1 (KJV) Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons:
1 (HEM) פולוס וטימותיוס עבדי המשיח ישוע אל כל הקדשים במשיח ישוע אשר הם בפילפי עם הפקידים והשמשים׃
1 (KAT) Pavol a Timotej, služobníci Krista Ježiša, všetkým svätým v Kristovi Ježišovi, čo sú vo Filipách, aj biskupom a diakonom:
2 (KJV) Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 (HEM) חסד לכם ושלום מאת האלהים אבינו ואדנינו ישוע המשיח׃
2 (KAT) Milosť vám a pokoj od Boha, nášho Otca, i od Pána Ježiša Krista.
3 (KJV) I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
3 (HEM) אודה לאלהי מדי זכרי אתכם׃
3 (KAT) Vzdávam vďaky svojmu Bohu zakaždým, keď si na vás spomeniem;
4 (KJV) Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
4 (HEM) ותמיד בכל תפלותי אתחנן בשמחה בעד כלכם׃
4 (KAT) vždy, v každej svojej modlitbe, keď s radosťou prosím za vás všetkých,
5 (KJV) For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
5 (HEM) על התחברותכם אל הבשורה למן היום הראשון ועד הנה׃
5 (KAT) za vašu účasť na evanjeliu od prvého dňa až doteraz.
6 (KJV) Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
6 (HEM) ובטח אני כי המתחיל בכם המעשה הטוב גם יגמרנו עד יום ישוע המשיח׃
6 (KAT) A som si istý, že ten, čo začal vo vás dobré dielo, aj ho dokončí až do dňa Krista Ježiša.
7 (KJV) Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
7 (HEM) כאשר ראוי לי לחשב ככה על כלכם בעבור שאתי אתכם בלבבי במוסרי ובהצדיקי ובחזקי את הבשורה באשר כלכם חברי בחסד׃
7 (KAT) A právom si to myslím o vás všetkých, veď vás v srdci nosím, lebo vy všetci máte účasť na mojej milosti tak v mojich okovách, ako aj pri obrane a utvrdzovaní evanjelia.
8 (KJV) For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
8 (HEM) כי האלהים לי לעד אשר לכלכם נכספתי באהבת ישוע המשיח׃
8 (KAT) Boh mi je svedok, ako po vás všetkých túžim srdcom Krista Ježiša.
9 (KJV) And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
9 (HEM) ועל זאת מתפלל אנכי כי תרבה ותגדל אהבתכם בהשכל ובכל דעת׃
9 (KAT) A modlím sa za to, aby vaša láska čoraz viac rástla v pravom poznaní a vo všestrannom chápaní,
10 (KJV) That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
10 (HEM) למען תבחנו את המבחרות והייתם זכים ובלי מכשול עד יום המשיח׃
10 (KAT) aby ste vedeli rozoznať, čo je lepšie, a aby ste boli čistí a bez hany pre Kristov deň,
11 (KJV) Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.
11 (HEM) מלאים פרי הצדקה על ידי ישוע המשיח לכבוד אלהים ותהלתו׃
11 (KAT) plní ovocia spravodlivosti, ktoré je skrze Ježiša Krista na Božiu slávu a chválu.
12 (KJV) But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel;
12 (HEM) והנני מודיע אתכם אחי כי אשר מצאתני היתה אך ליתרון הבשורה׃
12 (KAT) Bratia, chcem, aby ste vedeli, že to, čo sa deje okolo mňa, obrátilo sa skôr na osoh evanjeliu:
13 (KJV) So that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, and in all other places;
13 (HEM) עד אשר נגלו מוסרותי במשיח בכל שער המלך ולכל הנשארים׃
13 (KAT) moje okovy sa stali známymi v Kristovi v celom pretóriu a medzi všetkými ostatnými
14 (KJV) And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
14 (HEM) ורב האחים באדנינו הוסיפו אמץ במוסרותי והתחזקו יותר בלבבם לדבר את הדבר בלי פחד׃
14 (KAT) a mnohí z bratov v Pánovi, posmelení mojimi okovami, oveľa odvážnejšie, bez strachu hlásajú slovo.
