Flp 1, 1-30

1 (KJV) Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
1 (B21) Pavel a Timoteus, služebníci Krista Ježíše, všem svatým v Kristu Ježíši, kteří jsou ve Filipech, se správci a služebníky:

2 (KJV) Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 (B21) Milost vám a pokoj od Boha, našeho Otce, a od Pána Ježíše Krista.

3 (KJV) I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
3 (B21) Kdykoli si na vás vzpomenu, musím děkovat svému Bohu.

4 (KJV) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
4 (B21) Stále se za vás všechny modlím a při každé své modlitbě se raduji

5 (KJV) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
5 (B21) z toho, jak se od prvního dne až doposud podílíte na evangeliu.

6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
6 (B21) Jsem si jist, že Ten, který ve vás začal dobré dílo, je dovede až do konce v den Krista Ježíše.

7 (KJV) Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
7 (B21) Právem takto smýšlím o vás všech, protože mě nosíte v srdci; vy všichni máte se mnou podíl na Boží milosti, jak v mém vězení, tak v obhajobě a potvrzování evangelia.

8 (KJV) For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
8 (B21) Bůh je mi svědkem, jak po vás všech toužím; cítím k vám lásku Krista Ježíše!

9 (KJV) And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
9 (B21) Modlím se, aby i vaše láska stále víc a více rostla spolu s poznáním a hlubokou vnímavostí,

10 (KJV) That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
10 (B21) abyste uměli rozeznat, co je správné, abyste byli ryzí a bezúhonní až do Kristova dne

11 (KJV) Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
11 (B21) a dali se od Ježíše Krista naplnit ovocem spravedlnosti ke slávě a chvále Boží.

12 (KJV) But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
12 (B21) Chtěl bych, bratři, abyste věděli, že to, co mě potkalo, přispělo spíše k prospěchu evangelia.

13 (KJV) So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
13 (B21) Celý palác i všichni ostatní tu vědí, že jsem vězněn pro Krista.

14 (KJV) And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
14 (B21) Mé okovy dodaly mnoha sourozencům v Pánu jistotu, takže teď káží Slovo mnohem směleji a beze strachu.

15 (KJV) Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
15 (B21) Někteří sice kážou Krista ze závisti a soupeřivosti, jiní však s dobrým úmyslem.

16 (KJV) The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
16 (B21) Jedni hlásají Krista ze ctižádosti, neupřímně, v domnění, že mi k mým okovům přidají soužení;

17 (KJV) But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
17 (B21) druzí však z lásky a s vědomím, že jsem tu proto, abych obhajoval evangelium.

18 (KJV) What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
18 (B21) Ale co na tom! Hlavně že se jakýmkoli způsobem, ať už naoko nebo opravdově, káže Kristus. Raduji se tedy a budu se radovat i nadále, neboť

19 (KJV) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
19 (B21) vím, že díky vaší modlitbě a pomoci Ducha Ježíše Krista to vše povede k mé záchraně.

20 (KJV) According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
20 (B21) Už se nemohu dočkat! Mám totiž naději, že v ničem nebudu zahanben, ale že nyní, tak jako vždy, bude na mém těle veřejně oslaven Kristus, ať už skrze život anebo smrt.

21 (KJV) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
21 (B21) Žít - to je pro mě Kristus, a umřít - to je zisk!

22 (KJV) But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
22 (B21) Zůstanu-li naživu v tomto těle, znamená to pro mě plodnou práci. Proto nevím, čemu dát přednost,

23 (KJV) For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
23 (B21) neboť mě přitahuje obojí. Mám touhu odejít a být s Kristem, což je zdaleka nejlepší;

24 (KJV) Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
24 (B21) zůstat v tomto těle je ale potřebnější kvůli vám.

25 (KJV) And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
25 (B21) Proto vím jistě, že tu ještě pobudu. Kvůli vašemu prospěchu a radosti ve víře tu s vámi všemi zůstanu,

26 (KJV) That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
26 (B21) aby vaše chlouba v Kristu Ježíši díky mně ještě vzrostla, až se k vám vrátím.

27 (KJV) Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
27 (B21) Jen prosím, abyste svým jednáním dělali čest Kristovu evangeliu. Když k vám přijdu, rád bych viděl (a když nepřijdu, alespoň o vás slyšel), že pevně stojíte v jednom duchu a že společně jako jedna duše vedete zápas o víru evangelia.

28 (KJV) And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
28 (B21) Nedejte se nijak vystrašit svými protivníky; to jim bude jasným znamením záhuby, ale vám záchrany, a to od Boha.

29 (KJV) For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
29 (B21) Bylo vám totiž dopřáno, abyste v Krista nejen věřili, ale také pro něho trpěli.

30 (KJV) Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
30 (B21) Svádíte stejný boj, jaký jste viděli u mě, a jak slyšíte, vedu jej i nadále.

Verš 2

Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Rim 1:7 - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Verš 3

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,

Ef 1:15 - Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,

Kol 1:3 - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

1Sol 1:2 - We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;

2Sol 1:3 - We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Jn 6:29 - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

1Sol 1:3 - Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Verš 7

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.

Ef 3:1 - For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,

Ef 4:1 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Kol 4:3 - Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:

Kol 4:18 - The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

2Tim 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

Verš 8

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

Rim 1:9 - For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;

Rim 9:1 - I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,

2Kor 1:23 - Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.

2Kor 11:31 - The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

Gal 1:20 - Now the things which I write unto you, behold, before God, I lie not.

1Sol 2:5 - For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:

1Tim 5:21 - I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality.

2Tim 4:1 - I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

Verš 14

And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.

Ef 3:13 - Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

1Sol 3:3 - That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

Verš 19

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,

2Kor 1:11 - Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.

Verš 20

According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.

Rim 5:5 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Verš 27

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

Gn 17:1 - And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

1Kor 7:20 - Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.

Ef 4:1 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Kol 1:10 - That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

1Sol 2:12 - That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

1Sol 4:1 - Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
