1Sol 1, 1-10

1 (UKJV) Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1 (ROH) Pavel, Silván a Timoteus cirkvi Tesaloničanov v Bohu Otcovi a v Pánu Ježišu Kristovi: milosť vám a pokoj od Boha, nášho Otca, a od Pána Ježiša Krista!

2 (UKJV) "We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; "
2 (ROH) Ďakujeme vždycky Bohu vzhľadom na vás na všetkých zmieňujúc sa na svojich modlitbách o vás,

3 (UKJV) "Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, (o. agape) and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; "
3 (ROH) neprestajne pamätajúc na vaše dielo viery a na úsilnú prácu lásky a na trpezlivosť nádeje nášho Pána Ježiša Krista pred svojím Bohom a Otcom,

4 (UKJV) Knowing, brethren beloved, your election of God.
4 (ROH) vediac, bratia, milovaní od Boha, vaše vyvolenie.

5 (UKJV) "For our gospel came not unto you in word (o. logos) only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) and in much assurance; as all of you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. "
5 (ROH) Lebo naše evanjelium, ktoré sme vám zvestovali, nezáležalo iba v slove, ale aj v moci a v Svätom Duchu a v mnohej istote, jako viete, jakí sme boli medzi vami pre vás.

6 (UKJV) And all of you became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word (o. logos) in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit. (o. pneuma)
6 (ROH) A vy ste sa stali našimi nasledovníkmi a Pánovými prijmúc slovo v mnohom súžení s radosťou Svätého Ducha,

7 (UKJV) So that all of you were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.
7 (ROH) takže ste sa stali vzorom všetkým veriacim v Macedonii a v Achaji.

8 (UKJV) "For from you sounded out the word (o. logos) of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith toward God is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing. "
8 (ROH) Lebo od vás sa rozhlásilo slovo Pánovo nie len v Macedonii a v Achaji, ale aj na každom mieste sa rozniesla vaša viera v Boha, takže nám netreba nič hovoriť.

9 (UKJV) "For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how all of you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; "
9 (ROH) Lebo oni sami zvestujú o nás, aký bol náš príchod k vám, a jako ste sa obrátili od modiel k Bohu, aby ste slúžili Bohu, živému a pravdivému,

10 (UKJV) And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
10 (ROH) a očakávali jeho Syna z nebies, ktorého vzkriesil z mŕtvych, Ježiša, ktorý nás vychvacuje od prijdúceho hnevu.

Verš 1

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rim 1:7 - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Ef 1:2 - Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, (o. pneuma) unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

"We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers; "

Ef 1:16 - "Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; "

Flp 1:3 - I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Kol 1:3 - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

2Sol 1:3 - "We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith grows exceedingly, and the love (o. agape) of every one of you all toward each other abounds; "

Verš 3

"Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, (o. agape) and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father; "

Jn 6:29 - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that all of you believe on him whom he has sent.

Verš 5

"For our gospel came not unto you in word (o. logos) only, but also in power, and in the Holy Spirit, (o. pneuma) and in much assurance; as all of you know what manner of men we were among you for your sake. "

1Kor 2:4 - And my speech (o. logos) and my preaching was not with enticing words (o. logos) of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit (o. pneuma) and of power:

1Kor 4:20 - For the kingdom of God is not in word, (o. logos) but in power.

1Sol 2:1 - For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:

1Kor 4:16 - Wherefore I plead to you, be all of you followers of me.

1Kor 11:1 - Be all of you followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

Flp 3:17 - Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as all of you have us for an example.

2Sol 3:9 - Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us.

Verš 10

And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

Sk 1:11 - Which also said, All of you men of Galilee, why stand all of you gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as all of you have seen him go into heaven.

Flp 3:20 - "For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: "

2Sol 1:10 - When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Zjv 1:7 - "Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all families of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. "

1Sol 1,1 - Silván je poslovenčený rímsky tvar (Silvanus) aramejského mena Sílas. Spolu s Timotejom bol spolupracovníkom apoštola Pavla v misijnej práci v Macedónsku (porov. Sk 16–18).

1Sol 1,3 - Tri božské čnosti sú základom celého kresťanského života.

1Sol 1,10 - "Budúci hnev" – hnev trestajúceho Boha, ktorý sa prejaví voči hriešnikom v deň posledného súdu. Porov. Rim 2,8; 5,9. Podľa terminológie Starého zákona deň budúceho hnevu je dňom Božieho súdu.
