1 (KJV) Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1 (KAT) O tom, čo ste písali: Dobre je, keď sa muž nedotýka ženy.
2 (KJV) Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.
2 (KAT) Ale vzhľadom na nebezpečenstvo smilstva nech má každý svoju ženu a každá nech má svojho muža.
3 (KJV) Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
3 (KAT) Muž nech plní povinnosť voči manželke a podobne aj manželka voči mužovi.
4 (KJV) The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband hath not power of his own body, but the wife.
4 (KAT) Žena nemá moc nad svojím telom, ale muž; podobne ani muž nemá moc nad svojím telom, ale žena.
5 (KJV) Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
5 (KAT) Neodopierajte si jeden druhému, iba ak na čas so vzájomným súhlasom, aby ste sa mohli venovať modlitbe, a opäť buďte spolu, aby vás satan nepokúšal pre vašu nezdržanlivosť.
6 (KJV) But I speak this by permission, and not of commandment.
6 (KAT) No toto hovorím ako dovolenie, nie ako príkaz.
7 (KJV) For I would that all men were even as I myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God, one after this manner, and another after that.
7 (KAT) Chcel by som, aby boli všetci ľudia tak, ako som ja; lenže každý má svoj vlastný dar od Boha: jeden tak, druhý inak.
8 (KJV) I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I.
8 (KAT) Slobodným a vdovám hovorím: Dobre je pre nich, ak zostanú tak, ako ja.
9 (KJV) But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.
9 (KAT) Ale ak sa nevedia zdržať, nech vstúpia do manželstva. Lebo je lepšie vstúpiť do manželstva ako horieť.
10 (KJV) And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
10 (KAT) Tým, čo uzavreli manželstvo, prikazujem, ani nie ja, ale Pán, aby manželka neodchádzala od muža
11 (KJV) But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.
11 (KAT) - a ak by odišla, nech ostane nevydatá, alebo nech sa zmieri so svojím mužom - a muž nech neprepúšťa manželku.
12 (KJV) But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
12 (KAT) Ostatným hovorím ja, nie Pán: Ak má niektorý brat neveriacu ženu a ona chce s ním bývať, nech ju neprepúšťa.
13 (KJV) And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
13 (KAT) A ak má niektorá žena neveriaceho muža a on chce s ňou bývať, nech muža neopúšťa.
14 (KJV) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
14 (KAT) Lebo neveriaci muž sa posväcuje v žene a neveriaca žena sa posväcuje v bratovi. Inak by boli vaše deti nečisté; ale teraz sú sväté.
15 (KJV) But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
15 (KAT) No ak neveriaci chce odísť, nech odíde. V takomto prípade nie sú brat alebo sestra otrocky viazaní; veď Boh nás povolal žiť v pokoji.
16 (KJV) For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
16 (KAT) Vari vieš, žena, či zachrániš muža? Alebo vieš, muž, či zachrániš ženu?
17 (KJV) But as God hath distributed to every man, as the Lord hath called every one, so let him walk. And so ordain I in all churches.
17 (KAT) Len nech každý žije tak, ako mu určil Pán, každý, ako ho Boh povolal. Takto učím vo všetkých cirkvách.
18 (KJV) Is any man called being circumcised? let him not become uncircumcised. Is any called in uncircumcision? let him not be circumcised.
18 (KAT) Bol niekto povolaný ako obrezaný? Nech sa nevracia k neobriezke. Bol niekto povolaný ako neobrezaný? Nech sa nedáva obrezať.
19 (KJV) Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.
19 (KAT) Obriezka nie je nič a neobriezka tiež nie je nič, ale zachovávanie Božích prikázaní.
20 (KJV) Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.
20 (KAT) Nech každý zostane v tom stave, v ktorom bol povolaný.
21 (KJV) Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.
21 (KAT) Bol si povolaný ako otrok? Nerob si z toho starosti. Ale ak by si sa aj mohol stať slobodným, radšej to využi.
22 (KJV) For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant.
22 (KAT) Lebo kto je povolaný v Pánovi ako otrok, je Pánov oslobodenec. Podobne kto je povolaný ako slobodný, je Kristov služobník.
23 (KJV) Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
23 (KAT) Draho ste boli kúpení. Nestaňte sa otrokmi ľudí!
24 (KJV) Brethren, let every man, wherein he is called, therein abide with God.
24 (KAT) Bratia, nech každý zostane pred Bohom v tom, v čom bol povolaný.
25 (KJV) Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful.
25 (KAT) O pannách nemám Pánov príkaz, ale dávam radu ako taký, ktorý dosiahol milosrdenstvo u Pána, aby som bol verný.
26 (KJV) I suppose therefore that this is good for the present distress, I say, that it is good for a man so to be.
26 (KAT) Myslím teda, že je to dobré - pre terajšie ťažkosti -, že je dobre, keď človek ostane tak, ako je.
27 (KJV) Art thou bound unto a wife? seek not to be loosed. Art thou loosed from a wife? seek not a wife.
27 (KAT) Si viazaný k žene? Nevyhľadávaj rozluku. Si bez ženy? Nehľadaj si ženu.
28 (KJV) But and if thou marry, thou hast not sinned; and if a virgin marry, she hath not sinned. Nevertheless such shall have trouble in the flesh: but I spare you.
28 (KAT) Ale ak sa oženíš, nezhrešíš. A ak sa panna vydá, nezhreší. Ale takíto budú mať telesné trápenia a toho vás chcem ušetriť.
29 (KJV) But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;
29 (KAT) A tak, bratia, hovorím, čas je krátky, aby napokon aj tí, čo majú ženy, boli, akoby ich nemali;
30 (KJV) And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not;
30 (KAT) tí, čo plačú, akoby neplakali; tí, čo sa radujú, akoby sa neradovali; tí, čo kupujú, akoby nič nevlastnili;
31 (KJV) And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
31 (KAT) a tí, čo užívajú tento svet, akoby ho neužívali, lebo tvárnosť tohto sveta sa pomíňa.
32 (KJV) But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
32 (KAT) Chcem, aby ste vy boli bez starostí. Kto je bez ženy, stará sa o Pánove veci, ako sa páčiť Pánovi.
33 (KJV) But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife.
33 (KAT) Ale ženatý sa stará o svetské veci, ako sa páčiť manželke,
34 (KJV) There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.
34 (KAT) a je rozdelený. Aj nevydatá žena a panna rozmýšľajú o Pánových veciach, aby boli sväté telom i duchom. Ale vydatá myslí na svetské veci, ako sa páčiť mužovi.
35 (KJV) And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
35 (KAT) No toto hovorím na váš prospech, nie aby som na vás hodil slučku, ale aby ste sa čestne a nerušene pripútali k Pánovi.
36 (KJV) But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
36 (KAT) Ak si niekto myslí, že je potupou pre jeho pannu, ak prekročí vek a má sa tak stať, nech urobí, čo chce; nehreší. Nech sa vezmú.
37 (KJV) Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well.
37 (KAT) Ale kto sa pevne v srdci rozhodol a nebol donútený, ale je pánom svojej vôle a zaumienil si v srdci zachovať svoju pannu, dobre robí.
38 (KJV) So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better.
38 (KAT) Teda aj ten, kto vydáva svoju pannu, dobre robí, ale kto nevydáva, robí lepšie.
39 (KJV) The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
39 (KAT) Žena je viazaná, dokiaľ jej muž žije. Keď jej muž zomrie, je slobodná, môže sa vydať, za koho chce, ale iba v Pánovi.
40 (KJV) But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God.
40 (KAT) Bude však blaženejšia, ak ostane tak podľa mojej rady. A myslím si, že aj ja mám Božieho Ducha.

