1 (CPDV) Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow laborer,
1 (ROH) Pavel, väzeň Krista Ježiša, a brat Timoteus milovanému Filémonovi a nášmu spolupracovníkovi
2 (CPDV) and to Apphia, most beloved sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in your house.
2 (ROH) a Apfii, milovanej sestre, a Archippovi, nášmu spolubojovníkovi, aj sboru, ktorý je v tvojom dome:
3 (CPDV) Grace and peace to you, from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 (ROH) milosť vám a pokoj od Boha, nášho Otca, a od Pána Ježiša Krista.
4 (CPDV) I give thanks to my God, always keeping remembrance of you in my prayers,
4 (ROH) Ďakujem vždycky svojmu Bohu zmieňujúc sa o tebe na svojich modlitbách,
5 (CPDV) (for I am hearing of your charity and faith, which you have in the Lord Jesus and with all the saints)
5 (ROH) počujúc o tvojej láske a viere, ktorú máš k Pánu Ježišovi a naproti všetkým svätým,
6 (CPDV) so that the participation of your faith may become evident by the recognition of every good work which is in you in Christ Jesus.
6 (ROH) aby obecenstvo tvojej viery bolo účinné poznaním všetkého dobrého, ktoré je vo vás cieľom Krista Ježiša.
7 (CPDV) For I have found great joy and consolation in your charity, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed by you, brother.
7 (ROH) Lebo máme veľkú radosť a potešenie z tvojej lásky, že tebou okrialy srdcia svätých, bratu.
8 (CPDV) Because of this, I have enough confidence in Christ Jesus to command you concerning certain things,
8 (ROH) A preto, hoci mám veľkú smelosť v Kristovi rozkázať ti, čo náleží,
9 (CPDV) but I beg you instead, for the sake of charity, since you are so much like Paul: an old man and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ.
9 (ROH) pre lásku radšej prosím súc taký jako starý Pavel a teraz i väzeň Ježiša Krista,
10 (CPDV) I beg you, on behalf of my son, whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus.
10 (ROH) prosím ťa o svoje dieťa, ktoré som ja splodil vo svojich putách, Onezima,
11 (CPDV) In times past, he was useless to you, but now he is useful both to me and to you.
11 (ROH) ktorý ti bol kedysi neužitočný, ale teraz tebe i mne užitočný, ktorého som ti zase poslal,
12 (CPDV) So I have sent him back to you. And may you receive him like my own heart.
12 (ROH) a ty ho, to jest moje srdce, prijmi,
13 (CPDV) I myself wanted to retain him with me, so that he might minister to me, on your behalf, while I am in the chains of the Gospel.
13 (ROH) ktorého som ja chcel podržať u seba, aby mi za teba slúžil v putách evanjelia,
14 (CPDV) But I was willing to do nothing without your counsel, so as not to make use of your good deed as if out of necessity, but only willingly.
14 (ROH) ale bez toho, aby som vedel tvoju mienku, nechcel som nič urobiť, aby tvoje dobré nebolo jako vynútené, ale dobrovoľné.
15 (CPDV) So perhaps, then, he departed from you for a time, so that you might receive him again for eternity,
15 (ROH) Lebo snáď práve preto bol odišiel na krátky čas, aby si ho potom mal na veky,
16 (CPDV) no longer as a servant, but, in place of a servant, a most beloved brother, especially to me: but how much so more to you, both in the flesh and in the Lord!
16 (ROH) nie viac ako sluhu, ale viac ako sluhu, jako milovaného brata, zvlášte mne, a o koľko viacej tebe i v tele i v Pánovi.
17 (CPDV) Therefore, if you hold me to be a companion, receive him as you would me.
17 (ROH) Ak tedy mňa máš za spoluúčastníka, prijmi ho jako mňa.
18 (CPDV) But if he has harmed you in any way, or if he is in your debt, charge it to me.
18 (ROH) A jestli ti niečo ukrivdil alebo ti je niečo dlžný, pripočítaj to mne.
19 (CPDV) I, Paul, have written this with my own hand: I will repay. And I need not tell you, that you are also in debt yourself, to me.
19 (ROH) Ja, Pavel, som to napísal vlastnou rukou, ja zaplatím, aby som ti nepovedal, že si mi aj sám seba dlžný.
20 (CPDV) So it is, brother. May I delight with you in the Lord! Refresh my heart in Christ.
20 (ROH) Áno, bratu, nech mám ja z teba užitok v Pánovi; občerstvi moje srdce v Pánovi.
21 (CPDV) I have written to you, trusting in your obedience, knowing, too, that you will do even more than what I say.
21 (ROH) Dôverujúc tvojej poslušnosti som ti to napísal vediac, že urobíš aj nad to, čo hovorím.
22 (CPDV) But also, at once, prepare a lodging for me. For I am hoping, through your prayers, to present myself to you.
22 (ROH) A zároveň mi aj prihotov hospodu, lebo sa nadejem, že vašimi modlitbami budem vám darovaný.
23 (CPDV) Greet Epaphras, my fellow captive in Christ Jesus,
23 (ROH) Pozdravuje ta Epafras, môj spoluzajatec v Kristu Ježišovi,
24 (CPDV) and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my helpers.
24 (ROH) Marek, Aristarchus, Démas, Lukáš, moji spolupracovníci.
25 (CPDV) May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.

Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy, a brother, to Philemon, our beloved fellow laborer,
Ef 3:1 - By reason of this grace, I, Paul, am a prisoner of Jesus Christ, for the sake of you Gentiles.
Ef 4:1 - And so, as a prisoner in the Lord, I beg you to walk in a manner worthy of the vocation to which you have been called:

and to Apphia, most beloved sister, and to Archippus, our fellow soldier, and to the church which is in your house.
Kol 4:17 - And tell Archippus: “See to the ministry that you have received in the Lord, in order to fulfill it.”
Rim 16:5 - and greet the church at their house. Greet Epaenetus, my beloved, who is among the first-fruits of Asia in Christ.
1Kor 16:19 - The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you greatly in the Lord, with the church of their household, where I also am a guest.

I give thanks to my God, always keeping remembrance of you in my prayers,
1Sol 1:2 - Grace and peace to you. We give thanks to God always for all of you, keeping the memory of you in our prayers without ceasing,
2Sol 1:3 - We ought to give thanks always to God for you, brothers, in a fitting manner, because your faith is increasing greatly, and because the charity of each of you toward one another is abundant,

I beg you, on behalf of my son, whom I have begotten in my chains, Onesimus.

Kol 1:7 - just as you learned it from Epaphras, our most beloved fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Christ Jesus.
Kol 4:12 - Epaphras greets you, who is from among you, a servant of Christ Jesus, ever solicitous for you in prayer, so that you may stand, perfect and complete, in the entire will of God.

and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my helpers.

Flm 1,2 - Podľa všetkého Apfia bola Filemonova manželka. Archippos bol pravdepodobne "starší", čiže presbyter, ktorý za neprítomnosti predstaveného cirkvi Epafra (ten bol vtedy po boku väzneného Pavla - porov. v. 23) viedol duchovnú správu v Kolosách (Kol 4, 17).
Flm 1,5 - Svätí sú veriaci na základe zasvätenia Kristovi.
Flm 1,9 - Pavol vekove nebol veľmi starý, ale bol zostarnutý utrpením a apoštolskou námahou.
Flm 1,10 - Pavol Onezima "splodil", čiže obrátil na kresťanskú vieru, kým bol väznený.
Flm 1,11 - Pavol tu naráža na Onezimovo meno (gr. onézimos = užitočný).
Flm 1,12 - Výraz "moje srdce" je priam prevratná definícia človeka - otroka v čase, keď otroka považovali iba za vec.
Flm 1,16 - I podľa tela aj v Pánovi, čiže ako človeka i ako kresťana.
Flm 1,17 - Výraz "za druha", doslovne "v spoločenstve (s tebou)", rozumie sa vo viere, teda "za brata vo viere".
Flm 1,18 - Útek sa ukázal prozreteľnostný, lebo Onezimos sa stretol s Pavlom a stal sa kresťanom a Apoštolovým pomocníkom.
Flm 1,19 - Filemon je dlžen Pavlovi seba samého ako kresťan, lebo Pavol ho priviedol k viere.
Flm 1,21 - Pavol má nádej, že Filemon oslobodí Onezima úplne, aby mohol byť Apoštolovým spolupracovníkom pri hlásaní evanjelia.
Flm 1,22 - Pavol cíti, že Pán vyslyší modlitby veriacich a vyslobodí ho zo žalára.
Flm 1,23-25 - Porov. Kol 4, 10-11. Epafras, ako sa zdá, býval spolu s Pavlom v dome väzenia.
