1 (UKJV) Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

1 (ROH) A tak moji milovaní bratia, po ktorých tak veľmi túžim, moja radosť a moja koruna, tak stojte v Pánovi, milovaní!
2 (UKJV) I plead to Euodias, and plead to Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.

2 (ROH) Evodiu napomínam i Syntychu napomínam, aby na jedno a na to isté myslely v Pánovi.
3 (UKJV) And I implore you also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.

3 (ROH) a prosím aj teba, pravý Syzygu , pomáhaj im, ktoré sa spolu so mnou borily v evanjeliu aj s Klementom a s ostatnými mojimi spolupracovníkmi, ktorých mená sú v knihe života.

4 (ROH) Radujte sa v Pánovi vždycky, a zase len poviem: Radujte sa!
5 (UKJV) Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

5 (ROH) Vaša prívetivosť nech je známa všetkým ľuďom. Pán blízko.
6 (UKJV) "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. "

6 (ROH) O nič sa nestarajte, ale vo všetkom modlitbou a prosbou s ďakovaním nech sa oznamujú vaše žiadosti Bohu.
7 (UKJV) And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

7 (ROH) A pokoj Boží, ktorý prevyšuje každý rozum, bude strážiť vaše srdcia a vaše mysle v Kristu Ježišovi.
8 (UKJV) "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. "

8 (ROH) A ostatne, bratia, všetko, čo je pravdivé, čo je počestné, čo je spravedlivé, čo je mravne čisté, čo je ľúbe, čo je dobropovestné, ak je nejaká ctnosť a jestli nejaká chvála, o tom premýšľajte,
9 (UKJV) Those things, which all of you have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

9 (ROH) čo ste sa aj naučili a čo ste prijali a počuli a videli na mne, to robte, a Bôh pokoja bude s vami.
10 (UKJV) "But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at the last your care of me has flourished again; wherein all of you were also careful, but all of you lacked opportunity. "

10 (ROH) A veľmi som sa zaradoval v Pánovi, že ste sa už raz rozzelenali starať sa o mňa, na čo ste pravda aj mysleli, ale ste nemali príhodného času.
11 (UKJV) Not that I speak in respect of lack: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

11 (ROH) Nehovorím toho preto, že by som mal nedostatok; lebo ja som sa naučil mať dosť na tom, čo mám.
12 (UKJV) I know both how to be brought low, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

12 (ROH) Viem byť aj ponížený a viem i mať hojnosť - v každej veci a vo všetkých veciach som vycvičený; viem aj sýtym byť aj lačnieť, mať hojnosť aj trpieť nedostatkom.
13 (UKJV) I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.

13 (ROH) Všetko vládzem v tom, ktorý ma posilňuje, v Kristovi.
14 (UKJV) Notwithstanding all of you have well done, that all of you did communicate with my affliction.

14 (ROH) Avšak dobre ste urobili, že ste sa zúčastnili na mojom súžení.
15 (UKJV) Now all of you Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning (o. logos) giving and receiving, but all of you only.

15 (ROH) A viete aj vy, Filipänia, že na počiatku evanjelia, keď som odišiel z Macedonie, niktorý sbor sa nezúčastnil na mojich potrebách, aby bol dal a prijal, len vy sami.
16 (UKJV) For even in Thessalonica all of you sent once and again unto my necessity.

16 (ROH) Lebo aj keď som bol v Tesalonike, i raz i dva razy ste mi poslali na to, čo som potreboval.
17 (UKJV) Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account. (o. logos)

17 (ROH) Nie preto, že by som hľadal daru, ale hľadám ovocie, hojne sa množiace na váš účet.
18 (UKJV) But I have all, and abound: I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God.

18 (ROH) Ale ta mám všetkého a mám hojnosť; mám všetkého plno prijmúc od Epafrodita, čo ste poslali, ľúbeznú vôňu upokojujúcu, obeť, príjemnú, ľúbu a vzácnu Bohu.
19 (UKJV) But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

19 (ROH) A môj Bôh naplní každú vašu potrebu podľa svojho bohatstva v sláve, v Kristu Ježišovi.
20 (UKJV) Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

20 (ROH) A Bohu a nášmu Otcovi nech je sláva na veky vekov. Ameň.
21 (UKJV) Salute every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren which are with me greet you.

21 (ROH) Pozdravte každého svätého v Kristu Ježišovi. Pozdravujú vás bratia, ktorí sú so mnou.
22 (UKJV) All the saints salute you, chiefly they that are of Caesar's household.

22 (ROH) Pozdravujú vás všetci svätí a najmä tí, ktorí sú z domu cisárovho.

Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
1Sol 2:19 - For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even all of you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?

And I implore you also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellow labourers, whose names are in the book of life.
Ex 32:32 - "Yet now, if you will forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray you, out of your book which you have written. "
Ž 69:28 - Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
Zjv 3:5 - "He that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. "
Zjv 20:12 - "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. "
Zjv 21:27 - And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Jn 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Rim 5:1 - Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

2Kor 11:9 - And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

Heb 13:16 - But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Flp 4,1 - "Moja koruna" – doslova "môj veniec" – symbol slávy a odmeny.
Flp 4,2 - Obe sú ženské mená. Nič bližšie o nich nevieme. Pavol ich vyzýval, aby žili vo svornosti, ako to naznačuje aj význam ich gréckych mien.
Flp 4,3 - "Spolupracovník" (gr. sýzygos), čo niektorí považujú za vlastné meno Syzygos. – Klement – podľa niektorých ide o Klementa I., rímskeho pápeža. Výraz "kniha života" je častý biblický obraz (Ex 32, 32 n.; Ž 69, 29; Dan 12, 1; Zjv 3, 5) a znamená prijatie do Božej priazne, milosti.
Flp 4,5 - Pán je blízko, pretože isto príde.
Flp 4,11 - Pavol sa usiloval vyžiť z toho, čo mal. Materiálnu podporu prijal jedine od Filipanov, ktorých mal osobitne rád.
Flp 4,12 - "Naučil" – doslovne: stal som sa zasväteným, čo znamená: Naučil som sa to, čo všetci nepoznajú.
Flp 4,15 - Porov. Sk 17, 1–10. Pavol tu používa výrazy zo života obchodníkov, aby zdôraznil výmenu duchovných a hmotných dobier medzi ním a Filipanmi.
Flp 4,21 - "Svätí" sú kresťania zasvätení Bohu a Kristovi životom svätosti.
Flp 4,22 - Výraz "z cisárovho domu" tu môže znamenať aj zamestnancov v dome miestodržiteľa, ktorý bol v každom väčšom meste, pravda, ak list Pavol napísal v Efeze.