Verš 32
But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord:
1Tim 5:5 - Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.
Verš 3
Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the husband.
1Pt 3:7 - Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.

Defraud ye not one the other, except it be with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency.
Joe 2:16 - Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.

The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord.
Rim 7:2 - For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.

For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?
1Pt 3:1 - Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;

1Kor 6:20 - For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Heb 9:12 - Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
1Pt 1:18 - Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away.
Iz 40:6 - The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
Jak 1:10 - But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.
Jak 4:14 - Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
1Pt 1:24 - For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
1Jn 2:17 - And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1Kor 7,1-7 - Pavol tu nepodáva celú náuku o manželstve a panenstve, ale iba odpovedá na konkrétne otázky, ktoré sa v Korinte vyskytli.
1Kor 7,7 - "Ako som ja", t. j. neženatý.
1Kor 7,10 - Nerozlučnosť manželstva je stálou náukou Cirkvi od počiatku. Porov. Mt 5, 32; 19, 9; Mk 10, 11; Lk 16, 18.
1Kor 7,12 - "Ostatní" sú tí, ktorých manželský partner ostal nepokrstený.
1Kor 7,14 - Neveriaci manželský partner vďaka veriacemu partnerovi má určitým spôsobom účasť na svätosti Cirkvi a ich deti vzhľadom na kresťanského manžela patria k Božiemu ľudu.
1Kor 7,15 - Je to tzv. "Privilegium Paulinum". Podľa neho manželstvo nepokrstených možno rozviesť, ak sa jedna stránka dá pokrstiť a druhá, nepokrstená, nechce s ňou nažívať v pokoji. Pavol takto rozhodol na základe svojej apoštolskej moci.
1Kor 7,17-24 - V každom stave možno slúžiť Bohu a dosiahnuť spásu. Preto človek nemusí meniť stav. Neznamená to, že by Pavol schvaľoval otroctvo, hoci hovorí, že aj otrok môže vo svojom stave dosiahnuť spásu. Pavol neschvaľuje ani duchovné otroctvo človeka (v. 23) ako stav výlučnej závislosti od druhého človeka namiesto závislosti od Boha. Pokiaľ ide o staroveké otroctvo, Pavol sa tu nepokúša revolučne ho zničiť; kresťanstvo ho odstráni pretvorením ľudí. Porov. celý List Filemonovi.
1Kor 7,19 - Porov. Gal 6, 15; Rim 2, 29; Jn 14, 15.
1Kor 7,21 - Tento verš sa vysvetľuje dvojako: a) využiť otrocké postavenie na spásu; b) využiť možnosť stať sa slobodným.
1Kor 7,29 - Apoštol tu nemyslí na skorý koniec sveta. Skôr má pred očami krátkosť ľudského života a nestálosť sveta (v. 31).
1Kor 7,36-38 - Podľa klasického výkladu treba text chápať v tomto zmysle: V antickej spoločnosti mohol otec nakladať so svojou dcérou podľa ľubovôle. Tu ide o pannu žijúcu pod ochranou otca alebo tútora, ktorá už prekročila vek a ktorá by sa mala vydať ("má sa tak stať"). Výraz "nech sa vezmú" je všeobecný. Nie je teda potrebné vykladať ho v tom zmysle, že by medzi tútorom a pannou bol citový vzťah. Zdôrazňuje sa, že sú slobodní rozhodnúť sa, či sa panna vydá, alebo nie. Že je panenstvo lepšie, vysvitá z 38. verša.
1Kor 7,39 - Môže sa vydať, ale iba v Pánovi, čiže za kresťana.