15 (KJV) Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will:
15 (HEM) הן יש מגידים את המשיח מקנאה וריב ויש מגידים בכונה טובה׃
15 (KAT) Pravda, niektorí hlásajú Krista aj zo závisti a nevraživosti, no niektorí aj z oddanosti;
16 (KJV) The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds:
16 (HEM) אלה ממריבה מגידים את המשיח לא בלב טהור כי חשבים להוסיף צרה על מוסרי׃
16 (KAT) títo z lásky, lebo vedia, že som tu na obranu evanjelia,
17 (KJV) But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.
17 (HEM) ואלה מאהבה באשר הם ידעים כי נתון אנכי להצדיק את הבשורה׃
17 (KAT) tamtí zasa ohlasujú Krista z nevraživosti, nie úprimne, a myslia si, že spôsobia súženie mojim okovám.
18 (KJV) What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.
18 (HEM) אך מה בכך הלא בכל אופן אם בעלילה או באמת יגד המשיח ואני הנני שמח בזאת וגם אשמח׃
18 (KAT) Čo na tom?! Len nech sa akýmkoľvek spôsobom, či už pod dajakou zámienkou, alebo úprimne zvestuje Kristus. A ja sa tomu teším a budem sa tešiť,
19 (KJV) For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
19 (HEM) כי יודע אני שתהיה לי זאת לישועה בתפלתכם ובעזרת רוח ישוע המשיח׃
19 (KAT) lebo viem, že mi to bude slúžiť na spásu pre vašu modlitbu a pomoc Ducha Ježiša Krista.
20 (KJV) According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
20 (HEM) ואוחיל ואקוה שלא אבוש בכל דבר כי אם בכל בטחון כאשר מאז כן גם עתה יתגדל המשיח בגופי אם בחיי אם במותי׃
20 (KAT) Ako túžobne očakávam a dúfam, že nebudem v ničom zahanbený, pevne dúfam, že ako vždy, tak aj teraz, bude oslávený Kristus v mojom tele, či už životom alebo smrťou.
21 (KJV) For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
21 (HEM) כי המשיח הוא חיי והמות רוח לי׃
21 (KAT) Veď pre mňa žiť je Kristus a zomrieť zisk.
22 (KJV) But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.
22 (HEM) אולם אם לחיות בבשר עוד יוסיף לי פרי עמלי אין לי להגיד במה אבחר׃
22 (KAT) Ale ak žiť v tele znamená pre mňa plodnú prácu, neviem, čo si vyvoliť.
23 (KJV) For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
23 (HEM) כי משוך אני מן השנים נפשי אותה להפטר ולהיות עם המשיח כי זה המבחר׃
23 (KAT) Oboje na mňa dolieha: túžim zomrieť a byť s Kristom, a to by bolo oveľa lepšie,
24 (KJV) Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
24 (HEM) אבל לעמד עוד בבשר צריך יתר בעבורכם׃
24 (KAT) ale zostať v tele je zasa potrebnejšie pre vás.
25 (KJV) And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;
25 (HEM) ואני בטח וידע כי אותר ואעמד עם כלכם יחד לאמץ אתכם ולהגדיל שמחת אמונתכם׃
25 (KAT) A s istotou viem, že zostanem a budem s vami všetkými na váš osoh a radosť z viery,
26 (KJV) That your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.
26 (HEM) למען תרבה על ידי תהלתכם במשיח ישוע בשובי לבוא אליכם׃
26 (KAT) aby ste sa mnou mohli ešte viac chváliť v Ježišovi Kristovi, keď zasa k vám prídem.
