1 (HEM) כי יקח איש אשה ובעלה והיה אם לא תמצא חן בעיניו כי מצא בה ערות דבר וכתב לה ספר כריתת ונתן בידה ושלחה מביתו׃
1 (UKJV) When a man has taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he has found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house.
2 (HEM) ויצאה מביתו והלכה והיתה לאיש אחר׃
2 (UKJV) And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man's wife.
3 (HEM) ושנאה האיש האחרון וכתב לה ספר כריתת ונתן בידה ושלחה מביתו או כי ימות האיש האחרון אשר לקחה לו לאשה׃
3 (UKJV) "And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and gives it in her hand, and sends her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; "
4 (HEM) לא יוכל בעלה הראשון אשר שלחה לשוב לקחתה להיות לו לאשה אחרי אשר הטמאה כי תועבה הוא לפני יהוה ולא תחטיא את הארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך נחלה׃
4 (UKJV) "Her former husband, which sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before the LORD: and you shall not cause the land to sin, which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance. "
5 (HEM) כי יקח איש אשה חדשה לא יצא בצבא ולא יעבר עליו לכל דבר נקי יהיה לביתו שנה אחת ושמח את אשתו אשר לקח׃
5 (UKJV) When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he has taken.
6 (HEM) לא יחבל רחים ורכב כי נפש הוא חבל׃
6 (UKJV) No man shall take the nether or the upper millstone to pledge: for he takes a man's life to pledge.
7 (HEM) כי ימצא איש גנב נפש מאחיו מבני ישראל והתעמר בו ומכרו ומת הגנב ההוא ובערת הרע מקרבך׃
7 (UKJV) "If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and makes merchandise of him, or sells him; then that thief shall die; and you shall put evil away from among you. "
8 (HEM) השמר בנגע הצרעת לשמר מאד ולעשות ככל אשר יורו אתכם הכהנים הלוים כאשר צויתם תשמרו לעשות׃
8 (UKJV) Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that you observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so all of you shall observe to do.
9 (HEM) זכור את אשר עשה יהוה אלהיך למרים בדרך בצאתכם ממצרים׃
9 (UKJV) Remember what the LORD your God did unto Miriam by the way, after that all of you were come forth out of Egypt.
10 (HEM) כי תשה ברעך משאת מאומה לא תבא אל ביתו לעבט עבטו׃
10 (UKJV) When you do lend your brother any thing, you shall not go into his house to fetch his pledge.
11 (HEM) בחוץ תעמד והאיש אשר אתה נשה בו יוציא אליך את העבוט החוצה׃
11 (UKJV) You shall stand abroad, and the man to whom you do lend shall bring out the pledge abroad unto you.
12 (HEM) ואם איש עני הוא לא תשכב בעבטו׃
12 (UKJV) And if the man be poor, you shall not sleep with his pledge:
13 (HEM) השב תשיב לו את העבוט כבא השמש ושכב בשלמתו וברכך ולך תהיה צדקה לפני יהוה אלהיך׃
13 (UKJV) In any case you shall deliver him the pledge again when the sun goes down, that he may sleep in his own raiment, and bless you: and it shall be righteousness unto you before the LORD your God.
14 (HEM) לא תעשק שכיר עני ואביון מאחיך או מגרך אשר בארצך בשעריך׃
14 (UKJV) You shall not oppress an hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of your brethren, or of your strangers that are in your land within your gates:
15 (HEM) ביומו תתן שכרו ולא תבוא עליו השמש כי עני הוא ואליו הוא נשא את נפשו ולא יקרא עליך אל יהוה והיה בך חטא׃
15 (UKJV) "At his day you shall give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and sets his heart upon it: lest he cry against you unto the LORD, and it be sin unto you. "
16 (HEM) לא יומתו אבות על בנים ובנים לא יומתו על אבות איש בחטאו יומתו׃
16 (UKJV) The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
17 (HEM) לא תטה משפט גר יתום ולא תחבל בגד אלמנה׃
17 (UKJV) "You shall not pervert the judgment of the stranger, nor of the fatherless; nor take a widow's raiment to pledge: "
18 (HEM) וזכרת כי עבד היית במצרים ויפדך יהוה אלהיך משם על כן אנכי מצוך לעשות את הדבר הזה׃
18 (UKJV) But you shall remember that you were a bondman in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you thence: therefore I command you to do this thing.
19 (HEM) כי תקצר קצירך בשדך ושכחת עמר בשדה לא תשוב לקחתו לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה למען יברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל מעשה ידיך׃
19 (UKJV) When you cut down your harvest in your field, and have forgot a sheaf in the field, you shall not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow: that the LORD your God may bless you in all the work of your hands.
20 (HEM) כי תחבט זיתך לא תפאר אחריך לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה׃
20 (UKJV) When you beat your olive tree, you shall not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
21 (HEM) כי תבצר כרמך לא תעולל אחריך לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה׃
21 (UKJV) When you gather the grapes of your vineyard, you shall not glean it afterward: it shall be for the stranger, for the fatherless, and for the widow.
22 (HEM) וזכרת כי עבד היית בארץ מצרים על כן אנכי מצוך לעשות את הדבר הזה׃
22 (UKJV) And you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command you to do this thing.

