1 2Tim 4, 1 I testify before God, and before Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead through his return and his kingdom: 2 2Tim 4, 2 that you should preach the word urgently, in season and out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke, with all patience and doctrine. 3 2Tim 4, 3 For there shall be a time when they will not endure sound doctrine, but instead, according to their own desires, they will gather to themselves teachers, with itching ears, 4 2Tim 4, 4 and certainly, they will turn their hearing away from the truth, and they will be turned toward fables. 5 2Tim 4, 5 But as for you, truly, be vigilant, laboring in all things. Do the work of an Evangelist, fulfilling your ministry. Show self-restraint. 6 2Tim 4, 6 For I am already being worn away, and the time of my dissolution presses close. 7 2Tim 4, 7 I have fought the good fight. I have completed the course. I have preserved the faith. 8 2Tim 4, 8 As for the remainder, a crown of justice has been reserved for me, one which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to those who look forward to his return. Hurry to return to me soon. 9 2Tim 4, 9 For Demas has abandoned me, out of love for this age, and he has departed for Thessalonica. 10 2Tim 4, 10 Crescens has gone to Galatia; Titus to Dalmatia. 11 2Tim 4, 11 Luke alone is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you; for he is useful to me in the ministry. 12 2Tim 4, 12 But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus. 13 2Tim 4, 13 When you return, bring with you the supplies that I left with Carpus at Troas, and the books, but especially the parchments. 14 2Tim 4, 14 Alexander the coppersmith has shown me much evil; the Lord will repay him according to his works. 15 2Tim 4, 15 And you should also avoid him; for he has strongly resisted our words. 16 2Tim 4, 16 At my first defense, no one stood by me, but everyone abandoned me. May it not be counted against them! 17 2Tim 4, 17 But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that through me the preaching would be accomplished, and so that all the Gentiles would hear. And I was freed from the mouth of the lion. 18 2Tim 4, 18 The Lord has freed me from every evil work, and he will accomplish salvation by his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory forever and ever. Amen. 19 2Tim 4, 19 Greet Prisca, and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. 20 2Tim 4, 20 Erastus remained at Corinth. And Trophimus I left sick at Miletus. 21 2Tim 4, 21 Hurry to arrive before winter. Eubulus, and Pudens, and Linus, and Claudia, and all the brothers greet you. 22 2Tim 4, 22 May the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. May grace be with you. Amen.

Verš 1
I testify before God, and before Jesus Christ, who shall judge the living and the dead through his return and his kingdom:
Rim 1:9 - For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit by the Gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I have kept a remembrance of you
Rim 9:1 - I am speaking the truth in Christ; I am not lying. My conscience offers testimony to me in the Holy Spirit,
2Kor 1:23 - But I call God as a witness to my soul, that I was lenient with you, in that I did not return to Corinth:
2Kor 11:31 - The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed forever, knows that I am not lying.
Gal 1:20 - Now what I am writing to you: behold, before God, I am not lying.
Flp 1:8 - For God is my witness how, within the heart of Jesus Christ, I long for all of you.
1Sol 2:5 - And neither did we, at any time, become flattering in speech, as you know, nor did we seek an opportunity for avarice, as God is witness.
1Tim 5:21 - I testify before God and Christ Jesus and the elect Angels, that you should observe these things without prejudgment, doing nothing which shows favoritism to either side.
1Tim 6:13 - I charge you, in the sight of God, who enlivens all things, and in the sight of Christ Jesus, who gave the testimony of a good profession under Pontius Pilate,
Verš 6
For I am already being worn away, and the time of my dissolution presses close.
2Pt 1:14 - For it is certain that the laying to rest of this, my tabernacle, is approaching swiftly, just as our Lord Jesus Christ has also indicated to me.
Verš 8
As for the remainder, a crown of justice has been reserved for me, one which the Lord, the just judge, will render to me in that day, and not only to me, but also to those who look forward to his return. Hurry to return to me soon.
1Kor 9:25 - And one who competes in a contest abstains from all things. And they do this, of course, so that they may achieve a corruptible crown. But we do this, so that we may achieve what is incorruptible.
1Pt 5:4 - And when the Leader of pastors will have appeared, you shall secure an unfading crown of glory.
Verš 10
Crescens has gone to Galatia; Titus to Dalmatia.
Kol 4:14 - Luke, a most beloved physician, greets you, as does Demas.
Flm 1:24 - and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my helpers.
Verš 11
Luke alone is with me. Take Mark and bring him with you; for he is useful to me in the ministry.
Kol 4:14 - Luke, a most beloved physician, greets you, as does Demas.
Sk 15:37 - And Barnabas wanted to take John, who was surnamed Mark, with them also.
Kol 4:10 - Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets you, as does Mark, the near cousin of Barnabas, about whom you have received instructions, (if he comes to you, receive him)
Flm 1:24 - and Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, and Luke, my helpers.
Verš 12
But Tychicus I have sent to Ephesus.
Sk 20:4 - Now those accompanying him were Sopater, the son of Pyrrhus from Beroea; and also the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy; and also Tychicus and Trophimus from Asia.
Kol 4:7 - As for the things that concern me, Tychicus, a most beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord, will make everything known to you.
Verš 14
Alexander the coppersmith has shown me much evil; the Lord will repay him according to his works.
1Tim 1:20 - Among these are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan, so that they may learn not to blaspheme.
Verš 19
Greet Prisca, and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus.
Sk 18:2 - And upon finding a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently arrived from Italy with Priscilla his wife, (because Claudius had ordered all Jews to depart from Rome,) he met with them.
Rim 16:3 - Greet Prisca and Aquila, my helpers in Christ Jesus,
2Tim 4,1 - Živí sú tí, čo budú pri druhom Kristovom príchode na konci sveta ešte žiť. Porov. 1 Sol 4, 15; 1 Kor 15, 51–52.
2Tim 4,6 - Pavol tu svoju smrť opisuje dvoma obrazmi.
Kol 4, 14; Flm 24).
2Tim 4,11 - Lukáš a Marek sú evanjelisti. Porov. Kol 4, 10.14.
2Tim 4,12 - O Tychikovi pozri Sk 20, 4; Ef 6, 21; Kol 4, 7; Tít 3, 12.
2Tim 4,14 - Alexander – nie je isté, či ten, ktorého Apoštol vylúčil z Cirkvi (porov. 1 Tim 1, 20). Citát je zo Ž 28, 4.
2Tim 4,19-20 - O uvedených menách porov. Sk 18, 2; Rim 16, 3; Sk 19, 22; 20, 4; 21, 29.
2Tim 4,21 - Tu spomínaný Línus je podľa niektorých prvý Petrov nástupca na rímskom stolci.
