Verš 1
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
Sk 9:15 - But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
Kol 1:27 - To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Verš 2
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
Sk 16:1 - Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
1Sol 3:2 - And sent Timotheus, our brother, and minister of God, and our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ, to establish you, and to comfort you concerning your faith:
1Kor 4:17 - For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.
Gal 1:3 - Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
Verš 3
As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine,
Sk 20:1 - And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia.
Verš 4
Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.
1Tim 4:7 - But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1Tim 6:20 - O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
2Tim 2:16 - But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.
Tít 1:14 - Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth.
Tít 3:9 - But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
1Tim 6:4 - He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,
Verš 5
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Rim 13:8 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.
Gal 5:14 - For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Verš 8
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully;
Rim 7:12 - Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Verš 9
Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
Gal 5:23 - Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Verš 11
According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
1Tim 6:15 - Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;
1Sol 2:4 - But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
Verš 13
Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.
Sk 8:3 - As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
Sk 9:1 - And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,
Sk 22:4 - And I persecuted this way unto the death, binding and delivering into prisons both men and women.
Sk 26:9 - I verily thought with myself, that I ought to do many things contrary to the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
1Kor 15:9 - For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
Gal 1:13 - For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Jn 9:39 - And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
Jn 9:41 - Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
Sk 3:17 - And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.
Verš 15
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Mt 9:13 - But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Mk 2:17 - When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Lk 5:32 - I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Lk 19:10 - For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
1Jn 3:5 - And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Verš 18
This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;
1Tim 6:12 - Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Verš 19
Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck:
1Tim 3:9 - Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.
Verš 20
Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.
2Tim 2:17 - And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus;
2Tim 4:14 - Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:
1Tim 5:5 - Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
1 Kor 5, 5).