כי יקח איש אשה חדשה לא יצא בצבא ולא יעבר עליו לכל דבר נקי יהיה לביתו שנה אחת ושמח את אשתו אשר לקח׃
Dt 20:7 - ומי האיש אשר ארש אשה ולא לקחה ילך וישב לביתו פן ימות במלחמה ואיש אחר יקחנה׃

כי ימצא איש גנב נפש מאחיו מבני ישראל והתעמר בו ומכרו ומת הגנב ההוא ובערת הרע מקרבך׃

השמר בנגע הצרעת לשמר מאד ולעשות ככל אשר יורו אתכם הכהנים הלוים כאשר צויתם תשמרו לעשות׃
Lv 13:2 - אדם כי יהיה בעור בשרו שאת או ספחת או בהרת והיה בעור בשרו לנגע צרעת והובא אל אהרן הכהן או אל אחד מבניו הכהנים׃

זכור את אשר עשה יהוה אלהיך למרים בדרך בצאתכם ממצרים׃
Nm 12:10 - והענן סר מעל האהל והנה מרים מצרעת כשלג ויפן אהרן אל מרים והנה מצרעת׃

השב תשיב לו את העבוט כבא השמש ושכב בשלמתו וברכך ולך תהיה צדקה לפני יהוה אלהיך׃
Ex 22:26 - אם חבל תחבל שלמת רעך עד בא השמש תשיבנו לו׃

לא תעשק שכיר עני ואביון מאחיך או מגרך אשר בארצך בשעריך׃
Lv 19:13 - לא תעשק את רעך ולא תגזל לא תלין פעלת שכיר אתך עד בקר׃
Jak 5:4 - הנה שכר הפעלים אספי קציר שדתיכם אשר עשקתם צעק עליכם וצעקת הקוצרים באה באזני יהוה צבאות׃

לא יומתו אבות על בנים ובנים לא יומתו על אבות איש בחטאו יומתו׃
2Kr 14:6 - ואת בני המכים לא המית ככתוב בספר תורת משה אשר צוה יהוה לאמר לא יומתו אבות על בנים ובנים לא יומתו על אבות כי אם איש בחטאו ימות׃
2Krn 25:4 - ואת בניהם לא המית כי ככתוב בתורה בספר משה אשר צוה יהוה לאמר לא ימותו אבות על בנים ובנים לא ימותו על אבות כי איש בחטאו ימותו׃
Jer 31:30 - כי אם איש בעונו ימות כל האדם האכל הבסר תקהינה שניו׃
Ez 18:20 - הנפש החטאת היא תמות בן לא ישא בעון האב ואב לא ישא בעון הבן צדקת הצדיק עליו תהיה ורשעת רשע עליו תהיה׃

