1 (CPDV) “So then, if you will listen to the voice of the Lord your God, so as to keep and do all of his commandments, which I instruct to you this day, the Lord your God will cause you to be more exalted than all the nations which exist upon the earth.
1 (ROH) A stane sa, ak budeš naozaj počúvať na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, aby si ostríhal a činil všetky jeho prikázania, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, že ťa vyvýši Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, nad všetky národy zeme.

2 (CPDV) And all these blessings shall come to you and take hold of you, but only if you listen to his precepts.
2 (ROH) A prijdú na teba všetky tieto požehnania a dostihnú ťa, keď budeš počúvať na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.

3 (CPDV) Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed in the field.
3 (ROH) Požehnaný budeš v meste, a požehnaný budeš na poli.

4 (CPDV) Blessed shall be the fruit of your loins, and the fruit of your land, and the fruit of your cattle, the droves of your herds, and the folds of your sheep.
4 (ROH) Požehnaný bude plod tvojho života, plod tvojej zeme i plod tvojho hoväda, mladé tvojho rožného statku i matky tvojho drobného stáda.

5 (CPDV) Blessed shall be your barns, and blessed your storehouses.
5 (ROH) Požehnaný bude tvoj koš tvoje koryto na cesto.

6 (CPDV) Blessed shall you be entering and departing.
6 (ROH) Požehnaný budeš, keď budeš vchádzať a požehnaný budeš, keď budeš vychádzať.

7 (CPDV) The Lord will grant that your enemies, who rise up against you, will fall down in your sight. They will come against you by one way, and they will flee from your face by seven ways.
7 (ROH) Hospodin to dá, že tvoji nepriatelia, ktorí by povstali proti tebe, budú porazení pred tebou; jednou cestou vyjdú proti tebe a siedmimi cestami budú utekať pred tebou.

8 (CPDV) The Lord will send forth a blessing upon your cellars, and upon all the works of your hands. And he will bless you in the land that you shall receive.
8 (ROH) Hospodin prikáže svojmu požehnaniu, aby bolo s tebou v tvojich zásobárňach a vo všetkom, po čom siahne tvoja ruka. A požehná ťa v zemi, ktorú ti dá Hospodin, tvoj Bôh.

9 (CPDV) The Lord will raise you up as a holy people for himself, just as he swore to you, if you will keep the commandments of the Lord your God, and walk in his ways.
9 (ROH) Hospodin si ťa postaví za svätý ľud, ako ti prisahal, keď budeš ostríhať prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, a budeš chodiť po jeho cestách.

10 (CPDV) And all the peoples of the earth shall see that the name of the Lord has been invoked over you, and they shall fear you.
10 (ROH) A uvidia všetky národy zeme, že meno Hospodinovo je vzývané nad tebou, a budú sa ťa báť.

11 (CPDV) The Lord will cause you be abundant in every good thing: in the fruit of your womb, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your land, which the Lord swore to your fathers that he would give to you.
11 (ROH) A Hospodin učiní, že budeš mať hojnosť dobrého, plodu svojho života, plodu svojich hoviad a plodu svojej pôdy, na pôde, o ktorej prisahal Hospodin tvojim otcom, že ti ju dá.

12 (CPDV) The Lord will open his excellent treasury, the heavens, so that it may distribute rain in due time. And he will bless all the works of your hands. And you shall lend to many nations, but you yourself will borrow nothing from anyone.
12 (ROH) Hospodin ti otvorí svoj výborný poklad, nebesia, dávajúc tvojej zemi dážď svojím časom a žehnajúc každému dielu tvojich rúk, takže budeš požičiavať mnohým národom, a ty si nebudeš požičiavať od nikoho.

13 (CPDV) And the Lord will appoint you as the head, and not as the tail. And you shall be always above, and not beneath. But only if you will listen to the commandments of the Lord your God, which I entrust to you this day, and will keep and do them,
13 (ROH) A Hospodin ťa dá za hlavu, a nie za chvost, a vše budeš iba povýšený hore a nebudeš ponížený dolu, keď budeš počúvať na prikázania Hospodina, svojho Boha, ktoré ti ja prikazujem dnes, aby si ich ostríhal a činil.

14 (CPDV) and will not turn aside from them, neither to the right, nor to the left, nor follow strange gods, nor worship them.
14 (ROH) A neodchýliš sa od niktorých slov, ktoré vám ja prikazujem dnes, ani napravo ani naľavo odíduc za inými bohy, aby si im slúžil.