27 (KJV) Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
27 (HEM) רק חתנהגו כראוי לבשורת המשיח למען אשמע עליכם אם בבואי לראותכם אם בהיותי רחוק כי קימים אתם ברוח אחת ועזרים אתי בנפש אחת להלחם בעד אמונת הבשורה׃
27 (KAT) Len žite tak, aby to zodpovedalo Kristovmu evanjeliu, aby som - či už prídem a uvidím vás, alebo budem vzdialený - počul o vás, že pevne stojíte v jednom Duchu a svorne bojujete za vieru evanjelia
28 (KJV) And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.
28 (HEM) ואינכם חרדים מאומה מפני המתקוממים אשר זאת להם אות לאבדם ולכם לישועתכם ומאת האלהים היא׃
28 (KAT) a v ničom sa nedáte zastrašiť protivníkmi, čo je pre nich znamením zatratenia, ale pre vás spásy, a to od Boha.
29 (KJV) For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
29 (HEM) כי נתן לכם בעד המשיח לא לבד להאמין בו כי אם גם להתענות בעדו׃
29 (KAT) Veď vy ste dostali milosť nielen v Krista veriť, ale aj trpieť pre neho
30 (KJV) Having the same conflict which ye saw in me, and now hear to be in me.
30 (HEM) כי גם לכם המלחמה אשר ראיתם בי ואשר עתה שמעים אתם עלי׃
30 (KAT) tým, že vediete ten istý zápas, ktorý ste videli na mne a teraz o mne počúvate.

Verš 2
Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Rim 1:7 - To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
1Pt 1:2 - Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
Ef 1:15 - Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Kol 1:3 - We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
1Sol 1:2 - We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers;
2Sol 1:3 - We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Jn 6:29 - Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
1Sol 1:3 - Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
Ef 3:1 - For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
Ef 4:1 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Kol 4:3 - Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Kol 4:18 - The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.
2Tim 1:8 - Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
Rim 1:9 - For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers;
Rim 9:1 - I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,
2Kor 1:23 - Moreover I call God for a record upon my soul, that to spare you I came not as yet unto Corinth.
2Kor 11:31 - The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

1Sol 3:3 - That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto.

For I know that this shall turn to my salvation through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
2Kor 1:11 - Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf.
Verš 20
According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death.
Rim 5:5 - And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Gn 17:1 - And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
1Kor 7:20 - Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
Ef 4:1 - I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Kol 1:10 - That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
1Sol 2:12 - That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
1Sol 4:1 - Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.
Flp 1,1 - Timotej je Pavlov žiak a spolupracovník, adresát dvoch listov. Výraz "biskupi" (epískopoi) v tom čase označoval predstavených miestnej cirkvi. Z toho vidieť, že vo Filipách už bola cirkevná hierarchia (porov. Sk 20, 28; 6, 6).
Flp 1,5 - Kresťanské spoločenstvo vo Filipách prirástlo Pavlovi k srdcu. Prijal od nich aj materiálnu pomoc. Celý list dýcha vrúcnym osobným vzťahom. "Od prvého dňa", čo sa stali kresťanmi.
Flp 1,6 - Deň Krista Ježiša je deň jeho slávneho príchodu na konci vekov, ktorý dáva kresťanskému životu tón radostného očakávania.
Flp 1,13 - "Pretórium" je miesto, kde sa zdržiavali prétoriáni, cisárova osobná stráž. Ak Pavol písal z Efezu, potom ide o úradníkov miestodržiteľovej rezidencie.
Flp 1,23 - Pavol tu myslí na smrť a definitívne spojenie s Kristom.
Flp 1,27 - "Žite" – doslovne "správajte sa ako občania". Kresťan je občan nebeského kráľovstva (Ef 2, 19), ktorého Pánom je Ježiš Kristus, Spasiteľ (Flp 3, 20) a jeho ústavou je evanjelium.
Flp 1,30 - Porov. Sk 16, 19–24.
