1 (HEM) מקץ שבע שנים תעשה שמטה׃
1 (UKJV) At the end of every seven years you shall make a release.

2 (HEM) וזה דבר השמטה שמוט כל בעל משה ידו אשר ישה ברעהו לא יגש את רעהו ואת אחיו כי קרא שמטה ליהוה׃
2 (UKJV) "And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lends ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD's release. "

3 (HEM) את הנכרי תגש ואשר יהיה לך את אחיך תשמט ידך׃
3 (UKJV) "Of a foreigner you may exact it again: but that which is your with your brother your hand shall release; "

4 (HEM) אפס כי לא יהיה בך אביון כי ברך יברכך יהוה בארץ אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך נחלה לרשתה׃
4 (UKJV) "Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you for an inheritance to possess it: "

5 (HEM) רק אם שמוע תשמע בקול יהוה אלהיך לשמר לעשות את כל המצוה הזאת אשר אנכי מצוך היום׃
5 (UKJV) Only if you carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command you this day.

6 (HEM) כי יהוה אלהיך ברכך כאשר דבר לך והעבטת גוים רבים ואתה לא תעבט ומשלת בגוים רבים ובך לא ימשלו׃
6 (UKJV) "For the LORD your God blesses you, as he promised you: and you shall lend unto many nations, but you shall not borrow; and you shall reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over you. "

7 (HEM) כי יהיה בך אביון מאחד אחיך באחד שעריך בארצך אשר יהוה אלהיך נתן לך לא תאמץ את לבבך ולא תקפץ את ידך מאחיך האביון׃
7 (UKJV) If there be among you a poor man of one of your brethren within any of your gates in your land which the LORD your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, nor shut your hand from your poor brother:

8 (HEM) כי פתח תפתח את ידך לו והעבט תעביטנו די מחסרו אשר יחסר לו׃
8 (UKJV) But you shall open your hand wide unto him, and shall surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wants.

9 (HEM) השמר לך פן יהיה דבר עם לבבך בליעל לאמר קרבה שנת השבע שנת השמטה ורעה עינך באחיך האביון ולא תתן לו וקרא עליך אל יהוה והיה בך חטא׃
9 (UKJV) "Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him nothing; and he cry unto the LORD against you, and it be sin unto you. "

10 (HEM) נתון תתן לו ולא ירע לבבך בתתך לו כי בגלל הדבר הזה יברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל מעשך ובכל משלח ידך׃
10 (UKJV) You shall surely give him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give unto him: because that for this thing the LORD your God shall bless you in all your works, and in all that you put your hand unto.

11 (HEM) כי לא יחדל אביון מקרב הארץ על כן אנכי מצוך לאמר פתח תפתח את ידך לאחיך לעניך ולאבינך בארצך׃
11 (UKJV) For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command you, saying, You shall open your hand wide unto your brother, to your poor, and to your needy, in your land.

12 (HEM) כי ימכר לך אחיך העברי או העבריה ועבדך שש שנים ובשנה השביעת תשלחנו חפשי מעמך׃
12 (UKJV) "And if your brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto you, and serve you six years; then in the seventh year you shall let him go free from you. "

13 (HEM) וכי תשלחנו חפשי מעמך לא תשלחנו ריקם׃
13 (UKJV) And when you send him out free from you, you shall not let him go away empty:

14 (HEM) העניק תעניק לו מצאנך ומגרנך ומיקבך אשר ברכך יהוה אלהיך תתן לו׃
14 (UKJV) You shall furnish him liberally out of your flock, and out of your floor, and out of your winepress: of that wherewith the LORD your God has blessed you you shall give unto him.

15 (HEM) וזכרת כי עבד היית בארץ מצרים ויפדך יהוה אלהיך על כן אנכי מצוך את הדבר הזה היום׃
15 (UKJV) And you shall remember that you were a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you: therefore I command you this thing to day.

16 (HEM) והיה כי יאמר אליך לא אצא מעמך כי אהבך ואת ביתך כי טוב לו עמך׃
16 (UKJV) "And it shall be, if he say unto you, I will not go away from you; because he loves you and your house, because he is well with you; "

17 (HEM) ולקחת את המרצע ונתתה באזנו ובדלת והיה לך עבד עולם ואף לאמתך תעשה כן׃
17 (UKJV) Then you shall take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be your servant for ever. And also unto your maidservant you shall do likewise.

18 (HEM) לא יקשה בעינך בשלחך אתו חפשי מעמך כי משנה שכר שכיר עבדך שש שנים וברכך יהוה אלהיך בכל אשר תעשה׃
18 (UKJV) "It shall not seem hard unto you, when you send him away free from you; for he has been worth a double hired servant to you, in serving you six years: and the LORD your God shall bless you in all that you do. "

19 (HEM) כל הבכור אשר יולד בבקרך ובצאנך הזכר תקדיש ליהוה אלהיך לא תעבד בבכר שורך ולא תגז בכור צאנך׃
19 (UKJV) All the first born males that come of your herd and of your flock you shall sanctify unto the LORD your God: you shall do no work with the first born of your bullock, nor shear the first born of your sheep.

20 (HEM) לפני יהוה אלהיך תאכלנו שנה בשנה במקום אשר יבחר יהוה אתה וביתך׃
20 (UKJV) You shall eat it before the LORD your God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, you and your household.

21 (HEM) וכי יהיה בו מום פסח או עור כל מום רע לא תזבחנו ליהוה אלהיך׃
21 (UKJV) And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, you shall not sacrifice it unto the LORD your God.

22 (HEM) בשעריך תאכלנו הטמא והטהור יחדו כצבי וכאיל׃
22 (UKJV) You shall eat it within your gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart.

23 (HEM) רק את דמו לא תאכל על הארץ תשפכנו כמים׃
23 (UKJV) "Only you shall not eat the blood thereof; you shall pour it upon the ground as water. "