15 (CPDV) But if you are not willing to listen to the voice of the Lord your God, so as to keep and do all his commandments and ceremonies, which I instruct to you this day, all these curses shall come to you, and take hold of you.

16 (CPDV) Cursed shall you be in the city, cursed in the field.
16 (ROH) Zlorečený budeš v meste a zlorečený budeš na poli.

17 (CPDV) Cursed shall be your barn, 111 and cursed your storehouses.
17 (ROH) Zlorečený bude tvoj koš i tvoje koryto na cesto.

18 (CPDV) Cursed shall be the fruit of your loins, and the fruit of your land, the herds of your oxen, and the flocks of your sheep.
18 (ROH) Zlorečený bude plod tvojho života i plod tvojej pôdy, mladé tvojho rožného statku i matky tvojho drobného stáda.

19 (CPDV) Cursed shall you be entering, and cursed departing.
19 (ROH) Zlorečený budeš, keď budeš vchádzať a zlorečený budeš, keď budeš vychádzať.

20 (CPDV) The Lord will send famine and hunger upon you, and a rebuke upon all the works that you do, until he quickly crushes and perishes you, because of your very wicked innovations, by which you have forsaken me.
20 (ROH) Hospodin pošle na teba zlorečenstvo, desivú bezradnosť a kliatbu na všetko, po čom siahne tvoja ruka, čokoľvek budeš robiť, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený a dokiaľ skoro nezahynieš pre svoje zlé skutky, pretože si ma opustil.

21 (CPDV) May the Lord join a pestilence to you, until he consumes you from the land, which you shall enter so as to possess.
21 (ROH) Hospodin učiní to, aby sa ťa pridŕžal mor, dokiaľ ťa nevyplieni zo zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva.

22 (CPDV) May the Lord strike you with destitution, with fever and cold, with burning and heat, and with polluted air and rot, and may he pursue you until you perish.
22 (ROH) Hospodin ťa bude biť suchotinami, zimnicou a horúčkou, veľkou horúčavou a mečom, suchom a rudou, a budú ťa prenasledovať, dokiaľ nezahynieš.

23 (CPDV) May the heavens which are above you be of brass, and may the ground upon which you tread be of iron.
23 (ROH) Tvoje nebesia, ktoré sú nad tvojou hlavou, budú meďou, a zem, ktorá je pod tebou, bude železom.

24 (CPDV) May the Lord give you dust instead of rain upon your land, and may ashes descend from heaven over you, until you have been wiped away.

25 (CPDV) May the Lord hand you over to fall before your enemies. May you go forth against them by one way, and flee by seven ways, and may you be scattered across all the kingdoms of the earth.
25 (ROH) Hospodin dá to, aby si bol porazený pred svojimi nepriateľmi. Jednou cestou vyjdeš proti nemu, a siedmimi cestami budeš utekať pred ním, a budeš sa ponevierať po všetkých kráľovstvách zeme na postrach a na postrk.

26 (CPDV) And may your carcass be food for all the flying things of the air and the wild beasts of the land, and may there be no one to drive them away.
26 (ROH) A tvoja mŕtvola bude za pokrm všetkým vtákom nebies i šelmám zeme, a nebude toho, kto by zaplašil.

27 (CPDV) May the Lord strike you with the ulcer of Egypt, and may he strike the part of your body, through which the dung goes out, with disease as well as itch, so much so that you are unable to be cured.
27 (ROH) A Hospodin ťa bude biť egyptským vredom a bolestnými opuchlinami na zadnom tele, chrastami a svrabom, takže sa nebudeš môcť vyhojiť.

28 (CPDV) May the Lord strike you with frenzy and blindness and a madness of the mind.
28 (ROH) A Hospodin ťa bude biť šialenstvom, slepotou a chvením srdca.

29 (CPDV) And may you grope at midday, just as a blind man is accustomed to grope in darkness, and may your paths not be straight. And at all times may you suffer slander and be oppressed with violence, and may you have no one who may free you.
29 (ROH) Budeš hmatať o poludní, jako hmatá slepý v hustej tme, a nebudeš mať zdaru na svojich cestách, ale budeš vždy len utískaný a olupovaný po všetky dni, a nebude toho, kto by zachránil.

30 (CPDV) May you take a wife, though another sleeps with her. May you build a house, but not live within it. May you plant a vineyard, and not gather its vintage.
30 (ROH) Ženu si zasnúbiš, ale iný bude s ňou ležať; vystavíš dom, ale nebudeš bývať v ňom; vysadíš vinicu, ale jej nebudeš ako obecné sebe oberať.