לא תטה משפט גר יתום ולא תחבל בגד אלמנה׃
Ex 22:21 - וגר לא תונה ולא תלחצנו כי גרים הייתם בארץ מצרים׃
Prís 22:22 - אל תגזל דל כי דל הוא ואל תדכא עני בשער׃
Iz 1:23 - שריך סוררים וחברי גנבים כלו אהב שחד ורדף שלמנים יתום לא ישפטו וריב אלמנה לא יבוא אליהם׃
Jer 5:28 - שמנו עשתו גם עברו דברי רע דין לא דנו דין יתום ויצליחו ומשפט אביונים לא שפטו׃
Jer 22:3 - כה אמר יהוה עשו משפט וצדקה והצילו גזול מיד עשוק וגר יתום ואלמנה אל תנו אל תחמסו ודם נקי אל תשפכו במקום הזה׃
Ez 22:29 - עם הארץ עשקו עשק וגזלו גזל ועני ואביון הונו ואת הגר עשקו בלא משפט׃
Za 7:10 - ואלמנה ויתום גר ועני אל תעשקו ורעת איש אחיו אל תחשבו בלבבכם׃

כי תקצר קצירך בשדך ושכחת עמר בשדה לא תשוב לקחתו לגר ליתום ולאלמנה יהיה למען יברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל מעשה ידיך׃
Lv 19:9 - ובקצרכם את קציר ארצכם לא תכלה פאת שדך לקצר ולקט קצירך לא תלקט׃
Lv 23:22 - ובקצרכם את קציר ארצכם לא תכלה פאת שדך בקצרך ולקט קצירך לא תלקט לעני ולגר תעזב אתם אני יהוה אלהיכם׃
Dt 24,1-4 - Mojžišovské zákonodarstvo dovoľovalo manželskú rozluku. Muž mohol prepustiť manželku, keď u nej zbadal "niečo odporné", hebr. 'ervath-dábhár. Isteže to bola nejaká vážna chyba, či už telesná alebo mravná. V neskorších časoch však Židia prepúšťali svoje ženy pre hocaké malé nedorozumenie (Mt 19,3). Pre platnosť manželskej rozluky musel muž napísať, prípadne dal napísať kňazovi alebo pisárovi pre manželku zapudzujúci list, ktorý podpísali svedkovia. Tento úradný akt bol často príčinou, že muž si rozmyslel a ženu neprepustil, najmä keď ju chcel prepustiť pre nepatrnú vec. Muž musel list sám dať žene do rúk a z domu ju vystrčiť. Takto úradne prepustenú ženu nesmel si muž už neskoršie vziať za ženu, ak sa medzitým vydala za iného. O tom, či si mohol vziať takú zapudenú ženu, ktorá sa nevydala, v Písme nemáme zmienky. Zapudzujúcim, čiže prepúšťacím listom židovské manželstvo sa právne rozlučovalo a obe stránky boli voľné, mohli uzavrieť nové manželstvo. Kristus oproti tomu vyhlasuje manželský zväzok za nerozlučiteľný a dovolil len za určitých okolností rozvod, nie však manželskú rozluku. Pozri Gn 2,24.
Dt 24,5 - Pozri 20,7. Cieľom zákona je podporiť manželský zväzok a dovoliť užívať radosti, ktoré nie sú hriešne.
Dt 24,6 - Ručný mlynček bol v každej izraelskej domácnosti. Boli to dva kamene: spodný bol upevnený a vrchným sa po nasypanom obilí pohybovalo sem-tam a takto sa pripravovala múka.

Dt 24,8-9 - Porov. Lv 13,14.
Dt 24,12-13 - Odev je plášť, ktorým sa chudobní v noci prikrývali. Nemali iné, čím by sa prikryli (Ex 22,25 n.).
Dt 24,15 - Vyplácalo sa v naturáliách, preto je pochopiteľné, že robotník, ktorý nemal iný majetok a príjem, potreboval túto "plácu" k dennému živobytiu (Lv 19,13; Tob 4,14; Jak 5,4).
