellement grâces à mon Dieu, faisant mention de toi dans mes prières,

5 (UKJV) "Hearing of your love (o. agape) and faith, which you have toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints; "
5 (LS) parce que je suis informé de la foi que tu as au Seigneur Jésus et de ta charité pour tous les saints.

6 (UKJV) That the communication of your faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.
6 (LS) Je lui demande que ta participation à la foi soit efficace pour la cause de Christ, en faisant reconnaître en nous toute espèce de bien.

7 (UKJV) For we have great joy and consolation in your love, (o. agape) because the bowels of the saints are refreshed by you, brother.
7 (LS) J'ai, en effet, éprouvé beaucoup de joie et de consolation au sujet de ta charité; car par toi, frère, le coeur des saints a été tranquillisé.

8 (UKJV) Wherefore, though I might be much bold in Christ to admonish you that which is convenient,
8 (LS) C'est pourquoi, bien que j'aie en Christ toute liberté de te prescrire ce qui est convenable,

9 (UKJV) Yet for love's (o. agape) sake I rather plead to you, being such an one as Paul the aged, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
9 (LS) c'est de préférence au nom de la charité que je t'adresse une prière, étant ce que je suis, Paul, vieillard, et de plus maintenant prisonnier de Jésus-Christ.

10 (UKJV) I plead to you for my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds:
10 (LS) Je te prie pour mon enfant, que j'ai engendré étant dans les chaînes, Onésime,

11 (UKJV) Which in time past was to you useless, but now profitable to you and to me:
11 (LS) qui autrefois t'a été inutile, mais qui maintenant est utile, et à toi et à moi.

12 (UKJV) Whom I have sent again: you therefore receive him, that is, mine own bowels:
12 (LS) Je te le renvoie lui, mes propres entrailles.

13 (UKJV) Whom I would have retained with me, that in your position he might have ministered unto me in the bonds of the gospel:
13 (LS) J'aurais désiré le retenir auprès de moi, pour qu'il me servît à ta place, pendant que je suis dans les chaînes pour l'Evangile.

14 (UKJV) "But without your mind would I do nothing; that your benefit should not be as it were of necessity, but willingly. "
14 (LS) Toutefois, je n'ai rien voulu faire sans ton avis, afin que ton bienfait ne soit pas comme forcé, mais qu'il soit volontaire.

15 (UKJV) "For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that you should receive him for ever; "
15 (LS) Peut-être a-t-il été séparé de toi pour un temps, afin que tu le recouvres pour l'éternité,

16 (UKJV) Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto you, both in the flesh, and in the Lord?
16 (LS) non plus comme un esclave, mais comme supérieur à un esclave, comme un frère bien-aimé, de moi particulièrement, et de toi à plus forte raison, soit dans la chair, soit dans le Seigneur.

17 (UKJV) If you count me therefore a partner, receive him as myself.
17 (LS) Si donc tu me tiens pour ton ami, reçois-le comme moi-même.

18 (UKJV) "If he has wronged you, or owes you ought, put that on mine account; "
18 (LS) Et s'il t'a fait quelque tort, ou s'il te doit quelque chose, mets-le sur mon compte.

19 (UKJV) I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: although it be I do not say to you how you owe unto me even your own self besides.
19 (LS) Moi Paul, je l'écris de ma propre main, -je paierai, pour ne pas te dire que tu te dois toi-même à moi.

20 (UKJV) Yea, brother, let me have joy of you in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.
20 (LS) Oui, frère, que j'obtienne de toi cet avantage, dans le Seigneur; tranquillise mon coeur en Christ.

21 (UKJV) Having confidence in your obedience I wrote unto you, knowing that you will also do more than I say.
21 (LS) C'est en comptant sur ton obéissance que je t'écris, sachant que tu feras même au delà de ce que je dis.

22 (UKJV) But likewise prepare me also a lodging: for I trust that through your prayers I shall be given unto you.
22 (LS) En même temps, prépare-moi un logement, car j'espère vous être rendu, grâce à vos prières.

23 (UKJV) "There salute you Epaphras, my fellow-prisoner in Christ Jesus; "
23 (LS) Epaphras, mon compagnon de captivité en Jésus-Christ, te salue,

24 (UKJV) Marcus, Aristarchus, Demas, Lucas, my fellow labourers.
24 (LS) ainsi que Marc, Aristarque, Démas, Luc, mes compagnons d'oeuvre.

25 (UKJV) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. (o. pneuma) Amen.
25 (LS) Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec votre esprit!