31 (CPDV) May your ox be immolated before you, though you do not eat from it. May your donkey be seized in your sight, and not restored to you. May your sheep be given to your enemies, and may there be no one who may help you.
31 (ROH) Tvojho vola zabijú pred tvojimi očima, ale nebudeš jesť z neho; tvojho osla ulúpia zpred teba, a nevráti sa viacej k tebe; tvoje drobné stádo bude dané tvojim nepriateľom, a nebudeš mať toho, kto by ťa zachránil.

32 (CPDV) May your sons and your daughters be handed over to another people, as your eyes watch and languish at the sight of them throughout the day, and may there be no strength in your hand.
32 (ROH) Tvoji synovia a tvoje dcéry budú vydaní inému národu, kým tvoje oči budú hľadieť na to a budú hynúť pre nich deň ako deň, a tvoja ruka nebude mať sily.

33 (CPDV) May a people you do not know eat the fruits of your land and of all your labors. And may you continually suffer from slander and oppression every day.

34 (CPDV) And may you be stupefied at the terror of the things your eyes will see.

35 (CPDV) May the Lord strike you with a very grievous ulcer in the knees and in the legs, and may you be unable to attain health, from the sole of the foot to the top of the head.
35 (ROH) Hospodin ťa bude biť najhorším vredom na kolenách i na lýtkach, takže sa nebudeš môcť vyhojiť, od spodku tvojej nohy až do vrchu tvojej hlavy.

36 (CPDV) May the Lord lead you and your king, whom you will have appointed over yourself, into a nation which you and your fathers have not known. And there you will serve foreign gods, of wood and of stone.
36 (ROH) Hospodin zavedie i teba i tvojho kráľa, ktorého ustanovíš nad sebou, k národu, ktorého si neznal ani ty ani tvoji otcovia, a tam budeš slúžiť iným bohom, drevu a kameňu.

37 (CPDV) And you will become nothing but a proverb and a fable to all the peoples to whom the Lord will lead you.
37 (ROH) A budeš na úžas, na príslovie a na rezavý posmech u všetkých národov, kam ťa zavedie Hospodin.

38 (CPDV) You will sow much seed upon the ground, but you will harvest little. For the locusts will devour everything.
38 (ROH) Vynesieš mnoho semena na pole a spraceš málo, lebo to obožerú kobylky.

39 (CPDV) You will dig and plant a vineyard, but you will not drink the wine, nor gather anything at all from it. For it will be devastated by worms.
39 (ROH) Vysadíš vinicu a budeš obrábať, ale vína piť nebudeš ani nebudeš snášať, lebo to požerie červ.

40 (CPDV) You will have olive trees in all your borders, but you will not be anointed with the oil. For the olives will fall off and perish.
40 (ROH) Budeš mať aj olivy vo všetkých svojich krajoch, ale olejom sa mazať nebudeš, lebo tvoja oliva opŕchne.

41 (CPDV) You will conceive sons and daughters, and you will not enjoy them. For they will be led into captivity.
41 (ROH) Naplodíš synov a dcér, ale nebudú tvoji, pretože pojdú do zajatia.

42 (CPDV) Rot will consume all the trees, as well as the fruits of your land.
42 (ROH) Všetky tvoje stromy jako i plod tvojej pôdy zaujme v dedičstvo chrobač.

43 (CPDV) The new arrival who lives with you in the land will ascend over you, and be higher. But you will descend, and be lower.
43 (ROH) Pohostín, ktorý bude v tvojom strede, bude vystupovať nad teba vždy vyššie a vyššie, a ty budeš sostupovať nižšie a nižšie.

44 (CPDV) He will lend to you, and you will not lend to him. He will be as the head, and you will be as the tail.
44 (ROH) On ti bude požičiavať, a ty mu nebudeš požičiavať. On bude hlavou, a ty budeš chvostom.

