2Kor 3, 1-18

1 Must we begin again to commend ourselves? Or are we in need (as some are) of epistles of commendation for you, or from you? 2 You are our Epistle, written in our hearts, which is known and read by all men. 3 It has been made manifest that you are the Epistle of Christ, ministered by us, and written down, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, and not on tablets of stone, but on the fleshly tablets of the heart. 4 And we have such faith, through Christ, toward God. 5 It is not that we are adequate to think anything of ourselves, as if anything was from us. But our adequacy is from God. 6 And he has made us suitable ministers of the New Testament, not in the letter, but in the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 7 But if the ministration of death, engraved with letters upon stones, was in glory, (so much so that the sons of Israel were not able to gaze intently upon the face of Moses, because of the glory of his countenance) even though this ministration was ineffective, 8 how could the ministration of the Spirit not be in greater glory? 9 For if the ministration of condemnation is with glory, so much more is the ministration of justice abundant in glory. 10 And neither was it glorified by means of an excellent glory, though it was made illustrious in its own way. 11 For if even what was temporary has its glory, then what is lasting has an even greater glory. 12 Therefore, having such a hope, we act with much confidence, 13 and not as Moses did, in placing a veil over his face, so that the sons of Israel would not gaze intently at his face. This was ineffective, 14 for their minds were obtuse. And, even until this present day, the very same veil, in the readings from the Old Testament, remains not taken away (though, in Christ, it is taken away). 15 But even until today, when Moses is read, a veil is still set over their hearts. 16 But when they will have been converted to the Lord, then the veil shall be taken away. 17 Now the Spirit is Lord. And wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18 Yet truly, all of us, as we gaze upon the unveiled glory of the face of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image, from one glory to another. And this is done by the Spirit of the Lord.

2Kor 3, 1-18

Verš 1
Must we begin again to commend ourselves? Or are we in need (as some are) of epistles of commendation for you, or from you?
2Kor 5:12 - We are not commending ourselves again to you, but rather we are presenting you with an opportunity to glory because of us, when you deal with those who glory in face, and not in heart.
2Kor 10:8 - And if I were even to glory somewhat more about our authority, which the Lord has given to us for your edification, and not for your destruction, I should not be ashamed.

Verš 3
It has been made manifest that you are the Epistle of Christ, ministered by us, and written down, not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, and not on tablets of stone, but on the fleshly tablets of the heart.
Ex 24:12 - Then the Lord said to Moses: “Ascend to me on the mountain, and be there. And I will give to you tablets of stone, and the law and the commandments that I have written. So may you teach them.”
Ex 34:1 - And after this he said: “Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone similar to the first ones, and I will write upon them the words which were held on the tablets that you broke.
Jer 31:33 - But this will be the covenant that I will form with the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord: I will give my law to their inner most being, and I will write it upon their heart. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Ez 11:19 - And I will give them one heart. And I will distribute a new spirit to their interior. And I will take away the heart of stone from their body. And I will give them a heart of flesh.
Ez 36:26 - And I will give to you a new heart, and I will place in you a new spirit. And I will take away the heart of stone from your body, and I will give to you a heart of flesh.
Heb 8:10 - For this is the testament which I will set before the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord. I will instill my laws in their minds, and I will inscribe my laws on their hearts. And so, I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Verš 5
It is not that we are adequate to think anything of ourselves, as if anything was from us. But our adequacy is from God.
Flp 2:13 - For it is God who works in you, both so as to choose, and so as to act, in accord with his good will.

Verš 6
And he has made us suitable ministers of the New Testament, not in the letter, but in the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
2Kor 5:18 - But all is of God, who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Heb 8:6 - But now he has been granted a better ministry, so much so that he is also the Mediator of a better testament, which has been confirmed by better promises.
Heb 8:8 - For, finding fault with them, he says: “Behold, the days shall arrive, says the Lord, when I will consummate a New Testament over the house of Israel and the house of Judah,

Verš 7
But if the ministration of death, engraved with letters upon stones, was in glory, (so much so that the sons of Israel were not able to gaze intently upon the face of Moses, because of the glory of his countenance) even though this ministration was ineffective,
Ex 24:12 - Then the Lord said to Moses: “Ascend to me on the mountain, and be there. And I will give to you tablets of stone, and the law and the commandments that I have written. So may you teach them.”
Ex 34:1 - And after this he said: “Cut out for yourself two tablets of stone similar to the first ones, and I will write upon them the words which were held on the tablets that you broke.
Dt 10:2 - And I will write on the tablets the words which were on those that you broke before, and you shall place them in the ark.’
Ex 34:30 - Then Aaron and the sons of Israel, seeing that the face of Moses was radiant, were afraid to approach close by.

Verš 13
and not as Moses did, in placing a veil over his face, so that the sons of Israel would not gaze intently at his face. This was ineffective,
Ex 34:35 - And they saw that the face of Moses, when he came out, was radiant, but he covered his face again, whenever he spoke to them.
Rim 10:4 - For the end of the law, Christ, is unto justice for all who believe.

Verš 14
for their minds were obtuse. And, even until this present day, the very same veil, in the readings from the Old Testament, remains not taken away (though, in Christ, it is taken away).
Iz 6:10 - Blind the heart of this people. Make their ears heavy and close their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and then I would heal them.”
Ez 12:2 - “Son of man, you live in the midst of a provoking house. They have eyes to see, and they do not see; and ears to hear, and they do not hear. For they are a provoking house.
Mt 13:11 - Responding, he said to them: “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but it has not been given to them.
Sk 28:26 - saying: ‘Go to this people and say to them: Hearing, you shall hear and not understand, and seeing, you shall see and not perceive.
Rim 11:8 - just as it was written: “God has given them a spirit of reluctance: eyes that do not perceive, and ears that do not hear, even until this very day.”

Verš 16
But when they will have been converted to the Lord, then the veil shall be taken away.
Mt 13:11 - Responding, he said to them: “Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but it has not been given to them.
Rim 11:23 - Moreover, if they do not remain in unbelief, they will be grafted on. For God is able to graft them on again.
1Kor 2:10 - But God has revealed these things to us through his Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God.

Verš 17
Now the Spirit is Lord. And wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
Jn 4:24 - God is Spirit. And so, those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth.”

Verš 18
Yet truly, all of us, as we gaze upon the unveiled glory of the face of the Lord, are transfigured into the same image, from one glory to another. And this is done by the Spirit of the Lord.
1Kor 13:12 - Now we see through a glass darkly. But then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know, even as I am known.
2Kor 5:7 - For we walk by means of faith, and not by sight.

2Kor 3,3 - Odporcovia asi vyčítali Pavlovi, že odporúča samého seba.
