1 (HEM) כי תצא למלחמה על איביך וראית סוס ורכב עם רב ממך לא תירא מהם כי יהוה אלהיך עמך המעלך מארץ מצרים׃
1 (UKJV) When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses, and chariots, and a people more than you, be not afraid of them: for the LORD your God is with you, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt.

2 (HEM) והיה כקרבכם אל המלחמה ונגש הכהן ודבר אל העם׃
2 (UKJV) And it shall be, when all of you are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,

3 (HEM) ואמר אלהם שמע ישראל אתם קרבים היום למלחמה על איביכם אל ירך לבבכם אל תיראו ואל תחפזו ואל תערצו מפניהם׃
3 (UKJV) "And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, all of you approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be all of you terrified because of them; "

4 (HEM) כי יהוה אלהיכם ההלך עמכם להלחם לכם עם איביכם להושיע אתכם׃
4 (UKJV) For the LORD your God is he that goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

5 (HEM) ודברו השטרים אל העם לאמר מי האיש אשר בנה בית חדש ולא חנכו ילך וישב לביתו פן ימות במלחמה ואיש אחר יחנכנו׃
5 (UKJV) And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that has built a new house, and has not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it.

6 (HEM) ומי האיש אשר נטע כרם ולא חללו ילך וישב לביתו פן ימות במלחמה ואיש אחר יחללנו׃
6 (UKJV) And what man is he that has planted a vineyard, and has not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it.

7 (HEM) ומי האיש אשר ארש אשה ולא לקחה ילך וישב לביתו פן ימות במלחמה ואיש אחר יקחנה׃
7 (UKJV) And what man is there that has betrothed a wife, and has not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her.

8 (HEM) ויספו השטרים לדבר אל העם ואמרו מי האיש הירא ורך הלבב ילך וישב לביתו ולא ימס את לבב אחיו כלבבו׃
8 (UKJV) And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart.

9 (HEM) והיה ככלת השטרים לדבר אל העם ופקדו שרי צבאות בראש העם׃
9 (UKJV) And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people.

10 (HEM) כי תקרב אל עיר להלחם עליה וקראת אליה לשלום׃
10 (UKJV) When you come nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it.

11 (HEM) והיה אם שלום תענך ופתחה לך והיה כל העם הנמצא בה יהיו לך למס ועבדוך׃
11 (UKJV) And it shall be, if it make you answer of peace, and open unto you, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto you, and they shall serve you.

12 (HEM) ואם לא תשלים עמך ועשתה עמך מלחמה וצרת עליה׃
12 (UKJV) And if it will make no peace with you, but will make war against you, then you shall besiege it:

13 (HEM) ונתנה יהוה אלהיך בידך והכית את כל זכורה לפי חרב׃
13 (UKJV) And when the LORD your God has delivered it into your hands, you shall strike every male thereof with the edge of the sword:

14 (HEM) רק הנשים והטף והבהמה וכל אשר יהיה בעיר כל שללה תבז לך ואכלת את שלל איביך אשר נתן יהוה אלהיך לך׃
14 (UKJV) "But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shall you take unto yourself; and you shall eat the spoil of your enemies, which the LORD your God has given you. "

15 (HEM) כן תעשה לכל הערים הרחקת ממך מאד אשר לא מערי הגוים האלה הנה׃
15 (UKJV) Thus shall you do unto all the cities which are very far off from you, which are not of the cities of these nations.

16 (HEM) רק מערי העמים האלה אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך נחלה לא תחיה כל נשמה׃
16 (UKJV) But of the cities of these people, which the LORD your God does give you for an inheritance, you shall keep alive nothing that breathes:

17 (HEM) כי החרם תחרימם החתי והאמרי הכנעני והפרזי החוי והיבוסי כאשר צוך יהוה אלהיך׃
17 (UKJV) "But you shall utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD your God has commanded you: "

18 (HEM) למען אשר לא ילמדו אתכם לעשות ככל תועבתם אשר עשו לאלהיהם וחטאתם ליהוה אלהיכם׃
18 (UKJV) "That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should all of you sin against the LORD your God. "

19 (HEM) כי תצור אל עיר ימים רבים להלחם עליה לתפשה לא תשחית את עצה לנדח עליו גרזן כי ממנו תאכל ואתו לא תכרת כי האדם עץ השדה לבא מפניך במצור׃
19 (UKJV) When you shall besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, you shall not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for you may eat of them, and you shall not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege:

20 (HEM) רק עץ אשר תדע כי לא עץ מאכל הוא אתו תשחית וכרת ובנית מצור על העיר אשר הוא עשה עמך מלחמה עד רדתה׃
20 (UKJV) "Only the trees which you know that they be not trees for food, you shall destroy and cut them down; and you shall build bulwarks against the city that makes war with you, until it be subdued. "