45 (CPDV) And all these curses shall come to you, and shall pursue you, and shall take hold of you, until you pass away, because you would not listen to the voice of the Lord your God, and you would not serve his commandments and ceremonies, which he has instructed to you.
45 (ROH) A prijdú na teba všetky tieto kliatby a budú ťa prenasledovať a stíhať ťa, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený, pretože si nepočúval na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha, tak aby si bol ostríhal jeho prikázania a jeho ustanovenia, ktoré ti prikázal;

46 (CPDV) And there will be the signs and portents with you, and with your offspring, forever.
46 (ROH) budú na tebe na znamenie a na zázrak i na tvojom semene až na veky,

47 (CPDV) Because you did not serve the Lord your God, with gladness and a joyful heart, over the abundance of all things.
47 (ROH) preto, že si neslúžil Hospodinovi, svojmu Bohu, s radosťou a ochotou srdca majúc všetkého množstvo.

48 (CPDV) You will serve your enemy, whom the Lord will send to you, in hunger and thirst and nakedness, and in destitution of all things. And he will place an iron yoke upon your neck, until he has crushed you.
48 (ROH) A preto budeš slúžiť svojim nepriateľom, tomu, ktorého pošle na teba Hospodin, o hlade a smäde, v nahote a v nedostatku všetkého potrebného a vzloží železné jarmo na tvoju šiju, a to tak, dokiaľ ťa nezahladí.

49 (CPDV) The Lord will lead over you a nation from far away, even from the furthest parts of the earth, like an eagle flying with great force, whose language you are not able to understand:
49 (ROH) Hospodin dovedie na teba národ z ďaleka, od konca zeme, ktorý poletí, jako letí orol, národ, ktorého jazyku nebudeš rozumieť.

50 (CPDV) a very insolent nation, which will show no deference to elders, nor take pity on little ones.
50 (ROH) Bude to nestudatý národ, tvrdý, ktorý nebude hľadieť na starca ani sa nezľutuje nad dieťaťom.

51 (CPDV) And he will devour the fruit of your cattle, and the fruits of your land, until you have passed away, without leaving behind you wheat, or wine, or oil, or herds of oxen, or flocks of sheep: until he utterly destroys you.
51 (ROH) A požerie plod tvojho dobytka i plod tvojej pôdy, a bude žrať, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený, ktorý ti nezanechá obilia ani šťavy z hrozna ani oleja, mláďatá tvojho rožného statku ani matiek tvojich stád oviec a kôz, dokiaľ len ťa nevyhubí.

52 (CPDV) And he will crush you in all your cities. And your strong and lofty walls, in which you trusted, will be destroyed throughout all your land. You will be besieged within your gates throughout all your land, which the Lord your God will give to you.
52 (ROH) Sovrie ťa vo všetkých tvojich bránach a bude ťa svierať, dokiaľ nepadnú tvoje vysoké múry hradné, na ktoré sa ty nadeješ, po celej tvojej zemi. A sovrie ťa vo všetkých tvojich bránach po celej tvojej zemi, ktorú dal Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, tebe.

53 (CPDV) And you will eat the fruit of your womb, and the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the Lord your God will give to you, due to the anguish and devastation with which your enemy will oppress you.
53 (ROH) A budeš jesť plod svojho vlastného života, telo svojich synov a svojich dcér, ktoré ti dal Hospodin, tvoj Bôh, v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ.

54 (CPDV) The man who is pampered and very self-indulgent among you will vie with his own brother, and with the wife who lies at his bosom,
54 (ROH) Rozmaznaný človek medzi vami a vychovaný vo veľkej rozkoši bude závidieť svojmu bratovi i žene svojho lona i ostatku svojich synov, ktorých mu ešte ponechá nepriateľ,

55 (CPDV) lest he give to them from the flesh of his sons, which he will eat. For he has nothing else due to the siege and the destitution, with which your enemies will devastate you within all your gates.
55 (ROH) takže neudelí niktorému z nich tela svojich synov, ktoré bude jesť, pretože mu nepozostane ničoho v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ vo všetkých tvojich bránach.

56 (CPDV) The tender and pampered woman, who would not walk upon the soil, nor step firmly with her foot due to her very great softness and tenderness, will vie with her husband, who lies at her bosom, over the flesh of son and of daughter,
56 (ROH) Rozmaznaná medzi vami a vychovaná v rozkoši, ktorá z rozkoše a z maznavej chúlostivosti nepokúsila sa ani len svoju nohu postaviť na zem, bude závidieť mužovi svojho lona i svojmu synovi a svojej dcére,

57 (CPDV) and over the filth of the afterbirth, which goes forth from between her thighs, and over the children who are born in the same hour. For they will eat them secretly, due to the scarcity of all things during the siege and the devastation, with which your enemy will oppress you within your gates.
57 (ROH) a to i svojej postieľky, ktorá vyjde z nej po pôrode, i svojich synov, ktorých porodí, lebo ich bude tajne jesť v nedostatku všetkého potrebného v obležení a v úzkosti, ktorou ťa sovrie tvoj nepriateľ v tvojich bránach.

58 (CPDV) If you will not keep and do all the words of this law, which have been written in this volume, and fear his glorious and terrible name, that is, the Lord your God,
58 (ROH) Ak nebudeš ostríhať a činiť všetky slová tohoto zákona, ktoré sú napísané v tejto knihe, aby si sa bál toho preslávneho mena hrozného, Hospodina, svojho Boha,

59 (CPDV) then the Lord will increase your plagues, and the plagues of your offspring, plagues great and long-lasting, infirmities very grievous and continuous.
59 (ROH) vtedy ťa bude biť Hospodin podivnými ranami i tvoje semeno, veľkými ranami stálymi a zlými nemocami trvanlivými.

60 (CPDV) And he will turn back upon you all the afflictions of Egypt, which you fear, and these will cling to you.
60 (ROH) A obráti na teba všetky neduhy Egypta, ktorých sa bojíš a budú sa ťa držať.

61 (CPDV) In addition, the Lord will lead over you all the diseases and plagues that are not written in the volume of this law, until he crushes you.
61 (ROH) I všelijakú chorobu i všelijakú ranu, ktorá nie je napísaná v knihe tohoto zákona, uvedie Hospodin na teba, a to bude tak, dokiaľ nebudeš zahladený.

62 (CPDV) And you will remain few in number, though you were before like the stars of heaven in multitude, because you would not listen to the voice of the Lord your God.
62 (ROH) A zostane vás málo namiesto toho, že vás bolo jako nebeských hviezd čo do množstva, pretože si nepočúval na hlas Hospodina, svojho Boha.

63 (CPDV) And just as before, when the Lord rejoiced over you, doing good for you and multiplying you, so shall he rejoice, scattering and overturning you, so as to take you away from the land, which you shall enter in order to possess.
63 (ROH) A stane sa, že jako sa radoval Hospodin nad vami, keď vám činil dobré a rozmnožoval vás, tak sa bude radovať Hospodin nad vami, keď vás bude hubiť a plieniť, a budete zahnaní zo zeme, do ktorej ideš, aby si ju zaujal do dedičstva.

64 (CPDV) The Lord 112 will disperse you among all the peoples, from the heights of the earth to its furthest limits. And there you will serve foreign gods of wood and of stone, which you and your fathers did not know.
64 (ROH) Hospodin ťa rozptýli medzi všetky národy od jedného konca zeme až po druhý koniec zeme, a tam budeš slúžiť iným bohom, ktorých si neznal ani ty ani tvoji otcovia, drevu a kameňu.

65 (CPDV) Similarly, you will not have tranquility, even within those nations, nor will there be any rest for the steps of your feet. For the Lord will give to you in that place a fearful heart, and failing eyes, and a life consumed with grieving.
65 (ROH) A medzi tými národami nebudeš mať oddychu, ani tvoja noha nebude mať miesta, kde by si odpočinula. A tam ti dá Hospodin ľakavé srdce, umdlenosť očí a trúchlivé hynutie duše.

66 (CPDV) And your life will be as if it were hanging before you. You will be afraid night and day, and you will not have confidence in your own life.
66 (ROH) A tvoj život ti bude visieť na nitke pred tebou, a budeš sa strachovať vodne i vnoci. A nikde nebudeš istý svojho života.

67 (CPDV) In the morning you will say, ‘Who will grant evening to me?’ and at evening, ‘Who will grant morning to me?’ because of the dread of your heart, with which you will be terrified, and because of those things that you will see with your eyes.
67 (ROH) Ráno povieš: Keby len už bol večer! A večer povieš: Keby len už bolo ráno! pre strach svojeho srdca, ktorým sa budeš strachovať, a pre to, čo budú vidieť tvoje oči, na čo sa budeš musieť dívať.

68 (CPDV) The Lord will lead you back into Egypt with a fleet of ships, along the way, about which he said to you that you would not see it again. In that place, you will be put up for sale as men and women servants to your enemies, but there will be no one willing to buy you.”
68 (ROH) A Hospodin ťa zavedie zpät do Egypta na lodiach, cestou, o ktorej som ti povedal: Neuvidíš jej viacej, a tam sa budete predávať tvojim nepriateľom za sluhov a za dievky, a nebude toho, kto by kúpil.
